Built both of this year’s offerings. Both were very fun & par for the course for this theme. They’re still distinct enough to be their own build. Live the new toros on MK & Mei. -
Couldn’t agree more! I sadly missed out on the Dronecopter. While I haven’t looked recently, all parts to that Mr. Tang weren’t available through B&P(and haven’t looked elsewhere for him either). I really hope this theme hasn’t reached its end. It’s given us such great mechs & locations. The minifigs have been fantastic & a fun lesson in Chinese folklore on the side.

When I was reorganizing my minifigs I noticed Hermione in the Hogsmeade & Express set has a reddish brown wand instead of her normal dark tan one. Found that interesting & decided to share. (Hopefully I’m not repeating someone else pointing it out, been away from here for a bit)

Oh man, I would love that. All these great characters & it’s hard keeping up! Who’s related to who....and how. And all these cool places we’ve gotten as sets. More content about this classic story, the better. If this is the end I hope we at least get a Bull Demon King bigfig. I know he has the set, but he feels like a pivotal missing piece in the lineup.

It would be a real shame if this theme ended. I absolutely love it & the sets are fantastic & the minifigs have been top notch. On top of that, I’m learning things about Chinese folklore through the theme(it would be cool if they had those info pages in the front of these like they do for some D2C’s). Having just built the Pagoda, which is amazing, I read a bit about Nuwa & Li Jing(thanks to Lyichir info as well), both very cool beings & makes me look at the pagoda in a whole new light!

One thing I’m a bit puzzled by is the change of roof color. I’m still planning on pairing it with Heavenly Realms & it would’ve felt more cohesive with the and green roof. I’m still very excited to get it.

Very cool, nice work! One thing I would change is giving Gadget & Monty molded heads. They look a bit strange next to Chip n Dale who are.

And I bet the baby does too! This is what they need to do when they’re asking $45 for Calendars. All those sweaters, new scooter color. Great bits, always happy to get more food parts.

Basically everything but the Hall itself. All the underground rooms look fun, all the different students, Friar, Troll, Prof Vector.

Man! LEGO sure knows what they’re doing. When I heard a Great Hall was coming, I told myself I’m not getting it. Now I see pictures of it....and I have to get it!

Been quite a year for SW purchases with me, especially last month. 75345 501st Clone Trooper BP 75359 332nd Ashoka’s Clone Tropper BP 75348 Mandalorian Fang Fighter vs. TIE Interceptor and awaiting to be shipped 75362 Ashoka Tano’s T-6 Jedi Shuttle I was trying to stick to Phase 1(and ARF) army building...but I found 75345 cheap & the 332’s are just cool...nothing wrong with a slight detour.

I just finished building all the contents of the calendar & I got a repeat day. I’ll spoiler tag it for those who like to be surprised by the doors.

Is that for the whole of the sale? I can’t just redeem the 3 then go back & do it again? Or I can just get normal priced $5 ones I suppose. I have the points to get a $100 & $20(without taking the $5 sale into it). I could get the 3 discount ones & three regular $5 & still come out ahead....I think? Haha...I don’t do the discount thing that often, if it’s not obvious enough.

Oh man...that’s super weird then, that hairpiece isn’t even tied to someone in the set. Do the different departments not talk to each other?! Come on! Yeah, a non green accented hairpiece would also be welcomed.

Does anyone have an idea how many, if there is a limit, $x discounts you can redeem in store? After I redeem for the $100 off I’ll have 2,720 left which I was planning on getting a $20 discount. But with the $5 being 162 pats each I could buy a lot...16 of them. Will that work? I’ve never done this many(doubt anyone else has either...).

Totally agree. I love both hairpieces & would love to see them in more colors. Mateo’s hair in black would’ve been perfect for Lee Jordan(although the hobbit hairpiece in black is a welcomed addition). We definitely need Izzie’s hair in more realistic colors.

What a fantastic set! Another one loaded with character(both minifig & buildings)! I didn’t realize we were gonna be getting such a sprawling Megaopolis, I love it. Hopefully it’ll as well priced as Lanterns was...and that LEGO would finally put these sets back in stores.

I agree & disagree. I agree with you on the color part...I’m not sure why we need three shades of azure(along with all the other shades of blue we also have. I’ve only started MOCing & I still keep my set parts together, in most cases so the wide array of parts doesn’t bother me even if I do find it a bit unnecessary. Where I disagree(although this was later addressed) is you just have to get him certain sets to fill out parts he may use. Classic boxes have quite a variety of parts in all kinds of price ranges.

They’ve released a UCS alongside a Modular in the past. It was Slave 1 & Detective’s Office. Trust me, January 1st sees plenty of traffic for at least the last decade. I just can’t see any reason to suddenly now change the release date. If they wanted Christmas sales out of it...why now? It’s not like they’re hard up for sales. It just doesn’t make any sense. I love olive green but on a museum? Odd choice but I’m open to it. The white pillars will definitely be striking against it. Maybe it works well with the little garden areas on either side of the steps.

I’m sorta in that boat. Cafe Corner will always be one of my favorites simply for the fact that it was first. However, I feel like Green Grocer is the perfect balance. A nice detailed ground floor that has a lot of windows & not much going on inside. I’m not big on interiors since I rarely see them after I’m done or am rearranging. I appreciate them during the build because it means does things up a bit though & there is some fun bits in there. Same. I love the multiple buildings on a baseplate as it feels like a full street scene happening.

The more I look at Gringotts perched atop the vaults, I’m starting to come around to it. I won’t ever love it, but I’m fine with it. Even still, it’s (sort of) a $200 waste & it’s just going to sit in the corner without a purpose.

I’m pretty easy going when it comes to Modulars. There isn’t one I don’t like. A friend though has pretty strong opinions of dislike on a handful of them. I’ve only ever gone so far as saying Grand Emporium is a boring looking building...but that’s because it’s a shopping mall. It’s not like they’re exactly known for their beautiful architecture.
