  1. I was in TRU this morning and I picked up the Attack of the Wargs from the Hobbit theme at 50% off which put it at $29.95. It isn't my favorite Hobbit set, but at this price I couldn't pass up.
  2. You mean TLC prefer to make sets with blood sucking vampires and zombies rather than a psycho with a machete ?
  3. Or maybe a horror theme with different classic monsters, like Jason, Freddy, Michael Myers, the Scream monster, Jaws, Kin Kong, etc.
  4. I am sorry to see the monster fighters theme disappear, but I guess TLC have pretty much covered it now. I still think the whole horror/monster theme is a really good one with lots of possibilities. And kids love monsters. Personally I think we need an ocean/underwater theme, something that would bring us sets with diving equipment and crafts, submarines, deep see divers, underwater creatures. The flagship set could be something like the legendary sunken city of Atlantis or a deep water research station like in the movie "The Abyss". I think there are lots of possibilities in a theme like that. Also I think an arctic (or antarctic) theme would be interesting. Lots of possibilities for vehicles and equipments, polar research stations and outposts, polar bears, whales, snowmobiles, etc. That would make for interesting story lines as well. After the failure of the Pharaoh Quest, I am hesitant to suggest a theme that would be based on the ancient civilizations of America, like the Aztecs, the Mayans or the Incas. Lots of possibilities there too, big buildings (pyramids), some mystery, superstition and magic surrounding all that, some Spanish conquistadors and their ships to add a little bit of conflict into the mix.
  5. I purchased the Republic Gunship from Costco. I'm keeping it in the box until Christmas and will build it with my daughter. I also very much like the Ewok Village, but it seems very expensive ($299 over here).
  6. I got 3832 out of 20000. I also got the Unimog U400 and the new mobile crane 42009 but I'm keeping those for my kids' Christmas.
  7. Hello all, I signed up today. I wanted to let forum members from the Toronto area (Canada) know that I picked up the crawler 41999 yesterday at the Lego Store in Sherway Gardens mall. There were three left on the shelf. The guy in the store knew about the trouble people had to find it and also was aware of the speculation that is already going on online, but wasn't too sure how come they still had some in stock in his store. For those interested, and if you hurry, you might still be able to get one. I built mine between yesterday and today, it took me about 7-8 hours but I'm not very experienced with Technic. It's a very nice machine.
