Siegfried passed on the link for the ranks (EB Ranks) which explains what I think now some posts are calling badges as they are saying they have been made Gold, Silver, or Bronze. I think now that this refers to the students in the Reviewer's academy. He also explained that Decals ARE referring to stickers/decals for customizing minifigures and bricks. This helps me now and hopefully helps other newbies that see this strand! Wendy

Good to know. I'll make the adjustment! Thanks!

But isn't being a Grand Duke much more "elite"?!

What are members referring to when they say badges and decals? Are these the special tags for users or something else? Thanks.

Yes, the attached topic was helpful! So Siegfried, are the decals and badges that people are speaking of the special tags underneath the usernames on the left on the posts? Or are decals and badges something else altogether? Thanks for making me a Lady!

I have a question regarding forum time settings. Is there a separate setting for those locations that practice daylight savings time? I am in Columbus OH, USA, which is Eastern Standard Time (generally -5.00); however the time is set 1 hour after what time it actually is here in the states. My guess is that it's due to the practice of daylight savings time here. It's not a big deal, but would like to change the setting if there is one. Thanks.

I am new to the forum and have seen discussions of badges and decals quite often. I don't see definitions for these terms in the EB dictionary. I am familiar with other forums and they use terms for those items placed next to your username, if that's what badges and decals are, and they are just called avatars, sigtags, or blinkies (when they blink!). I was invited to come to the ladies forum to create a badge, but did not have a clue what to do. I asked to be added to the ladies list, but don't know if it's as easy as that. Or am I totally on the wrong track and are these ACTUALLY decals, like stickers for lego bricks?! Please help out a EB newbie! Thanks.
  8. I personally love to collect the unique minifigures, but I love them both equally. The minifigures are just so easy to put in a shadow box or printer's tray to display. My children love both as well, but it's not the same playing with your bricks without a minifigure to imagine the "world" with! legomama
  9. I am LEGOMAMA on the forums aka Wendy in real-life! I'm from Columbus, OH, USA. I am a parent of a 10 year old son and a 5 year old daughter, both who love to play with legos. I personally collect the unique minifigures that appeal to me. My children love all legos from Star Wars to Sponge Bob! I'm currently planning a birthday party for my daughter coming up in October with a lego theme. Both of my children want to be minifigures for Halloween, so that's a new project too! After joining Eurobricks I posted a topic on "Lego Avatars" sharing some fun software to create your own avatars, so check that out! Such fun! Take a look at that when you have a chance. Happy to meet you all! Wendy
  10. Thanks for posting the detail. You still can't look at the detail on the lego shop at home page. Here's the English translated link: English Translated Link Although this kit was purchased in the review for BIG BUCKS, it's only 59.99 now! My daughter is turning 6 in October and I'm planning a lego party. A lego party at the lego store is 169.99 or 189.99, so that's out, but this kit looks great as a start. Here are some more ideas for a good lego party from the lego club: Birthday Tips I think I'm definitely going to use these game ideas. I think I might do cupcakes though with a real brick on each and try to figure out a piece from pick-a-brick that can hold the candle. Birthday Express has "Legoville" for the younger kids that use Duplo, but that's too young for my daughter. But they do have some cute lego napkins with just bricks on them at Lego Napkins They're very cute! I'm trying to come up with a small kit that I can put together for each child. I found instructions for 7796 - a house, but am unsure of it's size. I think it's small because it's 53 pieces. Does anyone know the size of this house assembled? If anyone has any ideas for a small kit that might be appropriate for a Kindergarten girl, I'd appreciate the idea. Thanks all and hope the links help with your next party! Wendy

Very cute! There is a kid-friendly version and the one I posted. Both have very cute options. I used the kid-friendly version for my avatar (just updated it) and I used the standard software to create my photo. I was having so much fun that I couldn't have just one! I just found this tonight (It's almost 5:00 AM here --- thunderstorming and I can't sleep! ), so my kids are going to just love playing with this tomorrow when they find out!

For those of you that don't know or are new like me to the forum, there is a neat software package to use free on the internet to create your lego avatar. It's called Mini-Mizer 3.0 and is located at: http://www.reasonablyclever.com/?page_id=31 I'm using mine for my avatar and my photo in the forums. Enjoy!
