The Legonater If it's a Imperial Shuttle you mean then yes we haven't got one in a while. Otherwise we've got shuttles every know and then. Why a UCS Imperial Shuttle? Well... Becuase there are adult builders like me who wants a mini figure scaled UCS model just like the UCS Millennium Falcon. Even if we're a small part of the LEGO community we also deserve to get stuff as the younger audience get plenty of every year. But it's true that the problem with the UCS models for the most is the price. Yeah, the interiors that TLC has put in the "so called" playsets are at best amusing to a 8 year old. sok117 I agree. Indianajones Yeah, I got it but even for me as a adult collector and builder it was dang expensive. Especially since Sweden/Europe almost have to pay twice as much per set compared to what the cost is in the US of A. k peek 2000 To me at least they're both good enough on the outside. The only thing I don't like about the new Tantive IV is that good for nothing interior. No interior etc in the UCS Tantive IV... You've clearly missed the point that it's UCS. Big Cam I agree with you but a set like that would be bloody expensive. Then again TLC's playsets has never ever impressed me as a adult and I think they're mediocre at best. Why I as a adult like the UCS models First and foremost I am a model kit collector and builder and I've been that for the most part of my life. I used to build the old MPC Star Wars model kits but even if I were a wee lad back then I never ever really liked them for several reasons. As those model kits were more like children's toys than scale model kits lacking correct shapes and details as well as being in a whole lot of different scales I wasn't too pleased with them at all. At that time I thought it was truly strange since there was some really amazing high quality scale models of military subjects etc already way back then but Science Fiction subjects were mostly made for and aimed at small children. This has of course somewhat changed today with all the amazing Star Wars scale model kits from Japanese Fine Molds that allows you to build to example really nice dioramas of for example a Rebel Base. These ideals I've somewhat brought with me into my collecting and building of the Star Wars LEGO line. I've collected and built the LEGO Star Wars line ever since the first mini figure sets were released way back in 1999 and I've managed to get a "huge" collection to this date. Seeing what could be made out of LEGO bricks I was truly amazed by this fact and I started to collect and build the LEGO Star Wars line. However... From the very beginning I thought it was a bit sad as a adult that larger ships like the Millennium Falcon, Slave 1 and Imperial Shuttle etc was "heavily <insert that tiresome argument>" and not correctly scaled. Of course I knew that LEGO was being made for and aimed at children but over the years I come to learn how big a thing LEGO collecting and building was amongst adults like myself all over the world and we basically got acknowledgment with the UCS line way back in 2000. At first I thought it was really cool to see 1:28 scale UCS models of smaller one man ships like the X-Wing Fighter and T.I.E. Interceptor and I as a adult had high hopes for the UCS line. Then along line came UCS models of capitol ships like the Tantive IV and Imperial Star Destroyer in different scales and I thought that was cool to. Then we got the mini figure scale UCS model of the Millennium Falcon that actually were in "true" scale with the mini figure X-Wing, Y-Wing, B-Wing and A-Wing Fighters etc that opened up a whole lot of possibilities for me as a adult collector. Now adults that have the money, room and time can for example build a Hoth Rebel Hanger with ships that are in scale with each other much like model kit collector and builders now a days can do. That's why I hope that the UCS Imperial Shuttle is a mini figure scale UCS model like the UCS MIllennium Falcon. Then again I truly like large (LEGO) model kits. Sweden - The One... And Only.

TLC said somewhere that the UCS model of the Millennium Falcon was the "first" UCS model to be scaled to their mini figures and as far as I know TLC never ever said for example that Cloud City was a UCS model except for some member here or there that claimed that some at LEGO Shop at Home customer service said that Cloud City was a UCS model. As far as I'm concerned the people at Shop at Home doesn't know too much about the product line." KimT Thanks. Yeah, it's been a real mix up. In the beginning at least they did print UCS on UCS model boxes but dropped it later. Dang. I haven't looked at the boxes for ages. Cavegod I seriously doubt that the shuttle will have a Endor landing pad. I can't imagine TLC doing the whole structure of it. I believe that it then would be way too boring a set for most people. roxio Interesting. I had no idea about that. But I guess it was because of some special deal between TLC Europe and Argos shops. Aeroeza Thank you. I haven't been posting here for over three years now but the discussion of what's UCS or not and a possible UCS Imperial Shuttle was too tempting to avoid. Interesting. Peeron also list the UCS models that way except for Darth Maul Bust and Yoda that they classify as sculptures. I myself list them that way as well. Yeah. Why TLC dropped the UCS title on classic UCS models is a mystery. Good points. I also hope that the 10212 Imperial Shuttle is a classic UCS model. Sweden - The One... And Only.

Regarding what's UCS or not The first UCS models that TLC made were 7181 TIE Interceptor and 7191 X-Wing Fighter that were released in 2000. These two UCS sets were widely distributed to toy shops and as far as I know they didn't sell good enough to be widely distrbuted (or at least not here in Sweden were they sat on shelves until they cleared them out for a 50 % discount). My half qualified guess is that it was the case all over the world as they were made for and aimed at the more adult builders and collector that's supposed to be 10 % of all LEGO sales. My half qualified guess is supported by the fact that 10018 Darth Maul Bust and 10019 Rebel Blockade Runner Tantive IV and (almost) every other UCS model from there on has been exclusives only available through LEGO Shop at Home and LEGO's own stores. This was probably done because UCS models sold good enough if they were sold directly from LEGO without any middle hands as toy shops. As LEGO exclusives only available through LEGO Shop at Home and LEGO's own stores have a 5 digit item number the UCS models from here on got a 5 digit number as "all" else exclusives did and have. Then we have the "mini figure sets" 10123 Cloud City, 10131 TIE Collection, 10144 Sandcrawler, 10178 Motorized Walking AT-AT, 10188 Death Star, 10198 Tantive IV and 10195 Republic Dropship with AT-OT Walker that probably also became exclusives because they were too obscure and expensive to be widely distributed through toy shops. So the reason for these sets having a 5 digit item number is just because they are exclusives only available through LEGO Shop at Home and LEGO's own stores and "not" because they're UCS models. They're just exclusive mini figure sets and nothing else. When looking at the LEGO Shop at Home webpage over the years one have found that the above "exclusive mini figure sets" have been listed under the cathegory "Ultimate Collector Series" which has added to the confusion of what's UCS or not. But from what I've observed about these cathegories they weren't really "pure" as a Clone Wars set could've been listed under Star Wars Classic and vice versa and so on so I've never ever taken these cathegories too seriously. I don't even think that TLC has taken these cathegories too seriously themselves so therefore UCS models and exclusive mini figure sets have been listed under the same cathegory. The fact that the last widely distributed UCS model, or rather sculpture, to toy shops in 2002 were 7194 Yoda was probably becuase LEGO thought the sculpture was "cute enough" to sell good enough to be widely distributed but here in Sweden at least I saw it collecting dust until I think it was last year at one toy shop. Sure, a whole lot of UCS models have been found on clearance at toy shops but that's because LEGO's clearing out their stocks and werehouses. And if memory serves me right... I still remember when I got 10018 Darth Maul Bust in september of 2001 and probably was one of the first in the world to receive it early and made a post about that over at From Bricks to Bothans where one hell of a flame war against me started amongst members and then webpage owner Tim Soap. According to Tim Soap and the president of TLC in America (or whoever it was) this was impossible becuase of this or that megablocks they said. Well... A few weeks later it turned out that one hand doesn't know what the other is doing as TLC in America appearently didn't know what TLC in Europe did or didn't. And did I get an excuse for that? Hell no. Anyways... So until TLC makes a official announcement don't read to much into what's UCS or not. So for me at least as a adult builder and collector the UCS models are UCS models and the exclusive mini figure sets are exclusive mini figure sets. I strongly feel that TLC should separate these two cathegories of UCS models and exclusive mini figure sets and keep them as separate brands if that's the correct word. UCS models for the more adult collector and exclusive mini figure sets not suitable for wide distribution for all of us builders and collectors. I believe that this discussion about what's UCS or not started when the fan boys started to read too much in to set number and cathegories over at LEGO Shop at Home. Maybe because they wanted a mini figure set like for example Cloud City to be ultimate when they unfortunately couldn't afford a true UCS model. Regarding 10212 UCS Imperial Shuttle I truly hope it's a UCS model scaled to the mini figures just like the UCS Millennium Falcon. At a piece count of 2503 it's certainly not impossible as it's less detailed then the Falcon and if it's based around a Technic armature it should be a decent model. A dwarfed mini figure version made with just 234 pieces like 7166 Imperial Shuttle and with a 2269 piece Endor landing pad hell no. The idea of UCS models scaled to the mini figures just like the UCS Millennium Falcon is a exciting product range for me as a adult builder and collector at 42 years of age. I'd just love to see the Imperial Landing Craft, Sandcrawler, AT-ST, AT-AT, Boba Fett's Slave 1, Jabba's Sail Barge, Sith Infiltrator, Gungan Sub, Trade Federation MTT, Jango Fett's Slave 1, Clone Turbo Tank, The Twilight, Count Dooku's Solar Sailer, Republic Attack Shuttle and Separatist's Shuttle as UCS or correctly scaled models to the mini figures. Yes, I've spent a whole lot of money on Star Wars LEGO sets as we in Europe and other countries around the world have to pay outrageous prices on LEGO so that the US of A can have them at almost 50% off. It doesn't matter what The LEGO Company says or explains about this fact as I don't buy that bs or any bs for that matter. Prices ARE outrageous. Well... As I wrote in my now updated report I've bought most of my sets, except the LEGO Shop at Home exclusives and a very few other not released here in Sweden that I bought on eBay, at "Barnens Hus" (The Childrens House) in the Birsta mall area about 10 minutes drive North of Sundsvall city. The prices on Star Wars LEGO sets and LEGO sets in general are lower at "Barnens Hus" (The Childrens House) than the suggested retail price and the prices on LEGO Shop at Home so I've actually saved some bucks/Euros over the years compared to the suggested retail prices. Sale? What's that? Just kidding and the answer is basically no. I think I've seen Star Wars LEGO sets on sale at most a handful of times here in Sundsvall, and in Sweden for that matter, in toyshops and toystores and that was years ago during the first couple of years after the Star Wars LEGO line was released in 1999. The handful of times that Star Wars LEGO sets were on sale years ago I already had them. And to buy multiples were also out of the question because when I had money they were sold out and/or the boxes left so badly beaten up that no collector would've bought them as pieces could be missing. But in the US of A sets aren't just 50% off our prices but go on sale as well! Discount? What's that? Just kidding and the answer is basically no. The only discount I've ever gotten is from "Torbjörn" who is the owner of the "Leklust" (Play lust) toyshop in Örnsköldsvik here in Sweden where my Star Wars exhibition was held. I got The Clone Wars sets 7673 Magna Guard Starfighter, 7674 V-19 Torrent, 7675 AT-TE Walker and 7676 Republic Attack Gunship from him at cost or around 50% off suggested retail price as a thanks for lending out my Star Wars collection to them as well as a few other encuragements like free tickets for all of us for the Star Wars exhibition. Especially all you younger Star Wars LEGO fans. As I'm 40 years old/young and got a pretty good income from working I've been lucky enough to be able to afford to collect the LEGO Star Wars line but it hasn't been cheap as LEGO is almost twice as expensive in Sweden as it's in the US of A. The LEGO Company just "shared" the Jango Fett and R2-D2 statues. They were "loaned" to the Leklust Toyshop. Oh, I wish that too. But even if The LEGO Company would've offered me to buy the statues I just simply couldn't afford them as I guess the price for them would've been up to 10000.00 Euro a piece and I'm not rich just working hard. No. I don't collect the exclusives. I forgot to mention that earlier. As I live in Sweden there's simply no chance at all to get those exclusives when they're available and with the prices they go for on say eBay I don't pay that much. simonjedi No hard feelings. The owner of Leklust Torbjörn made a guess that my exhibit in itself brought 10000 visitors to his toyshop. It proved to be very popular as some families thought it was better then the Star Wars exhibition. I were there twice and Lord all Mighty. From both second one I was there until I left I was quite busy not only talking to children and teenagers but adults as well as they were even more excited than the kids. Sweden - The One... I'm currently missing: 7666 Hoth Rebel Base, 7679 Republic Fighter Tank, 7680 The Twilight, 7681 Separatist Spider Droid, 10143 Death Star II, 10178 Mototrized Walking AT-AT, 10186 General Grievous 10188 Death Star. Otherwise I got all of the sets released so far including box variations and mini sets. Stuff like key chains, magnets and pens aren't included, I do collect them as well but I havn't a complete collection of any of them, as I don't count them as Star Wars LEGO sets. I don't collect value packs, collector's set, cases and maquettes. Worth to mention is that I only collect sets released in (Swedish) European boxes. Another thing worth to mention is that there wasn't room enough in the display cases for my entire collection why not all sets were on display. TheBrickHitHouse I know what you mean... However... Those glass display cases aren't my own. Those were especially made for my exhibition by the mall and Leklust toyshop and are owned by them as well. My Star Wars LEGO exhibition in Örnsköldsvik, Sweden from June to October/November 2008 Here's my report from and about "My Star Wars LEGO exhibition in Örnsköldsvik, Sweden from June to October/November 2008" in conjunction with the Star Wars exhibition held there from June to September 2008. How it all started Born in the glorious year of 1968 and growing up during the 1970's I got introduced to LEGO early on in my life when my grandmother Thyra, my mother Ruth and my father Leif usually gave me some LEGO sets for my birthdays and Christmas. As a child I got some really cool sets that I still to this day have saved but when becoming a teenager suddenly LEGO was something real nerdy just for nerds and something that was made just for small children so with a sad heart I left the LEGO hobby dreaming about getting all the wonderful and exciting LEGO sets that I saw in catalogues as a teenager until I went on in life and forgot about it all growing older. The discovery In I think it was april 1999 when I was at my younger sister Anette's place on a family dinner with her and our younger brother Fredrik's families I happened to discover a LEGO catalogue for that year and to my very big surprise I discovered that The LEGO Company were about to release LEGO sets from the first Star Wars trilogy as well as Episode I: The Phantom Menace. I was quite schocked by the fact that The LEGO Company had bought a license to make products of someone else creations especially as it was from a very successful series of movies as the Star Wars films. At the same time I was quite excited about these brand new Star Wars LEGO sets as they looked real good being made out of LEGO parts and I started to remember my childhood days building LEGO sets and doing MOCs. But being 31 years old I soon woke up and realized that I was way to old to buy, build and collect these Star Wars LEGO sets and went onto participating at my sister's family dinner and forgot about it all. The Very first Star Wars LEGO set Move on to the autumn of October 1999. I was bored and life in general sucked elephants dong. I was in the center of Sundsvall city one afternoon and passed by the local toyshop "Lekplaneten" (Play Planet) and looked at their window display of Star Wars LEGO sets. I looked at the display and after a few minutes I thought to myself "What the heck. I'm going to buy one of those Star Wars LEGO sets." and went in to the toyshop. I was looking at the Star Wars LEGO shelf and eventually decided to buy 7151 Sith Infiltrator from Episode I: The Phantom Menace. At the counter I felt a bit ashamed and blushed while muttering something about buying it for one of my nieces as a birthday present. After that I went home and sat down in the living room and started to build the Sith Infiltrator and after a hour or so I was finished and truly amazed of the Star Wars ship made out of LEGO parts. The beginning of my Star Wars LEGO collection As the Christmas of 1999 was just around the corner my younger sister Anette and her two daughters Angelica and Patricia asked me what I wanted for Christmas and it was at that moment I decided to start collecting Star Wars LEGO sets as I later on Christmas Eve got some sets from them as Christmas gifts. It was also at that time I bought all of the at that time released sets from the Star Wars saga. As the years went on I bought each and every Star Wars LEGO set that were released every year as well as receiving some from my nieces Angelica, Patricia and Jennifer as well as other family members as Christmas gifts and birthday presents. Over the years I've bought most of my Star Wars LEGO sets from a toystore by the name "Barnens Hus" (The Childrens House) about 10 minutes drive from Sundsvall and I've spent thousands of Euro there except for the LEGO Shop at Home exclusives of course. The phone call Over the years I've become a quite well known AFOL (Adult Fan of LEGO) and LEGO collector at the "Barnens Hus" (The Childrens House) toystore so the owners and most of the regular employees know me a little bit and I think it was in May this year (2008) that I received a phone call from one of the ladies in charge of the LEGO department at the toystore. She told me that she had talked to the guy who's the LEGO representative, that travells around the Northern parts of Sweden checking out that the shops and stores got what they need and taking orders from them, about some event and my Star Wars LEGO collection and that he wanted to talk to me. A surprise As the lady in charge of the LEGO department at "Barnens Hus" (The Childrens House) didn't really remember exactly what the LEGO representative had said except from wanting to talk to me I was truly wondering what it was all about so I called him and got a real good surprise. As I've met the LEGO representative a few times at "Barnens Hus" (The Childrens House) and talked to him about future releases as well as my collection of Star Wars LEGO sets, he explained to me that he had told a toyshop owner in Örnsköldsvik, where the Star Wars exhibition were to take place from June to September 2008, about my collection and that they had come up with the idea of a Star Wars LEGO exhibition at the toyshop in conjunction with the Star Wars exhibition. The idea takes shape So later I called "Torbjörn" who's the owner of the "Leklust" (Play lust) toyshop in Örnsköldsvik and he explained the idea of having a Star Wars LEGO exhibition at his toyshop in conjunction with the Star Wars exhibition and after a few phone calls working out the details I agreed to his proposition. So in June "Torbjörn" and his wife came to visit me and to pick up my collection so we packaged everything in large cardboard boxes and a few days later I took the bus up to Örnsköldsvik to set up my collection in the specially ordered glass display cases that they had for my collection to protect it from thieves, damages and dust during the exhibition. From second one I started to set up my collection until the moment I took the bus home I was not only busy setting up my collection but also busy talking to families, children, teenagers and adults as well as a reporter and the photograph from the local newspaper who were going to do a article about my Star Wars LEGO exhibition. Unfortunately the glass display cases were too small to make room for my entire collection so that a few had to be slightly rebuilt and some more had to be ordered but still my entire collection were never ever on display at the exhibition at the toyshop. My Star Wars LEGO exhibition in Örnsköldsvik, Sweden It was on display from June right before the Star Wars exhibition opened to I think it was October or November after the exhibition had packed up and left Örnskökdsvik, Sweden and it turned out to be a great success according to "Torbjörn" who is the owner of the "Leklust" (Play lust) toyshop who made a guesstimate that it on its own had 10000 visitors. According to "Torbjörn" a whole lot of families had said that they thought that my Star Wars LEGO exhibition was better then the Star Wars exhibition and that's something I'm truly proud of knowing that they and a whole lot of other people truly enjoyed seeing (perhaps) the or at least one of Swedens largest Star Wars LEGO collections. As my father Leif, my best buddy Daniel and I went to see the Star Wars exhibition in August I had the chance to also visit my Star Wars LEGO exhibition at the "Leklust" (Play lust) toyshop a second time to experience its success. Final thoughts I feel truly proud and honored to have been asked to do my very own Star Wars LEGO exhibition in conjunction with the Star Wars exhibition that were held in Örnsköldsvik, Sweden from June to september 2008. It was great fun setting it up and it was just as fun to meet all these families, children, teenagers as well as adults and talk to them about my collection, Star Wars LEGO and LEGO in general as well as the Star Wars phenomenon. However, I felt and still feel that more could've been done like me being there every other week or once a month but I was never asked to even if I made the proposition of being able to do so. There was also talk about a Television or radio exclusive but what happened to that I still to this day don't know what happened to. Except for "loaning" out the Jango Fett and R2-D2 statues to the "Leklust" (Play lust) toyshop The LEGO Company were never ever involved with or in my Star Wars LEGO exhibition and that's a pitty. I could have done so much more with my Star Wars LEGO exhibition but resources and/or interest were limited for one or the other reason but all in all I'm pretty pleased. But this summer, when the Star Wars exhibition visits Örnsköldsvik, Lasse Olsson catches on with his own Star Wars exhibition. In LEGO. We walk in through Port 9 in central Örnsköldsvik and to the lower level outside Leklust. There more then just children gets faschinated where Lasse Olsson, from Sundsvall, unpacks his enormous collection. There's a swarm of LEGO and for the uninitiated it's impossible to comprehend how a human being manages to put together everything at the right place. But it's only the summers heat that make Lasse's forhead sweaty and soon the exhibition takes shape. " I've always been interested by LEGO and building model kits. There's certainly a risk to be classified as a nerd, but that risk I'm willing to take, says Lasse and whipes the sweat from his forhead". His interest for Science Fiction is obvious and he looks nearly lyrical when we talk about old television successes like Space: 1999 and Star Trek the Original Series. And wether he's delighted about the ongoing Star Wars exhibition we don't even need to ask about. "It's fantastic and when I was asked to if I could exhibit my collection in Örnsköldsvik this summer I thought it was pretty suitable says Lasse who has close to 140 sets to show off". About no interior in this UCS model What's with all this talk that it's a shame that there's no interior in this model? Doesn't people understand why there's no interior? Seems so. This has been brought up with both the Rebel Blockade Runner and the Imperial Star Destroyer and people have complained. Why is there no interior? The answer is quite simple. Just look at the UCS Millennium Falcon once again. It's huge. It has complex shapes. There's the answer. Don't understand? Okay, I'll explain. For a model this huge there need to be a strong armature to keep it together. A strong armature takes a whole lot of room inside the model itself. The original design a.k.a. the original filming miniature has really complex shapes. It's here the second purpose of the armature comes in. The UCS Millennium Falcon is built around this armature just like the UCS Imperial Star Destroyer. The armatures second purpose is to make it possible to do all these complex shapes as they hook onto the armature. Hence no interior. But people doesn't seem to understand all this. It's designed the way I thought about doing my MOC one years ago. Sure, people can try and MOC one into the model and I'll say good luck. In order to fit a interior into the model you basically got to remove all or parts of the armature. Then you'll have a model that you'll have to design a totally different type of armature for. Good luck with that and then try and keep the whole ship together and look as good as we're getting it out of the box. Sure, there are some MOCs out there that has done all this but are they as good as 10179 and do they have the same type of armature? Nope. They don't. Then again 10179 with a interior would probably be just as bad and just as poorly designed as the interior of 6211 Imperial Star Destroyer. Has anyone for example seen a UCS Rebel Blockade Runner with a "real" interior? I sure haven't. This UCS Millennium Falcon sure was a great surprise even if it's way too expensive and out of reach for the most of the ones who wants it. It's scaled to the mini figures, and there's a cockpit for them, but still it's a UCS model so expecting a interior in it is just wishful thinking. Imagine the cost of a one with a interior. No, it's clearly designed as a model, even if it's scaled to the mini figures, and UCS models has always been about the outside and not the inside so it's no play set at all. Sure, you can swoosh it, God how I hate that silly term as I can imagine some running around swooshing in their underwear, but who in their right mind would do that and risk dropping it on the floor? I wouldn't. It'll be for display only. Interior or not you fan boys should be happy that it's scaled to the mini figures at least. Even I think that it's a bit cool as I actaully suggested such models way back in the days when intelligent discussions were possible at FBTB. I'm pre-ordering one in the next couple of days. copmike Yeah, I bet they will. Anyway. The way it works is that LEGO Shop at Home checks your card/bank account for some reason. Either to see if the card/bank account actually exists or if you actually got money. Then they reserve the amount of the order, but it's not drawn from your card/bank account, for say around three days until it's un-reserved again and you can use the money. Pretty stupid business practice if you ask me but that's how they do it. No other company I've done business with use these methods. Then when LEGO Shop at Home eventually can ship the item(s) when they're in stock they'll charge your card/bank account for real. But if you don't have the money they can't charge you and you'll be notified by e-mail. Then you got a few days to make sure you got the money available. If you don't they'll cancel the order. To me at least it's a real hustle. Usually a company accept your pre-order without this type of weird business pratice and only charge you when the item actually is available. But TLC is TLC and does it the other way around. Sweden - The One... And Only.

What makes your review superior to all others is because of your use of words and thoughts. You're using your brain as well as thoughts and feelings and that's intelligent. Unlike all others I've got no need what so ever for pictures as I already know what it looks like. Thoughts and feelings are what interests me at least. Once again: What a excellent review. This thread of mine was hijacked for some really dumb and lame a** jokes. Maybe this website should change name to From Eurobricks to Bothans. If a missunderstanding or even a conflict occurs the very best thing to do is to look into why it happened and then try to solve it without taking sides. A truly good and fair Admin does all that. He doesn't take sides. He plainly says: "It's a missunderstanding. This is how we solve it. Lets leave it to rest now boys."
