LEGO Hidden Side 2020
After a few waves of haunted buildings, while I love that aesthetic, I'd love to see the protagonists take the fight to whatever realm the ghosts are from, if only to have the chance to get some of the amazing ghosts in minifigure form, like the one made up of stacked torso extenders, the teddy bear, Bawa, etc... And the ten more sets next wave is quite a lot, even bigger than the launch wave, which is interesting.

It’s also possible that it’s based on temp info and couldn’t have anything to do with wave 2 at all - after all, there’s a lot of weird inconsistencies with the minifig scan feature, like calling Elton (El Fuego) a pianist, referring to some named characters with placeholders (“Oh no! Young kid #1 is possessed!”) and so on... That being said, if there is indeed a plane next wave, I can see it being some sort of crashed plane (like the Swamp Ghost: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swamp_Ghost) or a prop biplane — something you’d see around this sort of setting. There’s a “scan a minifig” feature that (and I say this very loosely) “tries” to recognize what figure you put in front of the camera. In actuality it only gets it right maybe less than 5-10% of the time, hence how I discovered these names I didn’t recognize, like Possessed Youtuber Parker, Pilot, Stewardess, and someone named “Armitage.”

DC Superheroes 2019 - Rumours, Speculation & Discussion
Could be a set just like the Jurassic Park T Rex Rampage - at 3K some odd parts with a central "vehicle" (in that case, dino) build and a very large backdrop behind it. Something like a Batmobile and a large Batcave entrance or Wayne Manor facade, perhaps. Hopefully it'll have a good set of exclusive figures like that one did -- and if rumors of a four set wave are true, this actually mirrors the Jurassic World wave a lot: four new sets, with one new, massive 3K part D2C.

I'm not sure that "Zebra" actually is meant to mean something: After all, what does "Banana" have to do with Hidden Side and "Jaws" have to do with Star Wars? I think it's just an arbitrary codename assigned to a particular line of sets yet to be revealed, and over-analyzing the name itself won't yield much unfortunately.

HIDDEN SIDE - 2019
Armitage is a name, but I didn't recognize it as one of the named characters in Wave 1 (correct me if I'm wrong) And yeah, Pilot and Stewardess sound like a Hidden Side Plane! Another unrelated note is that one of my favorite parts of the app is the ghost guide section - the one-sentence backstories about how they died are quite amusing, especially a certain ghost who was an escaped mental hospital patient who went mad believing the entire world was made out of plastic, including himself...

No, you scan figures and then it tells you something along the lines of “oh no, it’s the construction worker and they’re possessed” except this case it was “Youtuber Parker.” I scanned the female figure from the ghost train over 10-15 times and it got a different result each time, only one of which was actually correct. Some other interesting ones were “Armitage,” “Pilot,” and “Stewardess,” although no photos were shown as the app assumed you had the figure in front of you.

HIDDEN SIDE - 2019
Tried out the app extensively with the only set I could find (the train) and while it’s super fun, certain aspects are very mixed. The AR works great when the set is involved, which I guess is the most important feature, but other aspects aren’t as great. The “scan a minifig” feature correctly identifies the figure maybe 10% of the time, and even misidentified some figures as a possessed version of Parker, which doesn’t appear in any Wave 1 set - maybe this could be a hint to what’s coming up next? Being able to play as the ghosts you catch is an inspired idea, but the gameplay itself is really boring and repetitive, focusing on the same graveyard and no AR elements. I’d much rather have the feature to haunt the built sets with AR than what they have implemented now. The boss battle, at least for the train, also seemed restrictively hard even with dozens of effort put into grind and upgrade your phone shooter. I’m curious how many times kids will try it before giving up.

Face seems interesting; will hold out judgement until we see the most interesting parts (usually headgear/armor)

I asked to get one from the back stockroom at Target by giving the DPCI codes, an employee got it for me, but when I tried to buy it, the cash register gave a warning for do not sell until today (July 28).

HIDDEN SIDE - 2019
They’re street dated for tomorrow so you could try again then!

HIDDEN SIDE - 2019
Brickseek.com offers a Target inventory checker to see if sets are in stock, and it usually works really well 99% of the time. Oddly enough, for these DPCIs, some are not showing up in Brickseek’s system yet and others are showing up as old retired sets from as far back as 2013. In this case, you can use them to go up to employees and ask them if they have any in stock and if they can give it to you. I’ve had luck in the past with employees giving me street dated items from the back stockroom (although they seem to be cracking down a lot harder on this practice) and from what I’ve seen, these seem to be out on shelves a bit early so it’s worth a shot. Regarding the street date, it looks like these are releasing a bit early which is a nice surprise!

Marvel Superheroes 2019 - Rumours, Speculation & Discussion
I mean, minifigure scale Thanos doesn't necessarily lead to comic based sets - it's likely still an Endgame-themed set, just with a different variant of Thanos. Personally I would have loved a new Axl-style mold () or something along the lines of Mr. Incredible from the game (which never made it into a set but looks like this:) as I feel it's a good compromise to portray the scale of Thanos with a minifigure head and more articulation, but it seems that we are just getting a standard minifig for this which will feel a little out of place amongst the regular figures.

DC Superheroes 2019 - Rumours, Speculation & Discussion
Wow! This is pretty unprecedented if true. The only non-movie licensed tie in series we’ve gotten have been for Simpsons and Harry Potter, so if this is true it shows LEGO is really putting a lot more attention on DC than usual, which is great! Wonder if any Arrowverse styles figures will appear here, and of course the DC supervillains game characters.

LEGO Ninjago 2019
Technically we did in the Day of the Departed wave, minus the tail and Mohawk - but I agree this is the best chance to get it if they come up with a new snake head mold like with the Skulkin

I wish - for some reason they didn't make one for this movie.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 19 Rumors, Speculation and Discussion
Blacktron AND Johnny Thunder in one series? YES! The last time we got a Blacktron figure with the Evil Mech I grabbed 10 of the for the armor alone. Can’t wait to army build this guy too! 16-17-18 is very, very interesting. There’s no way it’s regional exclusives as LEGO made a big statement about that - there’s got to be two chase figures on the other side of the packet, yet to be revealed. Wonder what those are!

HIDDEN SIDE - 2019
Yeah - those are the Stone Warriors, but we’re mever explicitly referred to as demons. The first explicit callout referring to the Oni as demons came in season 8-10 of the show. Yeah - shame a lot of the really inventive and unique ghosts are digital only and all the ghosts figures we really get are possessed versions of physical things - I guess that sorta makes sense (ghosts don’t have form, the possessed people are the physical toys to play with) but still seems like a missed opportunity with some really fun and cool designs.

HIDDEN SIDE - 2019
New gameplay and animation SDCC trailer is out! https://youtu.be/OnHa4Cd03B0 Animation is looking really cool and sets itself apart from the style of Ninjago, Nexo Knights, and Chima - excited for this to come out! The Oni are explicitly referred to as demons several times in the Ninjago show, so it’s not necessarily new ground for Lego

HIDDEN SIDE - 2019
Tommy Andreasen, the guy behind this and Ninjago story-wise, has posted some teasers for tomorrow's SDCC panel, calling this "the scariest and most intense content I and LEGO have ever produced" Sounds exciting!

LEGO Ninjago 2019
We now have two more names - Kai’s Dragon and Jay’s Thunder Raider (from Rebooted). Given the time frame of these sets, I’m hoping Kai’s Dragon is an Elemental version, meaning that this is the first Legacy set to not be based on a previous Ninjago set (unless you count the polybag from skybound), which opens up new doors in terms of what we could see in the future! And that’s a good point about the golden mech - fingers crossed for the Overlord Dragon!
