You've done a great job on the Endeavour. *y* It's quite a step up from the Indi.Your skeleton king on the front is really cool. Can you put figs down with the cannons?

Thanks, i could but the deck is so small that I couldnt fit on a staircase!

My figs fit in with my cannons but I never considered building a staircase.I don't think I could make one fit.I may try a ladder.

Well I'll be blown! That was fast! Did you resize the image too?

I may have assisted. Good job Duke!

Anyways, I thought I should say something about the ship itself!

I see a capstan, some swivel guns, two decks and a nice stern castle there. This is a great second MOC!

I would still advocated sloping in the back as I suggested in the Indi thread.

Keep up the good work and keep us appraised of your progress!

I did take this into consideration but i found that i had used nearly all of my sloping bricks on the gunports and couldnt see an easy solution for making it slope. Instead i made the cabin protude a bit.

Was it the HMS Endeavour from POTC III wich inspired you to build this?

Argh, I haven't seen POTC III and i didnt know there was a ship called Endeavour on that :-(.

Indeed a very nice improvement over the Indi. The inclusion of the many slopes makes a much better ship. It's good to see you've used a wagon wheel in the helm, that's what I did 'back in the day' too. :-P

Great progress! *y*

The Endeavour appears in Dead Man's Chest too, but it's definitely more prominent in the third. Not only that, but you've captured the ship's exact color scheme too. But don't worry, the world's finest space administration has a ship of the same name. X-D

And you could always change the name also, if you care to do so.

I believe at the end of DMC Norrington delivers Jones' heart (in the chest) to Beckett aboard the Endeavour in a compromise to earn back his naval career. That might be about it...

AARGH!!! A spoiler! You've ruined the movie for me again Mr Tiber! X-D

So what inspired you to call it the H.M.S Endeavour? Actual history maybe? :)

according to wikipedia there has been a number of ships in the Royal Navy with the name Endeavour through the history. One of them actually matched mr. Duke's vessel quite well in size and armanent :)

Wikipedia article

Which Endeavour was that? The first or seventh?

Posted (edited)

actually I think the second sounds like the closest bet. However, I don't know much about bomb vessels so I might be completely wrong on this one...

basically i just skimmed the article and noted that there were a few smaller craft with the name, which might have led me to draw a hasty conclusion in my previous post |-/
