  1. Sorry no LDD and I am afraid I don't have time for this. PM me your email address and I will send you few pics.
  2. I did this last year. I posted few pics on Eurobricks: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=105781. Since then I updated the wings to make them similar to the official new Vader's TIE. I don't have a part list but I can share more detailed pics that may help you. PM me if you are interested.
  3. 9495 Gold leader Y-wing, 75094 Imperial Shuttle Tydirium. Both are really well built and as much accurate as possible giving the minifig scale. I modded Y-wing to make it evenmore accurate (canopy) and I really love it.
  4. I made some mods recently on my 'old' 9493 and 9495 X-wing and Y-wing. I just love these two fighters. I was 6 when I watched ANH for the first time back in 1977. The Yavin battle is my favorite part of the movie and it impressed me quite a lot. I mainly collectsets from ep iv and love to modify them to make them. Some pics below. Thanks to All in the Reflexes for the X-wing canopy and other sources that I can't name because there are so many :-) that i copied. X-wing first: Y-wing: i posted some of these mods sometime ago but the p8cs are no more available on the servers i used. Since the, I modified the canopy. Some pics includes my TIE X1 Advanced for which I created a topic on Eurobricks :-).
  5. Geebee replied to Schneeds's post in a topic in LEGO Star Wars
I tried to mix the TIE Advanced Prototype and the older Vader's TIE 8017 sometime ago. Certainly not the best design compared to the above MOCs but this can give you few ideas. http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=105781
  6. Very nice TIE MikeMo! Better than mine I think :-). I had exactly the same stability issue with 9492 tile wrapping stylean finally chosen the UCS style...
  7. Pretty funny indeed! Thanks for posting. Your TIE looks very good. It looks overall bigger. Looking at the other pictures in your post I see that it is definitely bigger than the original lego version. My TIE is similar in size to the original Vader's TIE. The scale you chosen is probably more accurate and makes we want to update mine. This and the cockpit which looks very good in your version :-).
  8. I called the Lego customer service yesterday. Eventhough the guy was not aware of a replacement sticker sheet available for the Slave 1, he checked and finally confirmed they had it. I should get it sometime next week!
  9. Salve 1. Shipment will arrive today. Can't wait!
  10. Thanks for the inputs GuydudeMan27 and Raskolnikov. I will look at this and see if I can improve the wings :-).
  11. Thanks. Great collection of TIEs! Doing the side panels the same way they are on the 9492 AND solid enough is a challenge. This why i finally kept the one i used on this mod/moc. Plesase share your solution when you have one, I will be really interested .
  12. Thanks Nom Carver, these friction bricks are actually what I used. I made a mix between words "clip hinges" and "friction bricks" (my poor english!). With clip hinges, the small side panes would move a lot. I used 4 friction bricks for each small panel to make the wings sturdy enough. Your TIE Interceptor looks really good, thanks for the tip. I will check if I can use this technic.
  13. Thanks a lot guys ! This is my first MOD/MOC since I came out of my dark age, so I happy that you find it not too bad! And thanks for the suggestions. Regarding the DBG bricks, I agree that there are too much of them. Looks like I will soon bricklink some LBG bricks! It’s true that the wings are not thin enough, I will have to change this too. Nom Carver, not sure I understand what you mean when you suggest to use “friction bricks instead of those clip hinges”. They look very similar I think, plus the clip hinge help to make the wings sturdy and not moving .
  14. I recently purchased the new X1 Prototype 75082 set. As I am before anything else an OT fan, I actually purchased this set to modify it into a TIE X1 Advanced. I have always been a big fan of this fighter and was not satisfied with the Lego version. The X1 Prototype central part is I think much closer to how the X1 Advanced central part should look like. I then used this part, added the rear central part mainly inspired by the 8017 set and then worked on the side panels. I especially worked on the connection between the central part and the side panels. I am not yet hundred percent satisfied and still need to improve: The side panels (should II call them Wings?) texture Side panels grey tube to be replaced in order to be more accurate The cockpit. I plan to rework the seat and the computer panels Improve the greeb on the inside of the wings Few pics!
  15. Just received the ISD, the TIE Advanced Prototype anf the AT-AT microfighter. I can't wait to build them this weekend. I plan to modify the TIE Advanced Prototype into a TIE X1. Gilles
