  1. I like it. The modulars have always fallen between American or European appearance anyway, in my opinion, with Fire Brigade, Town Hall, Palace cinema and Detectives Office among the American looking ones, and most of the rest being European.
  2. Bought infearno interception today, amazing! Like a Blade Runner spinner crossed with Tron.
  3. Got back into Lego in 2010, spent loads that year, possibly £2,000. Was doing ok this year, resisting some urges, till I got to about August and went mad on Atlantis, some older city sets, Kings Castle and Medieval Market Village. I do track my spending, buy my computer died a few months ago and I lost the exact figures. Trying to cut back a bit, and am selling some sets now, need to be more focused and less scattershot in the purchases. I've always wanted to build a lego city, but realistically I will never have the room, so a modular street scene would be more realistic, and therefore I dont need so many vehicles or coastguard sets and boats!
  4. I was in my local lego shop today, and they had the mini modulars set. It was in quite a small (but deeper than usual) box, which seems a more sensible option. With regard to keeping boxes, I suppose in the back of my mind if I do decide to let some go in the future, I know it would help the sale to have the box.
  5. Interesting. Was that just a tester though, it doesnt seem like they have shrunk across the board.
  6. Well, thats good then! I bought the power boat transporter set earlier today and the box is rather large, it could fit into something half that size. It seems a bit wasteful.
  7. I know the big boxes are part of the marketing to make them appealing, with nice big artwork on them, but the boxes are too big! They could easily fit the bigger sets into smaller boxes, and thus, I could fit more boxes into my storage area. As it is, I've virtually run out of room, and may even need to (gulp) get rid of some sets. Anyone agree?
  8. Just get them replaced. The only time I've had problems with Amazomn UK is when they use Hermes for the delivery.
  9. So will this join on to the existing castle set?

Do you think a Lego Sim City would be a good idea? All the features of sim city, but with Lego Buildings, and an editor to design and build your own buildings too?

I would have liked to see Fisher Price Adventure People make the list, they were truly my favourite as a kid. Then again, I didnt know a single other person who had any.
  12. Next to the Lego Shop in Cardiff is a shop called "Clas Ohlson", they had some plastic drawer units that would be perfect for storing some Lego in.
  13. The Lego store in cardiff will apparently open 8th December, its in St Davids 2 opposite the Disney Store (the hoardings are up so its being fitted out), opening hours 9.30-8pm on most days. Cant wait!
  14. There was an ad on Ebay UK recently, someone wanted 50k for "the largest lego collection in the world", claimed to have "millions" of pieces, yet the photos showed an ordinary looking collection in a normal house!
  15. I work in Cardiff so walk through the arcade every week, theres plenty of empty units, but I've not seen any hoardings up yet that would say which one the Lego Store would be. The job ads said mid-October start date for the manager and assistant manager. I guess once they are appointed, they would have a hand in recruiting the store staff? It would make sense to open before Xmas at least though.
