Canadian Eh?
For those in Western Canada that has a London Drugs, Was just at the London Drugs in Calgary Royal Oak and they had two boxes of the series 3 minifigs come in, (no i did not take all the elves) I just rounded out my collection. The lady there said they would have two more boxes in maybe this weekend and they are waiting to see if they get the rest of the boxes in that they ordered. I guess series two sold like hotcakes there. Keep your eyes peeled for other LD stores to get them, but Royal Oak has two boxes out with more boxes to come. Price is $2.99 oer fig.

Actually per capita, they have the largest number of Lego club magazine subscriptions here in Calgary. (main Reason) And the upgrades/expansion to the mall. Okay some clarification after talking to the Store manager, he says it will probably be in Vancouver. So it is not a forsure thing if we pick apart his words. As well as the Lego trivia, in the end it was kinda lame. He gave away another green grocer and an ATOT dropship, here were the questions. What is his sons name? And, "I'm thinking of a star wars character" So it was more random chance/guess that you got it right. The answer was Joshua and Lando. he did not even get to me both times to ask as someone guessed the correct answer already. There was one question that he asked for a large duplo set, How many Lego stores are there in the world. That is all I got. Ari

I am going back again today when they finish off the 8 ft buzz light year and that is when they have another trivia callenge for some real big sets, no idea on what sets they are giving away, but so far they have given away a Green grocer, a venator, a fire brigade etc. So I will find that guy again and ask him if he knows the timeline on the opening of the Lego Store in Vancouver and the place they intend to open it. Again, for those BC members, I am only passing on info that the manager of the Disneyland Lego store has told me. (It is not set in stone until we get confirmation from Lego) But I will try to dig a little further for you. Ari

So After visiting the Lego store again today to see what the grand opening day special was (a horseback riding cowboy) I got to talking to the store manager from Disneyland who is up helping out for the weekend and here is what he told me. Vancouver is going to get the next Lego Store. No idea what mall or where in Vancouver. Again, this is direct from the manager of teh Disneyland lego store. Take it for what its worth. Looks like Lego is trying for a west coast invasion first. Ari

Well, I took my three nephews to the grand opening of the Lego store Chinook and it was mass pandemonium inside and outside the store. The master builder had a lego trivia for damaged boxes of large sets, my one nephew won an AAT. And just when he was coming to ask my other nephew what theme came before power miners, and as I told him the answer, i guess i said it too loudly. The lady beside me heard me and told her son and thus he won that set. (oh well) He also asked another question for a new Fire Brigade, the question was, in what city did he design a lego room for the tv show extreme home makeover? I wanted that set, but could not google it fast enough as I did not know the answer. There was an hour long wait to just get in the store along with another half hour wait to get to the cashier. One worker said that so far they were only behind the New York Lego store opening for total sales. (though this cannot be verified) The special today was a duplo brick with the store opening on it and a picture of Buzz lightyear. Anyways, I am heading back to the store on Sat to get a special set to the first 300 customers that spend over $35. No new Star wars sets either, which has me down, since that is what I am waiting for. Ari

Hey MacK, The PaB wall cups have the Canadian Lego mark-up so they charge $20 for a large cup, 50 cents off if you bring in your old cup. The wall is pretty pathetic for element choices in my opinion. Some standard elements and lots of wheels, windows for cars, etc. stuff not so great for MOC'ing. The rest of the store is like any standard Lego store, no new Summer star wars sets, all the new castle sets (impulse to army to the large castle, they even have a lot of Market village) Ari

Well, I can confirm that the Chinook Lego Store is now open. My Bro in Law already went in this morning at the opening of the doors. I am heading down to check things out after lunch as I have to work this morning. No word yet on any specials or deals. If there is, I will post here. I will also take pics, but may need some help as I will have to post them from my Blackberry. Pretty fun day. I hope the PaB wall has some great elements. Ari

LEGO Collectable Minifigures General Discussion
Very likely Blue and White...... Here in Flames Land, I went to a local Walmart and they have 10 open boxes, each fig is $2.86 CDN. They have shown up in many different Walmarts here and around our city.

If you head to the one at Deerfoot, the boxes (as of Wednesday night) were at the end of an aisle away from the regular Lego right in front of all the fishing lures, all ten boxes open, and lots of space and no one hovering over you. I had a good 45 minutes to sift through the boxes. So if you want to army uild away from the crowds and have 10 boxes to go through, check out Deerfoot. I will probably head back on the weekend to army build...... I would assume there would have to be a soft opening for the Lego store in Chinook, no word yet on when they will open the doors there, yeah CrossIron would have been sweet if they went there, I am about 10 minutes away in Kincora. Have you taken the kids to the world of wheels at the science center yet? Took my nephews and they had a blast. Some neat displays there too. Ari

Lego Brand stores coming to Canada!
They also posted on Monster.ca as Winbrant pointed out in the Canadian Eh? thread. http://jobview.monster.ca/LEGO-Brand-Retai...A-87770390.aspx It says Lego Brand in the heading, so I can only assume its legit.
