Not a bad deal. I checked again this evening and could not find this set. Must have sold out?!

I spoke to a TRU store manager today who confirmed most stores have not been restocking much of anything so far this year. All stores have to complete stocktake by end of February. This explains why most stores have only received only a select range of the 2011 LEGO sets, and also the lack of sales (except from this week). Expect a lot more to come through once March rolls by.

Definitely try and do your research before you get to HK for Lego Shopping. I can confirm TRU is always a good stop for current sets and pricing is a little lower as per previous post. When I was there in August 2010, I found In's Point really good. You'll need to Google the location. Basically, it's a small floor filled with little vendors (guys/gals with with day jobs) that open up around 9pm for a few hours to sell collectible stuff. There is practically a whole floor - albeit quite a small floor, dedicated to mostly Lego stuff. I also travelled to AA Place, which was well off the beaten track but the couple who own and manage the store were super friendly. It's on HK Island, and you will need to catch a cab there or try figuring out how to catch a bus. Prices are not cheap, but there's heaps of accessories and old sets from yesteryear sitting on the shelves. Again, not a massive store by any stretch.

Definitely visit Myer in the CBD, corner of Market and Pitt St (or George St). They have a great Lego display with Harbour bridge, a monkey and a few other bits and bobs. Some of the new 2011 sets are for sale there. Also worth visiting the Sydney Aquarium and/or Wildlife Park for the Lego Exhibition on. There is a Lego gift shop with plenty of sets at RRP including some of the Ninjago sets and Series 3 Collectible Minifigures (at $4.99). It's expensive for entry, and it will be busy because it is school holidays so expect to spend a couple of hours there. Note there is also a massive Lego mural that is free to participate in until the 19 January. Starts at 10am and finishes at 4pm. They even imported a bunch of pro Lego builders from the US to help out with this. You get given a 6x6 white plate and there are buckets of 1x1 coloured blocks you connect to the plate. After you finish, you receive a pamphlet with the unique serial number for your contribution, which you can then look up on their website once the mural is complete. Lego mural is is located on Cocklebay Wharf between Sydney Aquarium and Sydney Wildlife Park. No charge for this, it's FREE!

Cannot deny the low prices at Big W. Confirmed the following prices for sets cheaper (by a fraction) compared to all other retailers: * 7286 Police Transport $27.64 * 7288 Mobile Police Unit $68.72 * 7498 Police Station $124 * 7287 Police Boat $47.66 Kmart are doing well with their pricing on a few sets as well. A few introductory sale prices to coincide with Back To School sales. * 7741 Police Minifigure Collection $12.00 (Bondi Junction had this at $12.50 on Monday morning) * 7285 Police Dog Unit $ 18.50 (BIG W for $18.66 - everyday prices!) * 7194 Mandalorian Battle Pack $19 * 7913 Clone Trooper Battle Pack $19 * 7498 Police Station $124 * All basic Ninjago sets $12 * 2257 Spinjitzu Starter Set $25 Not all Kmarts/Big Ws have started stocking the new sets. Of all the stores I visited today, none have set up pegs for the basic sets yet.

Western Sydney reporting in. Kmart: Visited several Kmarts this evening in South West Sydney and found most stores devoid of any HP sets. Most major retailers (not just Kmart) in metro Sydney have either sold out of HP sets or sitting on just a handful of Freeing Dobby and Quidditch sets. Would appear HP proved popular during Christmas and shelves are being cleared for the new 2011 stock. Also on clearance in Kmart, noted Space Police Central for $90, and Undercover Cruiser for $40. Found and purchased a City Corner (7641) for $55! Ninjago basic sets scanning for $15. Found a full box sitting on the toy shelf, would appear the employee brought out but forgot to unpack. BIG W: Found a single Sort & Store storage unit tonight. Must have been returned stock or an unwanted layby item. Called BIG W customer service during the day looking for more of these and confirmed the distributer for this item was liquidated prior to Christmas and this product would not be restocked.

How about the exclusive minifigure? Did you manage to acquire one as an adult or were they strict about handing them out to kids only? I heard there were 3 figures to choose from, but no confirmation as of yet. I visited the gift shop, and can concur it's not worth your time or money. Plenty of books including sticker collections, 2011 Annual and Brickmaster books. I didn't take note of prices unfortunately, buy safe to say everything in store is RRP or higher than. It's strictly a tourist shop or for rich parents who are there to keep the kids quiet and happy.

In relation to the current TRU catalogue sale, can anyone shed light on how I claim this free Lego Club Membership offer? The deal in the current catalogue states: spend $40 or more on Lego in a single transaction, and you receive the Toy Story 3 Army Jeep polybag and free membership to the Lego Club. How's this? Staff at my local TRU informed me in order to claim the free membership, the receipt of the purchase needed to be scanned and emailed to Lego Club website. Sounds like nonsense to me! I've checked the website and no such information on claiming any TRU deal. Anyone know what the go is with this? What I purchased today: Star Wars General Grievous' Starfighter (8095) = $69.99 Space Police Lunar Limo (5984) = $49.98 $10 TRU gift voucher 2 x TS3 Army Jeep (asked for an extra set, and they were more than happy to oblige) TOTAL = $119.97
