  1. I think the added complexity and friction of a fake engine would reduce performance, which is already weak for LEGO vehicles when compared to dedicated RC cars.
  2. I agree with Technic GWPs, but perhaps a Bolide-sized set is a bit too expensive. I'm thinking about something more in the lines of the polybags or the $10 sets.
  3. I'd guess there's not enough overlap between building skills and programming skills (ignoring MINDSTORMS for a moment here) for them to do that.
  4. I dislike how "mushy" Gen3 friction pins are and much prefer the clickier Gen2, but otherwise didn't notice any decrease in part quality. What parts have become worse in your opinion?
  5. Well, it doesn't have a gearbox, which takes a lot in size and complexity.
  6. Larger tyres that can cope with the increased weight of a proportionally large vehicle would have to be built quite differently from those LEGO currently makes, and therefore perhaps they'd be a lot more expensive. For example, I remember seeing some years ago that people had to build structures to put between tyre and rim in large, Power Puller-equipped trial trucks.
  7. I don't know about detailed internal functions or flagship status, but at least your wish for a combine harvester will allegedly be fulfilled with 42168.
  8. TLG's consistency on what is considered "acceptable" or "unacceptable" in terms of violence/warfare/killing is a whole can of worms. Examples: Indiana Jones, Overwatch, 10226, 10024.
  9. Given all the controversy surrounding the Osprey, moral groups would rip LEGO limb from limb if they launched a battleship or an aircraft carrier.
  10. His and RacingBrick's are by far my favourite LEGO-related YouTube channels.
  11. For that I used https://www.webrick.com/, to buy trans-clear parts for my Cybertruck and trans-neon-green parts for my Mini Core Magnetizer. So far I only bought System parts from there, so I don't know what's the quality of their Technic parts.
  12. Could the red flash indicate a runtime error in the program, instead of port overload?
  13. The white and orange parts are clearly meant to go together to form differentials, but I'm not seeing what's the function of the gear with grey interior and white exterior. Is it a torque-limiting gear like the 76244?
  14. A version of the current Fiat 500 is exactly like that, but in that case it's intentional.
  15. Whoa, that'll be easily mixed up with the "regular" type by consumers, unless (and probably even though) clear callouts bring attention to choosing the correct type for that specific step. If this were done by LEGO, I'm certain that the two orientations would be colour-coded to reduce mistakes, but from what I've read here that's uncommon with CaDa.
  16. Or maybe it would take twice as much force to able to pop out twice as many teeth. I'm not sure either.
  17. Not always. The first counterexample that pops in my mind is the Mack Anthem, whose tractor was designed by Milan Reindl and the trailer by Markus Kossmann.
  18. I would also like to know about ease of build and final model stability compared to LEGO sets, please.
  19. I prefer Maaboo35's definition, and anyone who says it's not the best is a big silly doodoohead.
  20. What about a combination of the methods discussed here: making the silicone mould from the existing part, filling it with thin cement, putting nuts and bolts inside it while it's liquid, then let it dry? I don't know if it's possible to keep the nuts/bolts hidden inside the cement without sinking or floating while it's liquid, though.
  21. Hmm, good idea. I recently formatted my LG V20 (Android 8) and lost access to MyBricks. I'll try going there to find an older, still compatible version.
  22. This has been proven time and again for MINDSTORMS: thanks to the fan community, I can still program my RCXs in a current computer. What worries me regarding future-proofing isn't the software, but the hardware, namely proprietary rechargeable batteries such as the 8878.
  23. I don't know if there are others, but at least CaDa is one of them. Many EB members have designed sets for them.
  24. PU's big advantage is inputs: the encoders in the motors and gyros/accelerometers in the hubs let you do additional stuff, like using a motor either as regular motor or as servo, or automatically reversing controls when the 42140 flips upside down.
