  1. Nice job, you hid the PF well, is this generally 6 wide on the chassis?

I am considering contracting a sign writing company to cut high quality vinyl decals, for example the British rail logo. This is mainly for my personal rolling stock but if you (the community) needs some others let me know what size, colours and types. I can add them to the job. Or, do you folks already have a great source for these?

I cant use the traditional magnet coupling for my model as to keep it scale the bogies are fairly far back from the front of back of the train. What would be great to see is you ideas, solutions to other couplings that the magnets.
  5. I would be interested to see how that turns out, it looks like they are selling Lego's end of line products making way for the new 2014 stock. there is a store near here that does the same thing. I would use a protected pay source if you can, like paypal or something. Keep us posted as to how it turns out.
  6. I have seen the function to decorate a specific brick or tile in LDD, and even replace them in LDDtoPOV but what about a sticker type decal that covers many bricks......
  7. WOW, you have done some incredible work! I really like the magnet disconnect on your shunter.
  8. I have seen some excellent MOC work by others using LDD to create and POV ray to render. My questions is how are the talented people applying stickers or decals after the render?

I wonder what electronics they are using!
  10. these are great, how did you do the rotating beacon?

Thank you Heppeng, That is great information that I obviously missed. I have now rectified the door situation and added two drives desks and controls.

Hi Man with hat and Hrw, thanks fo rthe compliments It was and interesting project as there are many reference pictures available with many variations. I posted a second reference picture with the same colour scheme that I used and the door set ups are different. I am guessing they were different versions. http://www.flickr.com/photos/118397526@N08/13032580293/in/photostream/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/118397526@N08/13023593733/in/photostream/

I have spent probably the best part of 150 hours on this MOC, it was very very challenging, especially when it came to concealing the PF. https://www.flickr.com/photos/118397526@N08/13023744304/
  17. Thats a great solution with the clear tiles! I had never thought of that. Also I think your de coupler is ingenious.! Thank you for sharing!
  18. Thank you for all your GREAT advice, this has been the trickiest model I have attempted. I would love to see your class 8's see how you overcame some of the challenges.
  19. It is about 1 over size to keep it in scale, I had a really hard time deciding on less detail or slight non proportion. I decided to go for non proportion for now, maybe the MK2 will be 1 shorter. http://www.flickr.com/photos/118397526@N08/12686202133/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/118397526@N08/12686539274/
  20. I have a good amount of designs that work very well with 9v, and still keep a really nice style and feel of what the model is based off, however when I try and convert to PF i feel that some of the clean lines ETC are lost. Does any one have any clever solutions for adding the IR receivers to 7W models, also does any one know of PF IR receiver alternatives, 3rd party produced receivers that are smaller? Also I think (because of space issues with PF battery box) I am going to resort to a pair of AA Li-Ion 3.7v batteries wired to a PF plug with a battery / circuit protection circuit board in line.. see the photo examples for my personal PF challenges, 7W model. The first is with out and has nice roof lines http://www.flickr.co...08/12681497534/ The second is with PF and this is the widest part of the train so is the only location. makes the roof look ugly. http://www.flickr.co...08/12681026535/
