So during my visit Saturday and Sunday, I went to the Star Wars Theme Zone more than once. It was pretty cool and surely aimed at the main target group - kids They had members of the Danish Star Wars Loge there dressed up as Jedi and Stormies. Kids could fight a Jedi in a deadly duel and then be awarded a small prize - the White Boba Fett minifig - when they've 'defeated' their opponent. There was a Cinema area where you could watch Revenge of The Brick and almost every Star Wars ad from the past 2 years. They also had plenty of free-build space tables, where you could build whatever you pleased. The free-build tables were filled with parts from different Star Wars Sets, especially the parts from Slave1 were easy to spot. Several Boba Fett minifigs there - just not on Saturday. They all "dissappeared" on Thursday which was day 1. I don't blame the kids though - I think I'd do the same if I was their age. They also had a bunch of upscaled minifigs - Boba Fett, Yoda, Luke, Anakin, Stormtrooper, Kit Fisto and a few more. The coolest thing was that kids could sign up to build a set with a real LEGO Star Wars designer. A pretty neat thing to do - when I was there they build the 2 battle packs - I guess they had to keep it small to get the most people through. One of the guys sitting there was Chris - who was really friendly and after talking to him, I was sorry I only caught him on his break between kids building with designers. First of all because I snatched his break, but also because it was great talking to him about LEGO Star Wars and such. I hope to get to speak with him again some day. And that was basically it. A great place with some very friendly people

For LEGOWorld in Copenhagen this year, Bo Jensen decided to remake and vastly improve his earlier Hoth Diorama, which he did for LEGOWorld 2009. It was later taken apart, but Bo had been considering to do it all over over. - Just waaay better and bigger. And he's done just that! He's spend around 25 hours per week the past 11 months to get this huge diorama ready for LEGOWorld. It weighs around 750 KG's and consists of more than 1,5 million bricks. When asked about when he has time to work, the reply is :"When I'm not building!" He loves to build and especially build big. In 2009 he did .In 2010 he did .Bo, who's 47, admits that building at this scale can be very expensive. If he were to buy the parts for this build through for example PaB on shop.home or via Bricklink, then the price would be around 350000,- Dkr which is just around one year's full salary for a well paid job - before taxes There's plenty of snowtroopers and rebels in the diorama, but Bo has no count on how many there is exactly. There's 4 train engines built into the diorama to make the Snowspeeders and speeder bikes move around and there's 2 motorized AT-AT's walking there as well. As this (short) interview began, Bo had to replace the batteries in one of them for the first time, it's been running/walking for 22 hours in total. A for power functions, eventhough Bo would never replace 9V train engines running the rest of the moving parts of the diorama. It would just get too bulky and difficult to handle. The final question before letting Bo off the hook and back to moving the AT-AT's back to the beginning of the diorama, was: "What are you doing for next year's LEGOWorld?" "I might redo Endor - I need to make it bigger and better!" A slightly obvious answer. Of course it has to be bigger and better And did I mention that Bo has a great urge to tile everything? Now for pics and a video of the whole thing. Thanks for talking to me Bo and best of luck with future dioramas. Better resolution of the pics can be found in our flickr. And here's a video on it from Supersteendk on YouTube:

Enough of those videos. With three posts you've promoted your videos on youtube, enough is enough. We've already seen the pics a zillion times - no need to see them in a video slideshow as well

I hope to go there on Sunday too. Definately Saturday. Where are you supposed to be when working on Saturday? Perhaps we could drop by and say a few "Hullo's"?

Amazing work ISC. So many neat design details - I especially like the use of train tracks for the sign blogged

On the 10th of February the official presentation of Star Wars Miniland in LEGOLand DK was held. Here's the pics from the press material. For high resolution go here

What's this? This topic is for showing your army and displays - not for spamming with posts on your biggest sets. Get real or perish trying.

1-5 for me. Not quite sure about when and where, but I'll work something out now that Morten has skipped

Thanks Kiel. blogged And the new sabre colour looks great - oddly we're back to having bubbles again

Wow, that's truly amazing ACPin blogged

Wow, you didn't even read the post, did you? It's all there - just follow the links and you'll be taken to a really great tutorial on how to do it. Now please no more talks on de-glueing

Yeah sorry about that, but we try to keep it EUR and USD. But once you know a price in USD, you can always just compare the LEGO Star Wars USD prices on sets with your GBP prices. All it takes is a few clicks on shop at home. I do this all the time as noone lists the prices in DKK

I was hoping you'd get around to posting these at some point and now you have They're pretty cool and I'd have to admit that I like the overall design of them. The only thing that strikes me as a little off is their feet, but it's still much better than what I could do. Thanks for sharing.

An amazingly well done review Rufus Lots of great photography to go with this one Sorry, but I just had to use your spoiler pic for the blog

At some point I spoke to one of the part designers / engineeers at TLG and we started talking about the light sabres. He actually wondered why they've been producing them with bubbles all along. No other trans parts are allowed to have bubbles and it's actually more difficult to produce them with bubbles than with no bubbles as the plastic is stretched and cut for the bars. Unlike other parts which are injection molds.

I've forgotten about that list in the beginning of the post - my bad. But the set itself has been listed among the other sets with info for a long time which usually is an indicator that we've gotten 99% confirmation about the set. Yup

Great alternates. Blogged

Must be. The N1 Starfighter has been on the 'confirmed' set list for a looooong time, so I have no clue as to why it should be a surprise now. It seems that plenty of members don't view the first post regularily or even visit the closed news topic which is always up-to-date... Their loss

What are you talking about? Remove the Naboo Starfighter as a rumor? I have no idea what you're getting at - sorry about that. The Naboo Starfighter has been in the list in the first post of this topic for ages. Feel free to doubt what we list there - but we're usually "spot on" when it comes to what reaches being added to the first post

Navy Trooper Fenson shares with us pics of the figs included in the summer wave sets. This is just a teaser Go to the 2011 Picture and Rumor topic to find more.
-
Thanks Navy Trooper Fenson. I've added the new pics to the first post. Feel free to deeplink for now, as there's no 'confidential' or 'prelim' on them.

It's actually quite good. Especially if you're having spicy Indian food. I do prefer weissbeer though - nothing beats that.
