Posted June 14, 200717 yr Hello all, sad news for the LEGO community: The dutch LEGO Fan and Designer of the new 10190 Market Street set has passed away. --> Lugnet announcement. My thoughts go to his family. :'-( :'-( :'-(
June 14, 200717 yr That is so sad. This man has left the world of AFOL's a great set, a good thing he expierienced the release of his set just on time. My thoughts too are with his family.
June 14, 200717 yr Oh that's horrible...just the other day I had been pointed to his blog where he was so happy about his new set. He responded to each and every person, and looked forward to meeting more at an event. He seemed like a happy, laid back guy :'-( I hope both he, and his family, will do well in the coming months, and I'll pray for them. I hope though, that this isn't a prank of some sorts. I mean he said he found out on the BL forums...not the most reliable source? Meh, wishful thinking probably :'-(
June 14, 200717 yr Thats horrible. I hope that his family finds a way to cope. This may sound insensative, but, at leas he gave us Market Street for us to remember him by before his passing.
June 14, 200717 yr A real AFOL and fantastic MOCer is no more :'-( His legacy is not only that thing of beauty that is 10190 Market Street, but his creations that were really astounding 8-

June 14, 200717 yr So sad... Although now all that we have to remember him by is his wonderfully designed set. But what better way to remember someone by than by the successes of his life? My condolences to his family. *sad* Edited June 14, 200717 yr by trooperdavinfelth

June 14, 200717 yr Eurobricks Emperor That's really sad news :-( :-( :-( Like myself, Erik was a member of the Dutch forum De Bouwsteen. I haven't bought the new 10190 Market Street set yet, but I really like it. He is a great loss. Edited June 14, 200717 yr by bonaparte
June 14, 200717 yr I just visited his beautiful and informative website a few days ago and was really interested in reading more of his intelligent thoughts about TLC's history soon. And now he's passed away - it reminds me of how limited our time can be... I did not know him, but I think all AFOL's thoughts and best wishes are with his friends and family now. He left great sets for which he will be remembered. Rest in peace.
June 14, 200717 yr This is really sad news :'-( . He was still so young, he still had an entire life ahead of him. Condolences to his family. Thank you for designing Market Street :'-) . We will never forget you!
June 14, 200717 yr I not knew him personally, but it was a shock to hear he passed away. :-( I wish the best to family and friends. I liked his mocs very much.
June 14, 200717 yr Thats sad news. :'-( I know what its like to lose someone. My mom died when I was 7. 2001. She died because of Cancer too.
June 14, 200717 yr :-( I don't think there's anything more for me to say that's not already been said.
June 14, 200717 yr Death; the inevitable and final part of life. I was looking at the new pictures of the #10190 and then I saw this topic... Edited June 14, 200717 yr by Wobo Ihi

June 14, 200717 yr Erik take care up there in heaven.. Actually I'm hoping he'll get reincarnated. We need more sets like the Market Street.
June 15, 200717 yr Rest in peace. *sad* You have inspired many FOLs to make wonderful creations, but none nearly as good as yours. At least you are now salvated from this cruel world full of war and hunger and sorrow.Where you are now, only positive is a word. :'-(
June 15, 200717 yr Rest In Peace, and condolences to all who knew him. If Heaven is whatever we want it to be, it'll definaitely be built from Lego.
June 16, 200717 yr :'-( Oh dear! This is terribly sad news, even for people who didn't know him at all. A death of a person is a sad, sad thing, R.I.P. *sad*
June 17, 200717 yr I'm not sure that's a good thing to say, Wobo Ihi....... Why not? If people believe in heaven, why can't I believe in reincarnation? We're not supposed to discuss beliefs in this topic though. I'll miss you, Erik.
June 17, 200717 yr Why not? If people believe in heaven, why can't I believe in reincarnation? We're not supposed to discuss beliefs in this topic though. I'll miss you, Erik. It's OK to believe in reincarnation, but the fact is,the way you said it,it SEEMED like you only wanted him to live so that he could design sets again.Of course,we all know that it's not what you meant. ;-)
