  1. So I've been told. The quest was great, Emjajoas (and WBD). I thought everything was well-done. I thought the battles were well set up. Every QM wants their enemies to last long enough to use those specials and inflict pain, but I find that it's usually the battles that only take around five Rounds that are the most enjoyable. Anything longer makes the quest start to drag on and detracts from things like problem solving, world exploration, and NPC interaction. I think QMs should aim for battles that are threatening and challenging to strategize for at the beginning, but which end fairly quickly once the heroes gain control with a little bit of cleverness and a little bit of luck. Intentional or not, I think you nailed that. I know there are some players who like to be continually fighting and strategizing, but from my perspective, when I meet a challenging battle, nothing makes me more satisfied than to see my strategy end a battle quickly, as opposed to just keeping us alive while we carefully whittle down HP over twenty Rounds. That being said, Knickers might've been a bit of an OP addition. Lucky and Hastened, dealt good Damage, and we didn't really have to care if it took Damage. I think it probably would've been a better choice to make it a Cleric rather than a Rogue, since the party had no healers. Then we might not have been able to neutralize the more threatening enemies, the ones that could deal Doomed, so quickly. Stories and roleplaying aren't exactly my thing; I make no secret of that. But I really liked how you wrapped things up by forcing the Marquis to kill Maya. I could kind of see the twist of his being their by choice coming (in large part because of Zeph and Guffington), but I didn't anticipate her forcing him to kill her, and I think it was a great way to wrap up the plot. So, yeah, I think you did an excellent job. Thanks for having me.
  2. "Well then, thank you and good day, Lord Stonekeep, Lady Stonekeep." Bowing my head, I exit the keep. "Master Vandagant, Lady Annienal, Master Barkley, it was a pleasure questing with you, and I wish you all good luck in future quests. Hopefully, we can team up together again sometime. Lady Annienal, could I have my shield back, please?"
  3. I would wait at least a couple of days, if only as a matter of courtesy, since Sandy should always have the final say in whether or not a quest is a go.
  4. "I'm happy to have been able to see your family reunited, Your Grace."
  5. Using Diplomacy. "Lord Stonekeep, I understand your position, but I cannot agree with your decision. "I have met many people in my career as a hero of Heroica, and you have been given an extremely fortunate place in this world. Like yourself, many people do not get to choose their future position, but instead of being born into a probable future of poverty or slavery, you have the privilege of being a member of the nobility. "You might not like this lack of freedom in today's feudal society that arises when an agricultural surplus enables manorialism but the merchant class isn't yet powerful enough in most places to challenge the local lords and support a mercantilist central government leading to commercial capitalism, but you can change that! You have the good fortune of having been born into a position in which you have the resources to support a change in society. "Lord Stonekeep, you know that this is a dream. No matter how perfect you make things turn out here, nothing you do here will matter in the real world. You are flouting your responsibility to become the Duke of Redstone. I urge you think of the future rather than just of your own short-term desires. If you want to live a life of honor, then honor the position that you've been given, and become the just leader that the Kingdom of Redstone will need. "May I also point out that, no, you are not free to have whatever adventures you want here. You may not want your position of power, but other people will. And when someone discovers that, in the real world, the heir to the duchy lies asleep and unable to defend himself...then your adventure here will suddenly and surely end. If you want to truly have control of your fate, then you must return. "I will not speak for my fellow heroes, but as for me, I cannot let you stay here."
  6. Don't worry about it; real life happens.
  7. This is not the place to have an OT vs. PT vs. ST vs. TCW vs. EU debate, nor is it the place to discuss the impact of Episode VII on the public opinion of the Star Wars saga. Neither topic has anything to do with upcoming sets, or even with LEGO Star Wars in general, so it would belong in the Culture and Multimedia forum. Thanks!
  8. As this is discussion of what's probably a clone brand minifig, I'll move it to Community... ...done.
  9. Indeed; I'd vouch for him as well.
  10. Plus a limit on the number of times the party can Rest in the Sanctuaries.
  11. Much of Miniland at LLCA is becoming the same way. There are a lot of cars that don't run anymore (you can see the worn-down tracks and charging stations along their routes, but they're set off to the side or set on top of a charging station to hide the wires and they don't move), boats that are half sunken, and at least one train that no longer runs because its track isn't a complete circuit anymore. And the park also has those small additions here and there that don't look as complete, plus all the buildings that look like they haven't been refurbished in years. The New England section that's tucked away in a corner of Miniland always seems to look the worst.
  12. Might have a hard time besting Leo Aragon in that department.
  13. All the information anyone has about the subthemes is in all likelihood educated guesses. It's highly probable that Brickset has the same source (JediNews) as we do, and whoever filled out their information just guessed that it was an OT set while I guessed that it was a Rebels set (based on discussion from the 2014 Pictures and Rumors topic). I wouldn't read too much into what anyone lists as the subtheme, at this point.
  14. If Eran is the good twin, then obviously the evil twin is named Nare. Eran is a Minstrel who was raised by their Chaotic Good barmaid mother, while Nare is a multiclassed Rogue who was raised by their Lawful Evil warlord father. You can tell them apart because Nare has a goatee.
  15. I'm not sure what links you're clicking on to get to shop.lego.com/us, but that's the wrong URL. S@H in the US is shop.lego.com/en-US/. I can't replicate the 'too many redirects' error by clicking on S@H links. I can't see any page resulting from clicking on Brickset's affiliate link, but I don't get an error. (Mac OS X 10.9.4, Safari 7.0.6)
  16. (A) Game of Thrones.
  17. "Fell off the tower" implies but does not necessarily mean 'dead.' It could, for example, mean, "Got pushed off of a tower, was in a coma for weeks, survived an assassination attempt, woke up paralyzed, traveled across a northern wasteland, and found an old guy underneath a tree who likes to appear in dreams as a crow."
  18. Using Diplomacy. "That depends, Lord Stonekeep, I presume. I only know the side of the story which I was told by the duke and duchess: that your lordship was under the spell of a witch, that the witch had been slain, but that the spell remained. Perhaps it would be best if you recounted your experience of those events before I jump to any conclusions."
  19. "I figure this will give us the best chance of landing a hit..." I use a Remedy on Knickers from the Back Row. Knickers consumes a Catnip from the Back Row. With its resulting second turn, Knickers attacks the Witch with its Cat's Claws from the Front Row.
  20. Interesting; those sound like TCW sets. Do you have a source for these names?
  21. OoC: When I Leveled-up, you changed my max HP from 77 to 79, instead of from 77 to 78. Not that I'll complain if I get one extra HP...
  22. "Great work, Master Vandagant!" OoC: Pfft, forget the rich text editor — this is why I go to university: so I can use my knowledge of markup to play online RPGs.
  23. OoC: I just realized that I'll never end up healing anyone because I go first. Wedge, could you stick my second action last in the Order? So it would be Docken, Annienal, Alexander, Alexander, Knickers, Knickers, Francis, Docken.
  24. I have no preference as far as high- or low-Level players for Quest 112, by the way. It's completely the players' choice as far as who they want in their party, just remember that I'm looking for a more well-rounded party that's balanced in its skills.
