The figs look good and have quite a bit of personality, I like them. For the armor; I suggest that you go look for this set. As far as I know it's still available, only costs you a few bucks, and you also get a nifty golden visor. ... And a red transparent hook-for-hand.

Well, there's one new thing.... I was already suspicious about the new ' green' color of some parts in the new sets, but it appears to be glow-in-the-dark, like the teeth of the 2004 creator sets. Swell! Also, the wheelshaped boxes for the mini cars seem to be way to big for just that model... I can only guess why they have all that extra space. I'm hoping for extra models, tracks or a firing mechanism, but I'm not sure. maybe the package just seems big. Anyway. looking at the sides of the boxes, there appear to be 4 4-wide cars (all are known.. too bad, IMHO, I wanted more) 4 motorbikes (2 of which we now know) and 4 bigger racers (once again we only know 2 of them). edit: Apparently I was mistaken. The motorbikes and the bigger cars are in the same series. (this is especially apparent on the box of the 'buzz saw', you can see the red and blue of the motorbikes on the side of the box) So, there's only one series of four and we all know them. Also, some mook replaced the lego-fig-flashlight image on the police set box with... some dude I don't know.

I don't have a separate lego-page, I'm afraid. The things you see in this thread are pretty much the only things I bothered to photograph. Yeah, being into graphic design I try to get my pictures and graphics as clean as possible. (I needed to airbrush some black parts to make them stand out better, black is a female canine to photograph) If you're into rotating stuff, check My hoverbike.

Well... I didn't want it to look all that modern... the Mini Cooper gave a lot of inspiration. However, if you want to make an exact replica of a car in this scale, you often end up with impossible constructions and the limits of what Lego bricks can do. So, I created an imaginary car instead.

I wonder why you consider me a 'he' without knowing who I am. ;) Granted, being on a Lego board and talking about cars kind of brings down the odds of me being female, but still. :P (Also; I hope you folks appreciate my putting in all the hyperlinks. Took a bit of work, but it makes what I'm talking about a lot clearer, I hope)

Lego is a toy, and I find that racing my toys around adds a lot of fun to merely building static models. I always try to add some playability to the models I build. And yes, I'm a sucker for chrome :D As for putting the post in the review section... the sets aren't even officially out yet, and most of that is pure speculation :D Although, if you manage to get them for me or support some funding when the sets DO come out, I wouldn't mind reviewing them. :-D *cough*smilie overdose*cough*

These are two of my creations. Yup, I'm a racers addict. Ever since I found out that Lego now produces pullback engines (something I've been wishing for since age 6) I've been interested in them. As the racer models usually leave something to be desired, these creations were my tryout to build something nice around these somewhat clunky pull-back engines. Small, stylish; clone of a mini. Posted it some time ago at LUGNET, but as ApophisV here expressed some interest I thought I'd repost. Later on, I created a bigger version, twice as high, wide and tall as the small one. It lacks the cleanness of the original design, though. It's powered by a 3-wide engine. My goal was to build a sturdy bike, somewhat realistic, and fully playable. I suppose this is what Michael Knight would ride if KITT ever broke down. I'm especially happy with how the front looks. It really depends on the kind of lights you use. As we propably all know, Lego is harmed by sunlight. However, most christmas lights don't have the heat / power / UV radiation of that flaming ball of nuclear energy. I think what you have to worry about most is the heat development. I'd turn the lights on for an hour or so (not inserted in Lego in any kind of way) and after that hour just feel with your fingers if the temperature's increased. If you really want to play it safe I'd recomment using LED (Light Emitting Diode) lighting. It doesn't heat up, lasts long, can be very bright, and it fits ever-so-nicely in a technic hole.

My personal views/considerations/idle banter/opinion on the latest info about the racers sets: Technic: Very yummy. Lots of gears is a good thing. Proof that studless might even be the way to go. Yellow car: I second the Matchbox/Hotwheels car statement. Too bad that the mudguard part isn't really universally useable. I would love it if they doctored out some new and better version of The old mudguard part, like they did with the new World City sets. I kind of dislike having square holes where the wheels go in my 5-wide cars. The wheels seem to be connected using the old wheel connection , but I wonder if the tires are made out of rubber, or wether they are fully plastic like with the matchbox cars (adding to the 'flimsy toy' feeling of the set). I severely dislike the front part. Also, if you look at the back there's a big gray block. Possibly, the whole underside is one part like the car base 7*4*2/3 but I wonder why it's so big on the back. It's a stab in the dark, but I think that the first 2 4-wide cars (the matchbox-sized ones) will have some spring-powered shooting mechanism, for 'launching' cars. Black car: Flat. Ugly enginepiece. Yay for chrome, but seems uninspired. Lime/black racer: Will only be buying it for the parts. Wonderful 1*1*1/3 chrome circly pieces. Don't know much about the chrome windshield, I'd rather have something made out of transparent plastic. I wonder if they'll release more models of this size, like last year's 8380 red maniac. Red/grey/black racer: Weird curved pieces in the back, many printed pieces. (Personally; since I'm a parts harvester I'd rather have stickers, but I'll just order some Brillo instead.) It may have a pull-back engine, but I'm not too sure of it. One thing I really like; the chrome handlebars. I don't doubt people can use these pretty nicely. Orange parts pack: Well, it's just that. Nice selection of rare orange pieces. Hate the engine and the front part. All in all a likeable model, though. If only they'd made the engine like here... And I don't know how yet, but I'm going to remodel it so it has a pull-back engine inside, since it doesn't seem to have one. I'd love to race this car around. Bigwheeled contraption: Circle saws on cars aren't new, but I dislike it here. The 'hot wheels' paintjob (printing/stickers with flames and such) is far from stylish. It's not as much a car as a caricature of one. (Which can also be said of the other 'hot wheels' sets.) I suppose they'll release another 2 or 3 of this size (akin to the 8383 Nitro Terminator), I hope they have a somewhat better design. The slammer bikes: I enjoyed the recent bikes a lot, since they were quite recogniseable and in some ways even realistic. The new ones aren't very much so. (Flame parts? Please.) I've never owned any 'slammer' sets, but I think I'd prefer the self-powered ones. Bottomline: I'll be buying some of these for the parts. I understand that Lego is going for the kids here (And they should. Knowing how much fun I had with the recent racers sets and matchbox cars when I was a kid I understand the decision to go this way completely) but I was kind of hoping for something more...original. Don't get me wrong... I have a couple of reservations about new parts and stuff, but I do think these new sets will be quite enjoyable. I also suppose these won't be the only '05 racers sets, and I like that. Now the only thing to do is releasing a town to put all these cars in.
