Anne Mette Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 After I have built my sad grey town, where I only used a limited number of colours, I wanted to build something very colourful. I thought the many colours fits well with the LEGO Friends Theme. Therefore the holiday center has been occupied by Friends girls. The last weekend in June the layout was exhibited at LEGOLAND Friends Days in Billund. More photos can be seen here: https://www.flickr.c...157645952903042 Quote

CityBuilder Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 Quite the change of pace, sad grey town to rainbow resort. Very nice, makes me happy to look at. Quote
Kristel Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 Love it!! This is such a vibrant build, both in the colours and all the activities going on around the resort. Quote
Redhead1982 Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 This is wonderful. The colours are the best feature and they really make each house stand out despite the same design. And lots of details around the center add so much life to this creation. The lake with the dolphins stands out nicely, and the colourful cars are a nice touch. I an impressed with your collection, as you seem to have so many different colours in sufficient quantities to make larger MOCs and it's amazing to see them used so well. Thanks for sharing! Quote
Bennemans Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 All right, first of all I wanna say this isn't my cup of tea at all, but holy canoli that is some great work you've put out! You've managed to put the entire Friends Universe in one vacation destination; very nice! I like how you tried to stay true to the Friends style. I'm surprised you managed to get so much variety in the figs; I always found them too similar. Nicely done! I like how this build is something like a Lego version of 'Where's Waldo"; try to find all the Friends animals! The little details like the multi colored tennis-courts, the table tennis table, the little foodcourt, waterfowl and much more make it a feast for the eyes. And those cars are yummy! It's a very manicured build indeed. Honestly, I find it a tad shame that you didn't give your vacation houses an (even basic) interior; the empty rooms behind those big glass windows are a bit jarring to me, seeing as you spend so much time and attention on the outside. Are you planning on doing that eventually by any chance? To me, your "Sad Grey Town" is one of my most favorite builds EVER! But it's nice to see you can work in color as well! Keep on having fun! LEGO Guy Bri Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 Wow, went in a 180! This looks fantastic, I love the transitions from dark to light shades of each color. Your large MOC dioramas are wonderful Quote

CrazyDalton777 Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 That is the best interpretation of friends I have ever seen. I would love to stay there if I was a minifig (or whatever the friends line calls them)! Quote
jonwil Posted August 2, 2014 Posted August 2, 2014 Very nice MOC. Cant put my finger on why but it reminds me a lot of the British "Holiday Camp" as seen in the movie Tommy. Quote
