Not really. I changed it so that it's noted at the top of the Round. I never considered doing it with a different effect; I usually prefer to do things with existing effects, if possible. Also, the name of the effect, 'Encouraged', fits the themes of the class perfectly.

Having extra HP is just so much more useful than extra Ether. Even as a healer, more HP means not having to spend a turn trying to convert Ether into HP. Unless you're a pure support spell and scroll caster (which is not a bad thing, just very specific and perhaps not as fun to play in some situations), I would definitely prefer to keep the HP rather than get more Ether. That just looks more like a badass Alchemist forced to wear a wig and a dress uniform on a hot day.
