GallardoLU Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 (edited) Officer: Pilot, you are needed for a Patrol mission over Ord Mantell. Gallardo: Sir, what am i paroling for? Officer: this is a special mission from Lord Vader, you are to fly to the surface and look for any indication the Bounty Hunter known as Boba Fett, is still on the planet. Gallardo: Understood sir, if i should find this hunter what is the objective? Officer: umm.. tell him Lord Vader says "Thank You" Gallardo: affirmative, *chuckling* does this come with Hazard pay? Officer: Yes actually, and if you are successful in delivering the message you will have the freedom to chose your next deployment. Gallardo: Yes sir! i will leave immediately! *Patroling the war torn Surface a ship matching that of Boba Fett's is spotted* Gallardo: Star Ship Firespray, Identify yourself! Firespray: ------ Gallardo: Star Ship Fierspray, i repeat Identify yourself! Firespray: ------ Gallardo: Command, this is Imperial Patrol 300418, I'm in pursute of a Firespray class ship, its not responding, what are your orders? Command: Do Not Fire! this is a peace mission. follow that ship, Boba Fett is notorious for not responding when spoken to. Gallardo: Affirmative, pursuing unidentified Firespray class ship. the Junk wall, notto be confused with rocks, i wanted the appearance that this was a cliff made from ancient structures, ships, and who knows what else, with the possibility of collapse at any moment. imperial hallway, simple efficient and clean I had quite a lot of fun with this challenge, below are a couple pictures showing the scene in full and how it managed to fit in a 16x16 box! (barely) Changes from original: Base has been redone to remove the white, and to clean up the presentation. Rusted junk wall/rocks have been redone to minimize floating bricks, this wasn't completely achieved due to my small assortment of browns. check the spoiler below to see the originals. over all it was minor changes. Hope you enjoyed this episode! and Constructive Criticism is welcomed! Edited August 30, 2014 by GallardoLU Quote
-Horizon- Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 Nice build Gallardo, I like how you fitted two scenes in one. Quote
MstrOfPppts Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 I'm usually not a big fan of MOCs including multiple scenes though I think that in this case it really works well. The two builds are not interfering with each other and the execution is well done. I just think that there's too many colors used for filling the build that are only seen from the sides (white, black, both grays, ...) and I'd also skip the green plate under the build. The rockwork is a bit too random at some places but the interior and the micro ships as well as the wreackages are very well made. Also a nice idea to go microscale to be able to include more on that small base. Quote

Yzalirk Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 Nice MOC! The minifigs are great, the scenes are great, and I really do like the micro ships! Quote
Wat Tambor Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 Nice little creation! I really like the idea of splitting the MOC in two seperate scenes, one in minifig scale and the other scene in micro scale. Especially your SoNE minifig looks so cool, may I ask where that head is from? Is it from a SW set? Quote

GallardoLU Posted August 18, 2014 Author Posted August 18, 2014 (edited) Glad you like the combo, I didn't note it in the first post but the Minifig part was actually an after thought. I built the micro scale hillside and wreckage and had a large empty area under it, so I built the Minifig scene to fill that space too. as for the head piece it is from the Sith warrior in set 75025: Jedi Defender Class-class Cruiser. *Edit: yes the above head is the one from 75025* Edited August 18, 2014 by GallardoLU Quote
markus1984 Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 Great creation! Like the idea how you do more scenes in one MOC. And all that on 16x16 - absolut great work. Many details and die micro ships are nice too. markus Quote
MKJoshA Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 You've done an excellent job combining these two builds into 1 vignette! The main idea behind a vignette is to show a lot of detail in a small space, while doing a micro-scale can achieve this, I feel that the to-minifig-scale show more talent. That being said, I'm really glad you have your first shot in here! I really like the open slope pieces you've SNOT'd on the walls. Excellent detail! I also really like your Firespray. It's not Boba's colors, but it has good detail. I feel that some of your terrain looks a little hurried. Maybe you meant for the gaps between some of the bricks to act as texture, but I think it just gives it an incomplete feel. But, overall, good job! Quote
Disco86 Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 That's really creative to combine microscale and minfig-scale. Really like that bounty hunter ship leaving ! And it really has the Ord Mantell style Quote
BEAVeR Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 Really nice micro scene you have there! I like how you paid attention to the entire scene, from the ships and their posing to the background and the layout. Well done. I like the micro ships (although, if I'm not mistaking, the Slave I design is from the advent calendar ?), and they are great for the scene, but the coloring is a bit weird. The central cockpit of a TIE should be light grey (unless you have a special edition one?), and some green in the Slave I could be nice (in fact, you have a great opportunity to color the grill tile green, as you have both green and grey in the same area then, nicely blended). Apart from those 'active ships' the wreckage looks good. The models are a bit simple, but they do the job in the blurred background, but as a creation an sich, they could use some more details. So dive into your parts bin and look for those small detailed pieces usually in the form of minifig accesories: they make great details because of their tiny markings and shapes. Some more wreckage would also be nice (I like it that much ), although you should make sure not to loose the deserted feel. So patches with a high concentration of junk would be nice (possibly just a pile of those minifig accesories could be enough). They would also break up the sharp color contrast you have in the landscape right now. The cliff is pretty well made, and the small straight pieces that make it weir in minifig scale, actually do really well in micro scale as ledges etc. But even without those, there are some great parts usages in that rock, and it looks very good, except for those visible studs and random grey bits. You can have them, as long as they have a ledge to rest on, because we don't want to defy physics... And on a different note, the hard shadows of the ships on the cliff ruin the realism just a little bit, because on such a dusty planet, such harsh, direct light would not be too abundant, I suppose... Finally, I like the minifig part, those cockpit pieces are awesome there. I wouldn't so much play with different colors there to make it more interesting, but more with textures like grill bricks or protruding tiles. That would be more Empire-like. But all in all, very nice minifig part and great microscale part. Keep chasing that ship! Quote
GallardoLU Posted August 30, 2014 Author Posted August 30, 2014 Update: First Post has new pictures, to show changes made. over all not much different but it feels more finished now. hope you like the changes. Quote
Jacob Nion Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 Great scene. The mini scale ships work pretty well. The landscape is perfect. The ship wrecks make it look like some maps from empire at war. Good luck to you Quote
