Kai NRG Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Quack! Quack! A Kaliphlinian duck goes for a stroll. Just a quick forced perspective scene. I had wanted to see how using brown tiles for smooth mud would work, and I think it was fairly effective. I went on or off whether or not to post this here... in the end, I figured if Stranded made the cut, this should! I'd like to claim UoP credit for swamp (Geography). Thanks for looking! Quote
janatale Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Nice forced perspective! And the duck is awesome, great use of the airtank piece. Quote
Lord Vladivus Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Nice, great duck, and the mud looks good too! Quote
Scaevola Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Nice work, the tiles work well for slick mud. Nice work for the background as well; +1 UoP DoH for all claims Quote
Kai NRG Posted July 1, 2014 Author Posted July 1, 2014 Thanks guys! Nice forced perspective! And the duck is awesome, great use of the airtank piece. Thanks! I built this for the CC part challenge, so I had to use the airtank piece... otherwise I don't know that I would ever have built something like this! Nice work, the tiles work well for slick mud. Nice work for the background as well; +1 UoP DoH for all claims Thanks, I'm glad you think the tiles work well! I might be using that technique again in the future! Quote
Mutant Orc Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Wow, very clever duck, nice mud and a good forced perspective!!! Quote
SPARROW THE CONQUEROR Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Ha ha! LOVE the duck. Did you get the eye element from the Mixels series, or somewhere else? Quote
Kai NRG Posted July 2, 2014 Author Posted July 2, 2014 Thanks everyone! Ha ha! LOVE the duck. Did you get the eye element from the Mixels series, or somewhere else? Thanks! Yes... but you're not supposed to know that he only has one eye! Quote
soccerkid6 Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 Very clever duck design and the mud banks look quite realistic Excellent FP castle too Quote

UoP DoH +1 for swamp. Thanks Gideon! As per the usual, I took upwards of 25 pictures, and ended up with half a dozen that looked almost exactly the same! Quote
Gideon Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 Thanks Gideon! As per the usual, I took upwards of 25 pictures, and ended up with half a dozen that looked almost exactly the same! Only 25 pictures? I recognize that...usually take a large number of pictures of each build from different angles, lighting conditions, exposures etc ( >1 GB from one session is not uncommon) but in the end many of them tends to turn out very similar... The blessings of digital photography. Quote

Gabe Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 Love the duck Kai, very inventive! The forced perspective is nice too. Personally i feel that the stacked tiles translates better as cracked and baking mud flats, as opposed to smooth wet mud, but either way it works well in the scene. Geography UoP +1 for swamps. Quote
