WARHEAD Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 Ancient sand strider. This sure has been a productive week for me. I wasn't sure whether I should post this here, but it is a large figure and contains a lot of Technic so I decided to do it. This guy was built over the course of a weekend. It started out as a project to build a body for a head I had built earlier but then it became its own thing when I realized the head no longer fit what I was making. The end result is some kind of mechanical hermit guy and I'm really pleased with it. I'd love to read your comments on it. Thanks! Quote
bacem Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 ohh this is awesome! i love how you manage to make the body doesn't look "blocky" despite of made from system. Quote
DraikNova Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 (edited) I love the semi-robotic and kind of skeletal look it has, and that bit with the zamor really makes this MOC stand out. I would recommend a different head, though, as its almost featureless nature contrasts and clashes heavily with the sharp lines of the torso. Edited May 20, 2014 by DraikNova Quote

Well, I think this difference makes the body look like an armor (along witht he massive use of system tan slopes). So I quite like it. Quote
Kalhiki Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 Love how you made the abs. It looks muscular while still being mechanical. Quote
WARHEAD Posted May 21, 2014 Author Posted May 21, 2014 Thanks for the kind words guys! Yeah, the contrast between the body and head is completely intentional, I feel that it gives it the look of an actual alien face, like the robot was made in the likeness of its creator, you knwo what I mean? Like human built androids usually have a face that is more or less human. Quote
