Pointblank Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 (edited) Episode VI - The Hunter becomes the Hunted After a successful mission on Endor, the construction of the Shield Generator was finally put back on track. Much blood was spilled, many Ewoks were killed, and many habitats were razed in a record time to make way for the Shield Generator. However, there has been growing sympathisers within the Imperial ranks towards all things sentient, that found Pointblank’s methods extreme and ruthlessly efficient, and made several complaints towards the Imperial command. Pointblank was relegated to performing unofficial sideshow tricks and duties, but his recent actions on Endor did catch the eye of the more reclusive Imperal Survey Corps. Many missions came and gone with relative ease. Just today, a mission came up personally marked “For your EYES only” to PointBlank through the ranks from Lord Vader. This particular mission has roused the attention of PointBlank, only because it involves the hunt for the undoubtedly the greatest bounty hunter of all time – Boba Fett. The mission was to deliver a “Thank You” package to Boba Fett, from Lord Vader. The package came in a nicely wrapped unassuming box, and Pointblank’s surgically enhanced senses did pick up a soft ticking with the package. Not known for his inquisition, but known for his no-questions non-subtle way of performing duties, Pointblank disregards it and sets out to look for the fabled Boba Fett. On board of Intolerance, Pointblank has manage to track Boba Fett to a secret hideout on Ord Mantell and quickly learnt that he may soon make the jump to Mon Calamiri. However, he quickly found out through all the chatter in the bounty hunter channels that Pointblank is not alone in delivering a package to Boba Fett, and this has set Boba Fett on high alert and keeping a low jittery profile. That also meant that trouble may be expected in Pointblank’s quest to delivering the package. “Finally, I get to have some fun” Pointblank thinks to himself with a grin. =========== Part 1 - Ord Mantell http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=99502 Aftermath: Ord Mantell was a waste of time, and Boba must have been alerted by the Imperial Crew and fled Ord Mantell. Part 2 - Mon Calamari After the first unsuccessful stop at Ord Mantell (WIP), Pointblank decided to operate alone and have the element of surprise on Mon Calamari. Quickly getting into the Aquatic version of Penetrator (Drop Pod), the drop pod lands in water near the location where Boba Fett was thought to be. A Karkadon bounty hunter appeared near the drop area, and appears to be after Boba Fett too. Boba Fett, seeing Point Blank, launched himself out of the water, shot through a glass passageway and attempts to get into the compound. Pointblank does a quick eject underwater, and having Boba in his crosshairs of his pistol set to stun, the package is about to be delivered. “You are mine!” grins Pointblank. Continued at Part 3 - Bothawui Alternate Views Final Version Changes to previous 1) Kept to 16x16 by removing sloped pieces and increase overall water depth by 1 brick to allow for more visibility into underwater scenery, and also allow mid-section cut-off (half above half under) of Pointblank 2) Added NEW base, more underwater plants, underwater air bubbles and a clam. 3) Changed Pointblank uniform for underwater gear, changed Karkadon gear and Mon Calamari gear to Stormtrooper attire 4) Added more details on Penetrator, and more details on glassed walkway above water. 5) Fixed missing gun on Pointblank :) 6) Attempted better photography Thanks, comments and criticisms are welcomed. -Horizon- Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 (edited) Nice job PB, I really like the shattered glass effect. Good Job. The only problem if Pointblank has his pistol on stun and has Boba in his cross-hairs... Where is the pistol? Edited August 17, 2014 by lego3364 Quote
Yzalirk Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 Nice MOC and the shattered window and jet-pack effects are really cool! Quote
GallardoLU Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 (edited) i know overhang is allowed, but i am concerned that the Mon Calamari is standing outside the 16x16. the rest of the build looks really good, just needs some final clean up near the glass windows. (some foundation would really spruce it up well) Edited August 17, 2014 by GallardoLU Quote

I editted the text before I could modify the picture, will defintely add that in :) Nice MOC and the shattered window and jet-pack effects are really cool! Thanks for your comments appreciate it , it is still a WIP, I am not entirely happy with the water and jet pack effect, I envision something different, but can't find enough time to tweak it. i know overhang is allowed, but i am concerned that the Mon Calamari is standing outside the 16x16. the rest of the build looks really good, just needs some final clean up near the glass windows. (some foundation would really spruce it up well) Agreed on the Mon Calamiri dude, I will probably change that slope a little to create more space, and shift the top a little in, and perhaps a tiny conveyor belt to simulate the passageway. markus1984 Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 And another great MOC for the Empire . I like . Good job and great details! markus Quote
MKJoshA Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 Great WIP picture and story! You are dangerously close to abusing the rule about major changes to a WIP after submitting it since this contest is based in part on timing, but we'll let it slide this time. As for the overhang, it is a little much. If it were just the glass it might be ok, but the fact that you have the Mon Calamari, a ledge, and the action of a window breaking all over the 16x16 limit, I think I will have to say that it should be modified. Now, on to the build itself! I really like your undersea plants! The colors look a little blocky as it changes from one shade of blue to the next, but your choice of plants is great! I also like how you've managed to show so much action with the trans-clear bricks. My suggestion for that would be to take your pictures carefully to still try to hide as much of them as possible. The window breaking is beautifully done, though with your improvements I suspect it will only get better. Keep up the good work! Quote

I thought since the first few is out, there isn't a need to rush things out, which I really didn't. I have made some revisions since, but I'd probably leave it nearing to the end all things considering then. I thought it better earlier to garner opinions and criticisms, and improve on them with every iteration. For sure, I will also move the Mon Calamari to fit into the 16x16 as well. And another great MOC for the Empire . I like . Good job and great details! markus Thank you Markus. A big fan of your work, hence I look to learning from you :) Quote
Disco86 Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 A lot of stuff going on, on that small space. Cool to see the underwater and overwater action. Especially these jetpacks are in good use. I am excited, what you are changing for the final version ! Quote
MontyPython Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 Those are pieces from the largest Agents set, right? Very nice MOC so far, with lots of transparent pieces which make it very unique. Quote
Wat Tambor Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 Nice little MOC for the Empire! Your character's jetpack reminds me of the battle between the clones and the droids in the Clone Wars cartoon movie on Mon Calamari. Keep it up! Quote
Pointblank Posted August 27, 2014 Author Posted August 27, 2014 (edited) Edit: Close-to-final Version and Added Part 1. Need to do something about that border :) Edited August 27, 2014 by Pointblank Quote
Covi Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 Very nicely done! Alot is happening in this build which is very nice considering the size restrictions. Quote
Pointblank Posted August 29, 2014 Author Posted August 29, 2014 Thank you one and all for the great comments and suggestions. I have taken them onboard and modified them accordingly. I may do some final tweaks, emphasis on May, as Im about 99% satisfied but this build is very sensitive due to the loose studs and tight spaces. I may spend time doing a freebuild instead just to offer a better backstory to PB. I enjoy how disco and markus did with their characters and their story telling. Quote
Jacob Nion Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 Perfect idea to make a underwater section. The use of a round trans clear tile for the jetpack exhaust is brilliant. Quote
