  1. Atmospheric. Check. Mystical. Check 70's. Check. Subtle details for enhanced realism. Bonus Check. Amazing and original MOC: Mission accomplished.
  2. Thank you so much for the in-depth response. You have greatly helped me solidify my decision to buy a good deal of this product line. From your pictures I agree they seem to scale well with the rest of City/Modulars. Rather lengthy vehicles but that does not bother me at all.
  3. Is it possible to get a picture of the car next to a ordinary city vehicle? I would like to see how well it might integrate with the rest of Lego city. The rear of the vehicle is exceptionally composed. I like it a lot.
  4. Horrible stereotype. But I think LEGO believes it as I agree Friends is getting a far more diverse array of structures than I am getting with City.
  5. The LEGO Doc always ripping my exact sentiments out of my head. That grey boat hull also caught my eye for some possible modern ship construction. See to me these comparisons make perfect sense. That "wow" factor I also agree is an important element for gauging the higher ticketed items. Especially when your purpose for these sets are for display only. Although my initial response is negative I too have reversed my opinion in the past upon seeing the set on display in store, in person. I will not deny there is a chance the Helicarrier may sell me yet in that fashion.
  6. No one forgot anything. Although I will not deny those UCS sets did incorporate certain play features that I thought unnecessary they did not sacrifice exterior aesthetics to implement them. I cannot say the same for this set as they even appear to have sacrificed much for even the possibility of making it swooshable. The undercarriage looks like engineering for weight reduction. Final point being displayed next to a UCS Slave 1 or Executor this set would best be described as awkward.
  7. As much as I wanted the LEGO Helicarrier, this is not even remotely what I was hoping for. Seems like another case of where LEGO design has difficultly determining whether to launch a kid set or an adult one. Trying to do both continually makes these awkward sets with a high price but low adult model display value. Something with the philosophy behind the UCS Slave 1 or Executor would have done well here.
  8. Metallic gold tiles, yes. I wouldn't worry much about this thread, I am sure it will be flooded with posts when the sets start appearing in stores or more cars are announced. I'm personally more of a fan of BMW GT cars and the Lamborghini Aventador/Reventón. As far as Mclaren is concerned I would take the F1 GTR or even the MP4-12C over the P1 anyday.
  9. Me. Also a minifig scaled one.
  10. Hahaha. The sarcasm is very effective.
  11. I am looking forward to seeing how people modify these sets to have them integrate seamlessly into a City layout.
  12. Is that one of the Friends there to bail out another Friend? That's what friends are for right? Hahaha
  13. Those are some giant dolls. Might be quite creepy if it was a real life concept. Excellent idea and execution of a modular however..
  14. Did that cat scale a palm tree? That is epic. I also got a good laugh out of that Posh store, I actually really like that modular as a 2 story.
  15. Talos, even with that limited space you had to work with, you have captured what I feel to be the true spirit of what The Highlander and the building as a whole should have been. It really does appear as a whole and complete establishment now. Praise to your excellent presentation of a bar.
