Each of these stations had rooms set up within the wall where the guards could grab a drink to warm their spirits before standing watch for long hours in the brisk air. Each keg was full with 2 parts water and 1 part wine. This was to prevent the guards from being drunk while on duty. The leader of each watch was tasked with monitoring how many cups each guard had had and was quick to punish those who had one too many. When the guards behaved these spots were often a place for gossip between shifts. Tonight Ralf was there in-between shifts so there wasn’t anyone to share a drink with him. The other guards at the gate knew Lief was paying Ralf off, though for what none of them knew not even Ralf. While Lief had bribed Ralf well, he did not bribe him well enough to keep the information to himself after he had had a drink or two. Some of the other guards were jealous they were not in Ralf’s shoes, but others were just biding their time until they could report this suspicious activity to the right person.
August 6, 201410 yr For this being that small, it came out nice! I like the kegs and now it makes me want some Wine.
August 6, 201410 yr This looks very nice and smooth and it is cool how it is incorporated right into the wall. I was slightly confused by the mural thingy on that one side of the wall ( is it the inside of the wall?). Also I think I looks slightly strange how everything is light gray except for te dark gray textured bricks. Maybe add a few dark grey regular bricks too into the walls so the textured bricks arnt the only dark grey things

The wall with the 1x1 plates is supposed to be the inside of the wall. I wanted to try a different take at that style.
August 6, 201410 yr Nice idea with the inside of the wall! I'd add some variety with plate sizes though. I love how smooth the build is though, and a novel idea as well!
August 6, 201410 yr I like your soldier design The wall itself looks good, the ends being filled with rubble is a nice touch. Cool idea for rest stations too

I bricklinked those hats a few months ago and have been waiting to use them. Glad you like the combo!
August 18, 201410 yr Hahaha, I do like the idea of having a beer stockage room right under the gate, and some of my guards asked for this in my city. But drinking beer is for after their guarding duty :p Nicely done!
