I am. If technic just consisted of red, yellow, white and black models I would be bored out of my skull. The technic isle in the stores would look the same each year. That doesn't help attracting customers. I get why you think it's a problem, and that getting parts for a monochrome MOC can be very difficult. However, have you considered not building single-colour MOCs? Rare colours can also be used to add a bit of flair to otherwise plain builds:

You seem to have lost the point somewhere. It was never the intention of the retailer that these pictures got out to the public. He trusted someone who betrayed that trust. If we can go by the instagram story, of course. However, even in the instagram story the retailer knowingly and willingly shared the pictures with someone who shouldn't have had them. Also, I want to bet that the watermarks aren't the only thing that can identify the source of a leak to Lego. There are an infinite number of tiny variations or discolorations they could have put into the catalogues so that each is unique and identifiable in some way. just covering up watermarks is not going to cut it.

Tons of arguments that just boil down to "they already went this far, I am really upset they didn't take it just this one step further!" Gotta draw the line somewhere. Personally, I would've drawn it earlier.

I think Lego made a bad call from the start developing this model in the first place. I get it, it's got interesting functions. But throwing money at an arms manufacturer to produce a military vehicle (c'mon, those few stickers don't fool anyone) is a bad look.

I have a completely baseless prediction: Lego is going to produce a dedicated part to make 1x1 stud piston engines. Both the cement truck and the volvo hauler have had problems getting their engines to run smoothly, and I think a dedicated part may help a lot. I think they're going to start with an axle part, with maybe a possibility of attaching 1x1 round tiles to get different piston colours. But they also may decide a shorter cam part would be an improvement. Like I said, this isn't based on anything. But their continued use of 1x1 cylinder engines instead of the regular piston engines might merit an investment down the line.

As for the Sian itself- I'm pleasantly surprised. It's evolutionary rather than revolutionary, but it's a more attractive model than the Chiron. The door and spoiler mechanisms seem solid, and don't require a silly extra "key". Also, I'm very much in favour of all the new parts that have been introduced in Lime. I don't know if it's a side effect of Lego's 18+ branding, but the usage of different colours seem to be reduced a bit from previous models.

Lego is a company with a target audience of laypeople, not experts. If someone who doesn't have your galaxy brain buys a set and gets frustrated, they won't buy another one. Hence blue pins. If this is such a sore point for you, I recommend not giving them your money.

I think the differentials are the key here- you see a lot of them, in red. What they do here, is that they take the left input, and then the right input, and take the average of that. If you would build a system like this with three hammers, it's simple: the left hammer runs on the left input, which is a bit slow. The right hammer runs on the right input, which is just a bit faster than the left input. The middle hammer runs off the differential, and thus has a speed which is exactly the average of the two inputs. Fun thing is; you can stack differentials. So if you want to run the system with five hammers, you already have the speeds of the far left and far right hammers (which are the slow and fast inputs), and you have the middle hammer, which is the average of the two. If you want to figure out the speeds of hammers 2 and 4, you use another differential, which takes the average of the left input and the middle, or the right input and the middle. This system has 9 hammers, so, that's the previously described mechanism taken one step further. (Well, it has 8 hammers- for reasons unknown to me the leftmost hammer was removed...) I hope this all made sense, and that I got the explanation right. aeh5040: It's a great model, and I love the solution you came up with to keep everything running in time.

I doubt it will be olive for the simple reason they still have an olive-coloured car on the shelves. (See also the creator car sets modeled on real cars, which have all been given distinct colours)

Thanks! I don't know about 42099, but Lego's own Control+ app is pretty bad for the 42109; it artificially puts limits on acceleration and power. I recommend trying out brickcontroller2 or another app.

Does anyone know why Lego's control+ app requires location? At least with the top gear car, the damn thing asks for it to be turned on. I can see absolutely no reason for the app to require it. Are they afraid folks are using their set in the wrong place? Which place? (Aside from that, it doesn't seem to accept it even if I turn it on... damn shame.)
