What's your recent LEGO Star Wars Purchase?
I was watching the Clone wars Season 5 on the latter episode when Anakin was chasing Ashoka and the Police Gunship (75046) was there, unless this is not the item you bough. I am sure this is the ship they are into , otherwise the minifgures should not be there if its TOR. Thanks, will check back to see your opiniong, it was too expensive for me for just a single purchase :) I was debating about Ewok Village and Sand crawler

What's your recent LEGO Star Wars Purchase?
I bought enough just to get Darth Raven from Lego store: 75024 (10% off) -HH 87 Star Hopper for the rare Han Solo on Bounty Hunter 75045 - AV 7 Anti Vehicle. - just for the clones 75001 - Old republic and a MF microfigure From CL: I had 5 sets all for $90 bucks! 75000 - Clone vs. 75003 - A wing 9492 - TIE fighter 7961 - DM Sith Infiltrator 75005 - Rancor And from Toy R Us 75025 Defender class 30% off! So I kinda splurge a bit. Let us know how much time collectively you build it please

Our local store in Seattle only gave Darth Revan for Star wars purchases. Non of the 50% discount was available. Majority was 10% off. Sandcrawler was selling fast. :) Toys r Us sold the set 75025 for 30% off and I got that one luckily. Other set was Palpatines arrest, which was not so interesting for me.

Absolutely agree on this. I have a display cabinet and plan to put different scene/diorama in the shelf :) just dont know what/where to start :) Endor is one. Back to Original post, Tatooine is also my vote for this vs MF. I will be at the store tomorrow and will verify it, But checking on their website yesterday I also noticed that Darth Revan is only for SW lego. I will line up tomorrow and see what my $75 worth will give me as they also have lots of SW sets on sale starting tomorrow

Storage and Sorting LEGO
Thanks for the tip trippybrowneyes! I found your comment helpful and instead of disassembling my lego sets and put them in "sorted bins" I will put them in a ziplock or a storage bin. I have been thinking of what to do with my duplicate sets. And realize that its in the "building' where the fun is. Sorting is the next hobby. But by storing the set as a complete set then I can easily just rebuild them without the hassle of searching for every piece.. :)

Storage and Sorting LEGO
What I am getting here is that the sorting is dependent on the type of building you are making. I agree with your first line that finding a small piece on a sea of the same color is a lot painful. So I sort by type. I collect mostly star wars sets and when I build, I like knowing the pieces. Lastly I like your tag "Builder not a Hoarder" .. I have to keep reminding myself of that :)

Storage and Sorting LEGO
I bought the cheaper bins (Store house) from Harbor freight ($3.49), the only problem I have with them is that it IS cheaper quality and thin plastic. I returned a couple because the lock broke easily. Bins are movable plastic, however I plan to make this fixed using superglue. I do like its concave shape when pulling out tiny items, so I can slide it off easily. http://www.harborfreight.com/hand-tools/bins-containers/24-divider-storage-container-94458.html

From buckets to bins: How to sort a lot of Lego.
Tom, I found that the Brother printer I use PT-2730 is easy enough to do cut and paste :) so no worries, But yeah, if you still paste it on your blog I believe it will make life easier for most of those who wants to organize. They can even just print and then use a clear tape if they dont want to buy a printer. But I can use the printer for other things anyway and I got it on such a good bargain from B&H (for those who wanted to know).

From buckets to bins: How to sort a lot of Lego.
Hi, can you give tips on how you managed to print to lego image sample on your P-touch printer? I would like to know how to make it efficiently instead of doing a cut and paste of each image, or is it just the only way. Thanks.

Thank you Bothan Spy#5 for this suggestion. I am very new to this SW collecting stage and I do limit my purchases to used sets from CL. I am now at the stage where my display cabinet is full but I want to also limit my display to sets that has more than 500 pieces. My question is on your "Third General Rule" did you mean basically financial payoff in terms of selling it again? Thanks for clarifying. I do find some duplicate sets and sometimes when I get the older sets I tend to like them more than the new set of the same model Not much of help in my reply but I thought that would be "nice" to have as an error to TLG printing, come to think of it how many clones they have made and then u get a wrong helmet print. Seems rare enough to be collected :)

Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here
Hello All, Just recently joined EB and wanted some suggestion from members on how to make sense of the display cabinet I build for my SW legos collection. At first I only wanted sets anything from 500 pieces and above, but then local "used" deals are getting better and better so I gathered more. So here is my questions: What is a good way to organize the SW lego sets? Since I have 4 columns which has atleast 5-8 dividers. I was thinking 1 column per SW Episode but since there were 6 episodes then I lack 2 more display cabinet column. Also I notice majority of my sets aer from the Clone wars. So that poses another set of challenge. But anyway your suggestion is appreciated. Below is the display cabinet video I build. At the end of the video are the bins I use to organize, the top of that cabinet can also be used for more important or significant set, My goal is the UCS Millenium falcon build from random pieces I have collected.

Any tips for Lego newbies?
I second the suggestion of redtrooper27 above, better have a systematic way of sorting. Find good bins that suits your needs. In my case I mostly buy used legos so part of the fun is finding other treasures in the bulk set ( I hate megablocks still ;). While this is the cheaper way It does come with a lot of hard work and sorting (that is half of the hobby of lego). But maybe its just me I find peace in sorting things, Nope I don't have OCD as my friends joke about, but it does gives me peace when I sort and have music at the background. I limit my collection to star wars sets, while my younger boys are into ninjago.
