7066 Viper Canopy issues
I have seen that before on a French forum (SeTechnic) with the Star Wars Imperial V-wing 7915 using the same canopy. http://www.setechnic.com/Forum/topic5482-15.html On this pic you can clearly the default of the piece: Ask LEGO to replace it.

Sharing your LEGO with your kids
My son is still young, nearly 2, and even if I see the envy in his eyes when he look at my collection, that stay off limit for him. However he has a big growing collection of Duplo that we play together. When he will be old enough to play with Lego System he will have access to my pieces under supervision until I decide it's safe enough to leave him alone when I don't have time to play with him. Lego are there for playing and if I can share this with my son it's even better. That being said my displayed sets will stay off limits. "You can see but never touch daddy's Star Wars."

[MOC] Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome
Being a big fan of BSG, I'm always eager to see MOC on that theme. And I like yours, the shape of the Viper's nose is an interesting build. But the viper should have 3 engines and if you want to make your MOCs look like they could be real Lego sets you shouldn't mix new parts like the landing gear with out of production parts like old hinges and the canopy. But again nice work.

SW Lego set and minifig price guide
I think you can do that with BrickStore. Brickstore download a price guid from Bricklink, and for each part, minifig, or set you add in your list you will have infos about All time sales, Last 6 months sales and Current inventories in Bricklink stores. So it's not a ready to use SW Lego set and minifig price guide since you will have to add items to your list but it could help.

Whats the BEST deal you ever found?
I got 6Kg of unsorted Lego pieces for 25€ shipment included. among Jack Stone's set and a very few megablock there was also all the pieces to build this: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=10019-1 Considering the price of it even without instructions and box, I think I made by best deal ever this day. Unless you count freebies as a deal, because so far I got: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=4479-1 http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=6212-1 http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=7106-1 http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=7139-1 http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=7146-1 http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=7150-1 http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=7190-1 http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=7115-1 http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=7141-1 http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=7151-1 http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=7171-1 http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=4478-1 http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=7143-1 http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=7153-1 http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=7674-1 http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=7675-1 http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=7676-1 Yes all of them for free given by peoples who didn't care about Lego anymore! I calculated the value of it is at least 450€. Some times the dark age is a good thing, and I don't regret to let everyone know that I'm an AFOL.

Review: 7879 Hoth Echo Base
The Home One set provide a crane and a refueling station too. But in this set a T-47 will not be able to pass that door and the crane is too short to bring a droid in the X-wing socket and anyway the cargo compartment is actually under the belly of the X-wing which is actually too small to carry the containers provided. On the other hand the crane in the Home One is hight enough to take the A-wing motor provided with it and the A-wing (should I add provided in the set again?) does fit in the hangar bay to refuel.

Review: 7879 Hoth Echo Base
Being not into minifig, I don't get what is appealing in this set. Granted AFOL is not the main market but who is supposed to remember scenes from a 1980 movie? Even the special edition in theaters in 1997 was 14 years ago now and for any kids standard it's old, very old. Given the extra cost of a licensed product it's not acceptable and I think even TLC knows that to reduce an OT set to the Kids market only. So what do I remember of the Hoth base? The Med bay? OK the Bacta tank and 2-1b are here but where is the second droid? what is left of the room beside the bed? The hangar? not there, OK we had enough snowspeeder already but as a stand alone set, one would not have been out of place in this set. The Ion canon? not there. The command room? I recall there was more than one guy in it. The massive door? not there. Instead we get: A stable. Please leave that where we expect it. In a castle set! "Corridors" with icicles falling from the roof? It would be nice if there was a corridor left to use once the icicles are in place. A crane. For what purpose? I don't even get what a kid could do with that beside breaking it given how it look flimsy. I mean even on the High-res official picture that Grogall posted, it's starting to break apart. A refuel station. Again to refuel what? How wait I get it, the rebels are so nice that they keep it ready for the Imperial speeder bike. I admit I had too much expectations for this set, especially after the Home One and the Battle of Endor. My opinion is that the designer put too much things into it that doesn't fit together. At the end I don't feel the Hoth in it, I don't get what a kid could do with half of it and I will not buy it. One question. I recently seen that designing a set was more about the final weight than parts count. And I would like to know the weight of the set please? See if I can do better for about the same weight or if I should shut my mouth.

10179 UCS Falcon Pricing
I got mine as soon as rumors started that it will be discontinued soon. Building it or not wasn't an option and I had no need of a big box lying somewhere in my house. Who I am kidding? I just couldn't resist to the siren song, finding where to display it came after and it got an premium place right in the middle of my living room No way I'm selling it! About building it piece by piece, a lot of them are very common and some hidden pieces can be replaced by other colors without damaging the look like the 1x16 Technic bricks with holes. Only the sticker sheet and the boat mast rigging can be a problem to limit the price but I think the latest can be obtained with the customer service at low price if not free (yes they do that sometimes).

LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors
The TIE show some great improvements. But I would have liked to see them drop the oversized 6x6 inverted slope. The new cockpit look like a new print of the RGS canopy, it could look better if integrated 1 stud inside the cockpit. The Weapons look like the old electric, light bulb cover Does that mean they will light up? Or is this just for the prototype and it will not make it trough production? That piece was last seen in a set in 2005 so I doubt it will come back as it is. The exterior of the wings is the big plus with some greeblings and the Pylons show some roundness that was missing in the old renditions. The gray instead of blue is the last improvement I see, But all my TIE were already converted to it. The increased size, I don't mind it... If they redo the Tie Interceptor, the Tie bomber, the Tie advanced, the Tie Crawler, the Tie Defender and add a scimitar assault bomber for good measure with the same scale and wings design. Last point, the last rendition was a $20 set, this one I fear it will be more than $50, I mean OK it's bigger and raw material price is not the same as in 2005 but for more than $50 I will not replace my already Black/gray Tie collection.

Cataloguing your collection
But unless you have the perfect sorting system, I think a good amount of your very large collection may be kind of out reach. Granted it would be a living nightmare to catalog this for months but ultimately you could discover some hidden treasures and for sure gain great benefits on the long term. Imagine being able to find if you have one particular piece and where in a few seconds. So IMHO complete catalog is more important for large collections than small and easy "catalogable" (is that a word?) collection.
