  1. And even the ripper can be easily fixed, as per Sariel's video.
  2. To test your controller's modes, you should use BC2's "Controller" screen, not "Device".
  3. Actually there is some interesting and solid geometry used, for example on the blade and the ripper.
  4. Which other big set from this year did he work on?
  5. OK, let's discuss stickers vs. prints instead. After that, B-models. And then direct-drive functions vs. single-motor gearboxes. Finally, for dessert, hiding mechanisms vs. skeletal structures. All while accusing LEGO designers of laziness. I'm really setting myself up for a ban, I guess.
  6. If it doesn't have a hardware selector to switch between iOS and Android, I don't know what button combinations to use. Its product page has a downloadable manual, maybe it shows there how to switch?
  7. I just had that very same question yesterday while building a set... Turns out they were intentionally left over.
  8. Usable? For the Raptor it's required.
  9. I have an iPega 9055, which works well with BC2 and all the Android devices I tested it with. It has an "iOS/Android" switch, which I keep set to "Android"; does yours have something like that, or a button combination to switch modes?
  10. Besides those two, and since I see sets more as "technique tutorials" and "raw material for MOCs", I also look forward to New Elementary's reviews.
  11. Ah no, that's unacceptable! That colour scheme is totally military! Bone white and blood red? Won't somebody please think of the children?! (just kidding, the colours are very nice and I just wanted to send some barbs towards TLG)
  12. I'm still not sure if the Prime hub (used in 51515 and 45678) uses standard Bluetooth instead of BLE like the other PUp hubs.
  13. But not all sets are equally lime green.
  14. The embargo for review publishing is 10th of September, so we'll have to wait for his and everybody else's reviews at least until then.
  15. Yes, the Raptor's manual also shows a prototype model, and one without the new part colours introduced in the set.
  16. Yes, and people still complained about it. Also about how simplistic the drivetrain was, with each motor practically directly connected to its track. People nowadays see it in a more positive light (just like they do with almost all sets), and I'm sure the 42131 will be the same when the time comes for a new Technic bulldozer.
  17. I think it was a genericised trademark (is that the term?), just like jeep, xerox and kleenex, and what TLG wants to avoid by not wanting people to say "I'm playing with my legos".
  18. Since so many people are comparing the realism of the 42131 vs. the realism of the 8275, remember that the 8275 had its cylinder engine connected only to one of its tracks, which made it unable to drive straight (slightly more friction in one of the tracks than the other).
  19. More choices is always good. For small models we have the old 3-wide tracks, for medium/large models we have the 5-wide tracks, and for really large models (or snow groomers) we have the new tracks. I just hope these larger ones also become available in standard grey/black, as yellow ones will look pretty bad after playing for a while on a dirty ground.
  20. CAT, CAT, oooooohhh it's a CAT...
  21. I don't know how it's implemented, but personally I'd prefer the 2nd option: the first one adds too much latency to the controls, even for a slow-moving machine like a bulldozer.
  22. I'm divided on whether I prefer one motor per function, or one motor multiplexed for several functions: in the former case it's simpler and has less points of failure (anyone remembers the outriggers on 42009?), while in the latter case the gearing is more interesting to build and see work.
  23. A Chinook? Oh no, definitely no. I'd never want a LEGO model of a military aircraft.
  24. Assuming M_longer does have the set, it's an early sample sent by LEGO. If they showed the parts page, they'd be breaching embargo, which means at the least no more early sets.
