MINI-FIGURE REVIEW: Pirate Wench
Pretty sure Pirate was the first theme to abandon the smiley. Female fig's have appeared in lego sets since the advent of the mini fig, but the Wench is the first one to have an obvious female face and bodice. CM

Nice Galaxy commander with classic space color variation
Excellent, I'm actually working on the same project. Nice to see I'm not alone. Have you considered converting some of the other blue/white space sets? Cheers, CM

Your chance to own a 6250 Cross Bones Clipper
To be honest, I use Bricklink mostly to pick up individual parts. Probably the easiest and cheapest way to use it. CM

Your chance to own a 6250 Cross Bones Clipper
I have with good results. I check out ebay & Bricklink and use that as a rough guide of what the sets worth. Always make sure that the store ship to you and check out the shipping price before buying. Feel free to ask the store owner about the condition of the set if your worried. Cross Bone Clipper There's 4 for sale at around the $US65 mark. If you've bene watching ebay for this you can work out if thats a reasonable price. Cheers, CM

PICTORIAL REVIEW: 260 Idea Book 42-43
No probs people. The idea book scans can be found here Peeron Idea Books Only 260 & 697 have pirate designs. 697 designs being much weaker. Kudos to the Classic-Castle.com who gave me the idea. They also do pictorial reviews of the alternate models from the back of the boxes. Hope you enjoyed it. CM

PICTORIAL REVIEW: 260 Idea Book 42-43
A little treat for those hankering for a new pirate set to whet their appetite. The design for the set comes from idea book 260 Page 42 & Page 43. The fort itself is for the Soldier a nice little mid range design somewhere between the smaller Bastion and larger Fort Eldorado. The pieces used can all be found in those two sets by the way and are pretty common parts for a pirate fan anyway. The fort is designed to be held by four mini figures, Admiral Broadside, a commodore and two troopers, a nice staff all in all and if available for purchase most people would be happy with the minifig count. Also it is very easy to swap torsos and flags to turn this into an Imperial Guards outpost. The build was very satisfying the instructions being easy to follow. I was surprised at how good the final design came out, the palm accents the design quite well. A few nice touchs are included, a cannon ball shelf to aid in quick loading of the cannon, a soldier gunner with rammer and a small dock to tie up the boat at. I would recommend anyone looking for a nostalgic walk down memory lane build this fort. Final rating 5/5 Brickshelf Gallery CM THIS IS NOT A MOC This is a set designed by The LEGO Group whose instructions can only be found in Ideas Book 260

Sets containing piratical and/or complimentary elements!
This is probably old news, but was looking over the Adventures stuff and thought the islander fans might like the Amazon sets. Another torse for the Islanders. CM

Fake LEGO pirates : general discussion
The brightness of the colour is always weird with these things. Like looking at lego under halogen lights with a hangover. CM

Fake LEGO pirates : general discussion
Didn't want to go near the thing. (BRICKOS make Baby Jesus cry!) Since they used the same box art, it was hard to tell. Would have to open it to find out I'll guess. If it's still there next Trusday I'll do a recon for you. CM

Pirate Movies and Books
The novels their based on are classics as well. Hornblower is a much more morally ambigious character in them. Also there's the 1983 movie Yellowbeard. I hesitate to mention this, but one of my sisters favourite movies is the musical Pirates, starring Olivia New Town John. Basically an updated version of Pirates of Penzance. And for the children in everyone Muppets Treasure Island (with Tim Curry) is one I always enjoy watching with my Niece and Nephew. CM
