  1. Wow, these are really, really impressive! I've been trying to reverse engineer those amazing torsos - any chance of providing half deconstructed photos?
  2. Yeah, I'm really worried as Tommy A has said many times that the special wraps up the multi-season arc that started with SoG, and I feel that the Oni should be a credible enough threat to at least last a season, and especially at least have their own unique minifigure forms.
  3. On brickseek, you can actually find any DPCI through a bit of a roundabout way - finding the Walmart SKU number through a search (just type in set number), then loading the UPC code through the Walmart searcher and copying/pasting the UPC into the Target checker to get DPCI.
  4. Probably a retailer exclusive, hence why it’s not in the catalogue. There’s usually one or two every wave.
  5. I love how the backs of the boxes show scenes from the TV show - it really feels like they’re making this wave with a lot of love and respect for what came before. After seeing the clear photos, Jay’s Storm Fighter is a clear and huge improvement - in fact, most of them are, save the Samurai Mech, which I’m still really disappointed in. I understand how it’s now to-scale with the show, but I feel like this model really fails to capture the shape of the original mech from the show, something ironically the scale model used in the Dimensions video game actually succeeded at.
  6. It’s just been announced that the 4-episode special is edited into a TV movie! https://twitter.com/tommyandreasen/status/1063491911527350273?s=21
  7. I’m guessing the new Ant Man/Wasp Helmet will be the one used for Firefly from DC, as it’s the exact correct shape along the sides and back. Still a flat printed front, sadly.
  8. Gotta say, I’m a bit disappointed with the redesigns. The Samurai Mech is almost unrecognizable and there doesn’t seem to be significant improvements to Cole’s Earth Driller (although I will say using a larger canopy is cool). The bikes are nice, though, and the Monastery looks amazing. Jay’s jet is partially obscured but the back looks good; it’s just the nose that looks really off somehow.
  9. Never played the game and know nothing about the characters, but some of the mechs actually look really cool (and the Hanzo vs Genji set looks straight out of Ninjago, one of the themes I love). I went into this theme with 0 interested but the sets are actually good enough to convince me to get some or even all of them. Well done, Lego!
  10. I totally agree. I get referencing the past, but all of these feel like a step back from current Ninjago, which reimagines characters and situations with a modern design standpoint, not just 2012 all over again. I do appreciate the idea of a legacy-esque wave, though, and the opportunity to get rehashed new designs is a huge opportunity.
  11. I heard a lot of complaints when the movie first was coming out, so that was what Lego could have been responding to. Never understood it - the movie hoods are the best we've gotten in my opinion, especially for poseability and head movement. This just feels like a step back.
  12. Honestly? This is probably a direct response to the initial backlash Sons of Garmadon got when they used the movie hoods and designs (something I never understood; the movie hoods are amazing) and an attempt to harken back to "classic" Ninjago, which is what this wave is all about. Now that people have gotten over the movie designs and have grown to like them, then Lego just now implements these classic-esque hoods with more limited head articulation, etc.
  13. As a PC gamer who usually religiously pre-orders all Lego games for the figure, the recent trend of minifigures being packaged in deluxe versions of the game (that are console-only) are pretty disappointing. I understand it’s probably a better system than the slightly shady bin of figures that may or may not be in stock at the store, but I wish Lego/TT Games would do something for us PC gamers.
  14. Seems like they've been reusing a lot of designs scrapped for the movie, which makes sense given the amount of work put into designing art for potential storylines from the movie - from the Vermillion to Teen Wu, I'm appreciating that not all of the great art is going to waste. I have to say, seeing Zane's icemobile, I'm a bit disappointed at the size. That doesn't look that much bigger than the side-build from 2012, and there's nothing too special about the construction either to warrant such a high price point. Wonder if it includes an enemy vehicle to race against, as I'm not seeing that big of an improvement here.
  15. If this is true, it could be where we finally get Cyrus Borg as well as Oni and non-Oni TV accurate Mystake!
  16. I like that the Carnage fig is a different take than the one in 2015. Shame about no more side printing, but it seems like Lego is doing that less and less frequently in mainstream sets.
  17. We still don’t know yet, but rest assured that at some point it’s coming.
  18. It’s definitely real, there’s a CGI tender of the minifig flying out just like last year’s, but what isn’t clear to me is what country the image is from. Edit - nevermind, it's Singapore.
  19. There’s an official-looking image floating around on Instagram showing a release date of 19-26 October for the Bricktober pack. I’m not sure what the region/context behind this photo is but it seems to match last year’s pack with a figure jumping out of the box.
  20. There’s an official image going around Instagram showing a release date for the Bricktober Ninjago pack to be 28 September to 4 October. The context/region of this image is unclear but it’s similar to last year’s image where they show a figure jumping out of the box
  21. Again, we have no idea. All we have are some images of new parts and set names. I’m sure all will be revealed closer to when these actually come out.
  22. I miss Nya's suit being gunmetal - I never liked the clashing azure and maroon (especially of her Possession suit), and I was really hoping the shift to gunmetal gray with azure accents would be permanent, because that just looks really cool. There's a chance this only applies for this "retro" wave and in the future, she'll be back to gunmetal, but we will see. I personally would be ok with a mix of everything like her Hands of Time suit, mainly gunmetal but with accents of maroon and azure.
  23. Hoods look nice on the outside, but I loved the full head turning the Ninjago Movie hoods allowed - it looks like these will limit head movement like the old hoods, unfortunately
  24. I feel like we’d have heard of these by now if they were happening, butboy do I hope these are true. Nya’s Tank/Battlewagon in particular seems like prime set material for an App-Controlled set - when I first saw it, the squished size and bulkiness reminded me of the App-Controlled Batmobile and I’m really surprised Lego missed the opportunity to make this one a set.
