So Season 2 had its premiere tonight. I thought I'd give my thoughts and such that I can regarding the show. I was upped in positionm due to work, etc. from last year. So there'sless I can joke about, but I'll gladly say this episode was fun. The motorcyle is a modified version I made for the show, so there is one MOC.
  2. I'll probably do terrible, but sign me up.
  3. Turn 19 is done by NOD! More foliage has been added as well as the rooftops of the two unfinished buildings.
  4. Turn 18 is done by KOTZ! Work was continued on the final building.
  5. If it was the Dying Corrie, we'd have a shako :P Next art gallery I make, I definitely want to do some more true builds for it and figure out a way to look them more painted in photoshop. I'm actually visiting the Getty Villa this Saturday and while it is definitely more Roman-esque (which at times fits OL), I'm hoping to get more inspiration.
  6. As NOD said, that carpet is great. The whole room looks great.
  7. Here is Turn 17 by Professor Thaum! He has added some nature on the edge of the build to show the surrounding jungle.
  8. Thanks! Yeah, I was rushing to get this one done due to the deadline. As for the statues, the one layiong down is more of a reference to Venus Victrix by Canova.
  9. Thanks!
  10. The clerics looked around the gallery that had been constructed. "Is it too simple?" "No, it's a style A statement." After the conflict, Nola Mar needed something to get life back into the area. Culture would do it, the clerics thought. So they built an art gallery. They commissioned works and bought some for the gallery. "Say, isn't that a tavern?" "I believe it is!"
  11. Fantastic work! I love the transformation.

Alright, so just to clear it out of the way, I consider myself a lapsed Catholic (raised in the faith, flirt with the idea of it every now and then) and am much more interested in the history of the faith and why things are the way they are. Like what is the context of this aspect of why people believe this part vs this, or why some consider this right and others wrong, etc. etc. We can talk ad nauseam about Catholic church good vs bad (same with any religion or sect or what have you). But oh man I would love to see St. Peter's Square and the surrounding Vatican City as an Architecture set. As I would love to see lots of other places. I think LEGO making minifigure based sets of Bible stories or Hindu stories or anything else is out of the question. I'll give my thoughts later on ones I do wish LEGO would make. But there is some great architecture LEGO is sorely missing that people would buy, be they (the buyers) religious or not. Architecture: Honestly everything in Vatican City. I admit I might be biased, but it is one of the most beautiful places I've seen. You have the Apostolic Palace, the Museums, the Obelisk, etc,) Western Wall: yes, it's "just a wall" but they could really do some beautiful techniques to make the bricks of the wall. Mecca/Ka'aba: A microscale Mecca and Ka'aba would look fantastic. Minifigure scale would be awful, but you could easily make this look good with great techniques for circular builds. But the point of this topic is Bible stories, which for most people mean the Judeo-Christian Tanakh/Old Testament and Christian New Testament. So below are stories I think LEGO would produce (if they ever did). Noah's Ark. Be it 4+ or something like a UCS, this one is a shoo-in. Everyone knows it. It's easy to adapt. David and Goliath: Probably a smaller set, but it has David with either kid or the teen legs and Goliath with something similar to the Sheriff Woody legs or even a body like Garmadon. Also one of my favorite stories of the OT. Maybe throw in a soldier on each side for safety. Jonah and the Whale: Include Jonah, a boat, and a whale with enough ability to "swallow" the boat. Maccabees (although people might say "No way!" to this one) and allows a more "fighter" ability/pack people can buy. For the New Testament, honestly, I don't know how I would feel if I saw a set about the Crucifixion. Maybe I'm a hypcrite where I say :It's ok to show this, but that is just bad."

And after a few months of travel, I've been able to get some more building done. I bought a macro lens for my camera as well, so hopefully there will be better details of photos. I'll play around in a bit and see what I can do for some fun shots. The two sides of the newest wall section. After this section will be another 32x32 that has a tower and begin the "Front" wall and the gatehouse. https://brickshelf.com/gallery/CaptainJohnPaul/Work-of-the-General/Castle/CastleOfSyndrifel/WIP/img_5719.jpg Most of the throne room has now been tiled. The outside of the library has been nearly completed. Still a lot to do. The inside of the library's first floor. I'm planning on tiling with bright colors and various low shelves to you can look through the windows. More outside wall photos of the first floor of the library. Next plan is to finish the wall section and continue building upwards for the library and include a small room/study for the main wizard/advisor of the castle.
  14. RULE UPDATE: As some builders are making their creations digital and others make theirs physically, there are possibilities that custom decals (e.g. minifigure torsos, artworks, etc.) are used. If you plan or wish to use these custom decals, be it physically or digitally, the decals must be used to highlight the builds rather than take away from the submitted builds. If making artwork, similar to LEGO Ideas' Spider-Man contest, you can create builds and drawings and insert them via sticker or digital decal (depending on if you are building physically or digitally), but they must be either a MOC or have a LEGO motif where it is clear the art is inspired by LEGO. For example, you cannot take a work by Rembrandt and insert it as an artwork.
  15. I'll see what I can do! And here is Turn 16 by CAPOnBOBS! He has completed the roof of the green building, added minifigures, and it looks like a cat is in there (details to be shown at the end).
  16. I've been laughing for a good five minute at this because I love it so much. Great work as always! Is this NO's Tiger King?
  17. Turn 15 has been completed by NOM! More minifigures have been added, as well as building up the green and purple buildings.
  18. Turn 14 - KOTZ worked more on the purple building and contued the green back building.
  19. Turn 13 - CAPOnBOBS has added a food cart, a cart with a crocodile captured (maybe ready for food, yum fried gator), and has worked more on the purple building.
  20. You're always welcome to join!
  21. Completely agree. There's some sets that when I hopefully go back to build I'll remember the fun memories, but there's stuff that was just not up to snuff compared to now. KKII for example, older Bionicles, some of the older Pirate sets compared tosome of the 2008 sets, etc.
  22. It's a really beautiful building.
  23. Turn 12 by NOD! He added a roof to the back building and some minifigure additions.
  24. And here is Turn 11! We're over halfway there! And if anyone still wants to join in, let me know. I've added a band (not sure why two of them are glowing...) and begun a building on the other side of the street.
