Where is the Brickshelf closing thread?
Hi all! Sorry for a probably unnecessary thread, but I just fail to find the thread about Brickshelf going away for forever. I couldn't find it even in my posting history and I posted in that thread. I so cannot find anything that I have the feeling I am in a parallel universe or my mind has gone. Please help my poor soul and sorry if it was in front of my eyes...

It's what I guessed. They use whaveter fits. I think arrows are more usual, but in that particular case it would have been confusing because the pin shouldn't be pushed all the way in.- 42177 Mercedes G500 4X4
Pastelling can also be confusing (harder to identify where the new parts should go, so you have to rely more on your work memory or have to page back and forth), I guess LEGO tested and found color vomit slightly better for building experience of an average (non AFOL) person. Always contouring can also be confusing because it hides fine details of where the new parts should go (for example pinholes that you can count, occlusions, etc). So occasional pastelling/contouring/arrow/single-part-callout when necessary with slight color vomit is the most convenient from building process point of view.- Naked Motorbike 1:5 (WIP+questions)
Thanks for the comments! I posted of a real motorbike photo too for reference, that's kind of what I have in mind behing the thick fog of laymanship. The double wishbone suspension is there for two reasons: -a bit unusual, so for coolness effect -handles better in Lego version. I want the model to be playable, which means I want to give them to kids without explaining how to handle and without the risk of serious damage. The telescopes are prone to get stuck when pushed in a too slanted position, which is the default position in a bike. So instead of actuating, the whole assembly would bend (I hope that makes sense). My setup has much less problem with it, it actuates however I push the bike and the fork assembly doesn't get damaged. If you have trained eye: does the current version's proportions look acceptable for a streetfigher style bike? Do you notice something that's off? I'm a total layman when it comes to bikes.- Naked Motorbike 1:5 (WIP+questions)
I reworked the chassis and made the rear arm pivot position more realistic. I'm still struggling hard with the bodywork, but the overall proportions start to look okay (especially in comparison with the previously posted state), though the rear arm is one stud too long. I don't know if I want to put too much effort into it, I kind of like long motorbikes. The clutch cover is fake unfortunately, just like in the new set.- General Part Discussion

Lipko replied to Polo-Freak's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingThank you! That is it! Though it's very old. I'll look for other solutions first.- General Part Discussion
Lipko replied to Polo-Freak's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale ModelingHmm, that new part seems useful, unfortunately not possible to sculpt from an existing part (something I do nowadays so I don't have to wait for new parts to be avaliable). A totally unrelated question. My part finding skills are very poor, and I'm looking for a part if it exists at all. 1L spacer with a pinhole (like the 1L liftarm) but with a rim on one side. Like a small cup. For some reason I remember such part exists. Or if it doesn't exist: the LOTR ring part is half stud thick, or plate thick? I need these for a one unit diameter wedge belt wheel. The rubber band keeps wandering off from a simple 1L liftarm, and the only possible connection is a pin.- Technic Pub

Maybe the problem with the animal theme is that most people think that means organic shapes. What I meant by animal theme is an animal inspired theme. Be it mecha, kinetic sculpture, replica of a toy, etc. The animal-like figure should be the main part, so an animal transporting vehicle should not be allowed, I hope you get the idea. So no, the model doesn't have to be a fury perfectly moving replica of an actual animal.- Generic Contest Discussion
