Just updated the Fairview Mall Pick-A-Brick page. It had been 7 months!! http://www.brickbuildr.com/view/pab/side/off/84/ The tires and wheels are different from what's available on the BrickBuildr selections. They are actually: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=56902 and http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=61254 They had white round 2x2 bricks with grilles in the back http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=92947
  2. I haven't forgotten about this! I'll try to get some pictures this weekend. I see that you modified it with tracks, great, I think I have more of those than the chain links, well I hope I do...
  3. Less than a week after I got my last shipment of parts for the Girls Tank you posted this guy! After a few more orders I'm now 23 parts away from my own Tachikoma. By the way, the tank works amazingly and is really sturdy. Just wanted to say thanks!
  4. Well if the average price of a white 2x4 is $0.13 and you use the 169 bricks in a cup guide, it would cost about $22 on Bricklink, not including shipping. Pick-A-Brick would probably be cheaper, but if you need to fill a bunch of cups, can your hands take the stacking!
  5. Even better! Some little girl grabbed my cup full of 1x1 rounds and cheese slopes, oh man, if she had dropped that. What's the easiest way to inventory those walls for BrickBuildr? I guess the most obvious way is to take a bunch of pictures of the wall, or more discretely would be to lay them all out in order on the counter, and take one picture...
  6. I was at the Fairview store last night. The BrickBuildr page is pretty far off now. Things they didn't have anymore: red containers & door, dark red wedges, levers, the modified wide wheel holder(they had the 2x2 plate one still and a black 1x4 one). Things they now have: Panel 2x2 Trans-Clear Brick 1x2 Trans-Black Brick 1x2 Dark Red Tile 1x4 Green Tile 1x8 White! Plate 1x1 Trans-Clear Plate 2x2 Corner Tan Cheese slope Trans-Clear Plate 1x1 Round - Trans-Light Blue (I'm pretty sure they're light blue and not medium blue) They had a bunch of square plates, I THINK they had 4x4 in black and white. They had a wheel mudguard I think it was this one in Dark Bluish Gray.

Most of mine have been pretty reasonable, but they were smaller boxes with just mixed parts, not large sets. My last few orders, in Canadian dollars: Belgium $17.18 + $4.15 shipping, France 22.06 + 1.84 shipping, Germany 20.45 + 8.43 shipping, Germany 49.59 + 8.97 shipping. My largest package was an Advent Calendar + 100 assorted pieces from Holland, which came out to: $42.22 + $21.35 shipping. (I've paid almost that much in shipping from a Canadian seller, ) I didn't need to pay any duties or import fees on any of those, just make sure they are shipping regular mail and not UPS/DHL/Purolator or whatever.
  8. Oh wow, they have a guide on their official site!! I don't feel so nerdy now. Although it's a little dated, and nets 136 bricks. I used this guys 169 brick version, it gets an extra row but sticks out a bit, so taping is needed, which they've always been cool with. http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=859676

I posted some pics of my haul from the Fairview Mall pick-a-brick wall over here. Linky. Not too bad, I managed 104 2x4 tan plates and 62 2x4 dark red bricks +200 other bits in one cup.
  10. I hit up the new Fairview Mall location in Toronto. They just have the basics and nothing to fill gaps with. Note to self, don't use a flash, especially with a white background... In my first cup I managed 168 Dark Red's, using the one of the 2x4's in stacked layers guides. They hadn't seen anyone using a print-out yet. In my second cup I used the same guide but improvised some of the layers. 62 Dark Red 2x4's, 20 Reddish Brown 2x4's, 104 Tan 2x4 plates, 45 Dark Bluish Gray corners... Going by Bricklink's average prices, that's about $30 and $37. Which is better than I thought when I was doing it.

Hmmm. There are no cheese slopes or 1x1 plates to fill all the gaps with, just the round orange one. Bummer. I'll have to make up for it by buying 4 Tripod Invaders with the Zellers BOGO sale...

Thank you!! I'm heading there tomorrow and I've been refreshing that page all week. A few minutes ago I saw the top row filled in and then bam it was done!

It hasn't been updated in a month. Brickbuildr site The Fairview store is on my home from work, maybe if it's not too awkward I can keep that one up to date. That's going to be dangerous for my wallet.
