As I was reading the announcement, I kept thinking "GALIDOR 2: Electric Boogaloo"... I have no doubt it would be more successful than Galidor, judging by how obsessed one of my 8-10 year old relatives is with it, but, eww... I think it'll just be something about the whole turning into an alien thing. Although isn't a magical/space/whatever wristwatch the main point of the series? Printed arm-bits anyone?
  2. Thanks for the news, I should probably check that out when I have time. (Exams in a few weeks, and loads of tests etc before them, not to mention I'm pretty short on cash, spent much of what I saved on an IJ set, the one with the ark, because I was dying of not having a new lego set, and they were there, and castle wasn't. Good set though.) Also, on getting the calendar in Australia: well, I think we will get it, like we had the ability to get last year's calendars. It will likely be an S@H exclusive, like they were. And yeah, there is some building involved, normally, but tiny things, nothing large, at largest, the size of the impulse sets. (Think the size of the equipment in the soldier impulse, but maybe with less equipment). Have a look on bricklink if you want to get an idea.
  3. September?!? AGAIN?!? That makes it, what, 3 or 4 years in a row now, that sets I want, and could only get through my birthday, are being released in september. My birthday is August 29 Gaah! Of course, I could go through shop at home, but I could get something else, or even two other things, for the price of shipping. Gah!
  4. Oh, yeah, I got that one (from myer a day or so after it came out here, and with something like 20% off, so I payed about $70), forgot to add that to my list of not to mention. But, yeah, Thanks for answering the question. Shame that they don't have them, Kmart just had 15% off lego, but that is over now. Hope they get here before the end of August (So I can get them for my birthday) Wasn't the Wheely thing supposed to be out in Feb or something, maybe it was exclusive to a store I haven't been to lately (TRU, Target or Myer?) Anyway, on the Wheeled towers- Still not enough for me to pay that sort of price. And anyway, I still wouldn't be able to use it for parts etc without feeling guilty. Shame.
  5. I just saw that price for Australia on the lego s@h. I think everyone in the house knows I am annoyed. I wasn't expecting it to be cheap, but when I first saw it I jokingly said somewhere something about it probably being around $250 AU More.. than.. joking.. level... nooo... bad... bad things... away... to.. dark.. place.. no.. light... it all burns... I may be being a little over dramatic, and I suppose it is 2k of pieces, but loads of that is 2x2 tiles!!!! And If I did buy it, I wouldn't be able to use the parts without feeling guilty about the price tag, other than to play chess (which I used to do a bit, but now I find a bit... boring.) :'-( :'-( By the way, has anyone in australia seen anything from the 2008 castle line, other than impulse sets, in stores?

Thanks, that helps a lot! Yeah, I prefer the new ones, even if they do look a little un-lego ish, they look a fair bit more like magnaguards than the LSW ones. I must say, though, Kaminoan did a good job with his recreation there. I don't really like the cartoonishness, but seeing as that is what they are based on, it is understandable (shame they won't fit in with everything else, but, eh, peachies anyone?). Though obi-wan looks stupid. I like plo koon, and ahsoka is ok as well.the new clones are nice, too, although (and I am ashamed to say this) I don't know much about Commander Cody. Off to wookieepedia for me,

Piranha, if it doesn't inconvenience you or anything, can you get a picture of the LSW magnaguard, just out of curiosity. If it is too much hassle or anything, don;t worry, I'm just curious as to what they look like in the game. Anyway, on to the sets. I don't mind the new minifigs, I love Plo koon. I like a lot of the stuff in the RGS, I hate how it would probably cost 180AUD but, eh, I'll probably get it as a late birthday pressie. Like the new guns, don't really like asajj ventress, but the lightsabers are well done.
  8. Thanks for the advice, svelte corps, there is only one problem. The K-mart near me is terrible with lego, they have half of a small aisle for it, on one side, the other half is megabloks and magnetix. And they get lego stock really slowly, they got the first line of the new castle sets (humans vs skellies) only a couple of months back, at most. But eh, I'll have a look, next time sales come around, and thanks for the advice.
  9. Later on yesterday, I was at MYER, so I checked out the lego. I bought the rebel troops army builder thingy for the $20. It was a nice little set, but no way was it worth $20, but I needed some more figs, even if they are peach. Oh, and rogue shadow was there :'-( . It isn't a big set, from the box size, at most it would be the size of a $50 set. There is no way, actually looking at the box, that I would pay $100 for that. It is a very nice set, and I really, really want it, but it is just not worth that much money. :'-( I just hope that there will be some left when it comes time to clear them at 60% off or something (I've seen TRU do stuff like that) and even then, it would be only worth that massively discounted price. How much could the licensing really be? Ugh.
  10. Yeah, I was just looking through the Lego star wars products on TLC's website, because I finally got my Slave 1 set, after finally tidying my room (yeah, pretty sad, I know) and I am playing with SW Lego again, sadly, there aren't any good sets below 40 AUD, and even then, they aren't really impressive. And they are all peachies now, (ugh). And off to ebay I went. Sadly, all sets were overpriced, or had $120 US for shipping a $15 US set ($15 US was cheap, but the shipping international finally showed me why there were so few bids, even to US it was exorbitant, as I remember). Come on Lego, give us some decent sets for a decent price, I know I can't afford the stuff that is out now. (I love the rogue shadow, and it probably deserves the $100 AUD price tag *No, wait, I didn't see the piece count, as mentioned before, this is an utter rip-off*, which I cannot afford, but why can't you put out some $15-$30 sets other than battle packs? And even they are overpriced at $20 AUD each, and, yeah, drop the prices, come on!). Are the expenses of Lucasfilm's licensing that big? Oh, and I think it may be possible to get rogue shadow for less than 100 AUD over bricklink, If you didn't want the box. I think it would still be around $80 AU though. Still too much for me. I am glad to know that I am not alone with these price issues though. (not in a sadistic, "haha you are suffering too" way, maybe in more of a "I'm not going mad, I'm not alone" way.)
  11. Here's hoping it is not a major internal structure, then! :-| Though, even in that case, I am sure I can improvise a filler, If I can be bothered. (And I probably will)

Wow, thats... Amazing! I love how you show the ingredients and stuff being poured, and I lol'ed at the guy chasing the rat. The detail is amazing. Absolutely Brilliant! *wub*
  13. I have the dwarves mine (from myer), and I am keeping an eye out for anything new.
  14. I want that calendar. Shame I have never seen any lego advent calendars for sale in Australia. Maybe I'll have to get my s@h christmas stuff early. I have been trying to get a few peasants, so to see a farmer girl is very pleasing. Hopefully there will be some peasant buildings or stuff in it too. The jester is nice, and I like the suggestion of a guitar by Klaus-Dieter although a lute would be really useful, for bards and stuff. Nice to see another dwarf, and yeah, those legs look printed. Dunno about the witch, but it is an ok addition. I don't think we need the black skeleton, though, I know I don't, after getting the castle chess set. Another dwarf, peasant, or some other villager-person would be a nice replacement. And I'm betting that this IS the special item.
  15. Downsides: Don't really like the missile, And I wish it had dwarves. Upside: Plenty of minifigs, barricade is nice, Wheel looks interesting, looks like the new torso on one or two of the knights. Of course I'll buy it, like everything else in this castle line, but I don't like that missile. It is a big rolling wheel o' death, it doesn't need a projectile, and anyway, it appears to be too high to hit anything on that barricade.
