  1. I'm going to guess Bonanza, I've never seen a minute of the film but its the only older odd western I know of
  2. Book: for Proto Fett Anakin's Custom Starfighter B-Wing and both May 4th promo items
  3. not sure what you are experiencing, flickr is fine for me. in the mean time everything I've posted here is also on my MOCpages (link in signature) pics are lower resolution but its better than nothing.
  4. So i decided I'd share the wheel technique used on the Viper (again an adaptation on ER0L's) but the difference might not have been obvious to all, so here you go! i used the City vehicle moon hubcap as a Brake Rotor here, and i think it looked pretty good.
  5. I hit up every store that normally carries these types of books in my town, 3 didn't have them at all, Wal-mart wouldn't go check "not my area" and Meijer had already been ripped off, every book had the figure stolen out of them... I now have an order with Amazon....
  6. Well time to reveal the new car, not many guesses though (not really a surprise the picture was very vague ) of the guesses i did receive one was "German" nope sorry, another was "Japanese, Skyline or another Nissan or Honda?" also nope. the correct answer? The Dodge Viper ACR (2009) The American Club Racing (ACR) model's upgrades included street-legal racing tires (Michelin Pilot Sport Cups which Michelin describes as "Ultra-High Performance Sport tires"),two-piece brake rotors, adjustable suspension, and significant aerodynamic revision. No engine modifications were made, so power and torque remain at 600 hp (450 kW) and 560 lb·ft (760 N·m) as in the standard SRT-10. The ACR is street-legal! Weight was also decreased by 40 lb (18 kg) by using the "Hardcore Package", without AC, radio, speakers, amplifier, trunk carpet, hood pad or tire-inflator. Its aerodynamic upgrades produce up to 1000 pounds of downforce at 150 mph (240 km/h), or roughly 10 times the downforce the standard Viper SRT-10 can produce at the same speed. The interior was upgraded only by the addition of a beacon-tripped lap timer (Hardcore Edition Only). The Lego version is quite similar, with its aggressive stance, large brakes, and complete aerodynamic package. this Viper is ready to Terrorize the streets of a quite Lego city near you! (well maybe only near me for now). so here it is, The 2009 Dodge Viper ACR, 6w+, 18 studs long! Side view here it is easy to see the large disc brakes. Big thank you to ER0L for showing the tire trick this was adapted from! the signature A-symetrical racing stripes are very easy to see from this angle, running across the entire car length! this last one is for the MOCpages contest, just to prove that yes a Figure can fit in the car completely! (if i remove the stripe on the roof i can give him a helm too) I hope you liked my build! comments and Critiques always welcomed! Also posted at: http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/411434
  7. Teaser time! I've completed a new car BUT! this time I'm only giving you 1 picture for now. I'll post the entire car either in the next day or so, or shortly after a correct guess is made on the car built :)
  8. hmm now that you mention rockets... it did carry the Saturn V rocket too! and a 7foot 3inch tall scale model of that on the crawler would be a sight worth seeing! (not to mention the support tower would take the model over 8 feet tall easily) Sorry, our goals for your build are getting a little carried away
  9. good luck on this Endeavor, though I do wonder if you'll be able to gear this thing slow enough to accurately replicate a 1:50th scale speed of 2mph. I did the math and that's a 84.4 inches(2.14meters) per minute. then there is the loaded speed of half that... either way I can't wait to see this completed, good luck Challenger, we await your next Discovery!
  10. if you look back a few pages I posted a mod to stop the rattles on the side panels, this has also helped limit the sagging from being on the stand.
  11. anyone else notice the Jawa on that Advent box art? I don't remember seeing him in previous pictures.
  12. The "Q" or Q siren, is a very simple mechanical siren which produces a very loud wailing sound (much the same as a tornado siren). in reality not all Fire Engines / Ladders / Tankers have them but to many Firemen it is one of the requirements for a "Real Engine" and its not uncommon (at least around me) to hear complaints about trucks without a Q. the Q itself has been used since WWII and has been used for emergency vehicles ever since. many older firefighters only had the Q their trucks (and possibly the classic brass bell too) up until the addition of electronic sirens. so thanks to my upbringing I've come to be part of the group that has to have a Q on the truck, there just isn't a sound in the world as wonderful as that steadily raising wail (there are electronic versions now, but its still not quite the same tone) Sound of a Q siren: http://i.ytimg.com/...xresdefault.jpg Edit: somehow I linked the image… oops Video of Q siren sound:
  13. wow, just noticed I never commented on this. (shame on me) Absolutely love this truck though, and seeing as I've resigned myself to 6w+ for all city cars an 8w+ fire engine really is about right to me. and the styling reminds me of the newer Seagrave trucks. but there is 1! huge, colossal, catastrophic, and utterly unforgivable thing wrong with this truck..... Where is the Q? everyone knows that a proper American fire engine must have a well maintained and polished chrome Q!

LDD file added to mocpages entry: LDD KTM X-BOW hope you enjoy having your own mini X-Bow (its a little fragile as I'm sure you will soon find out)
  15. GallardoLU replied to GallardoLU's post in a topic in LEGO Town
oh, yeah forgot about the LDD file I had promised. I'll add the file to my MOC pages account in a few hours. (around 6pm Eastern time)
  16. Very nice, although you named it Ferrari, it has a very distinct Audi Avus Quatro look to it. nice and sleek, and very wide! throw some smaller tires under those fenders and you have a nice custom car for your city layout

np, which ever you like best
  18. the screw up is only really in the reveals, a good multi day reveal should have day one be strong get people talking and excited for the next days, then some lower level sets in between, and finish with the most anticipated set you are going to show. *IF* you finish on a crappy set or one no one wants even if its good then you risk people at future events only being interested in the first day events and attendance falls off dramatically for the final day. That said i am now realizing lego could reveal a brown turd call it anything and the booth would still be packed with people because Lego....

well i did it, i finally acquired every single set that the Slave I has appeared in. from the tiny micro models in the 2 advent calenders, to the newest might UCS set. (no key-chains though, i don't count those as sets) so here they are, a completed collection of every Slave I from Lego (both Jango and Boba versions): pictured are: set# 7144: 1999 set# 7153: 2002 set# 4487: 2003 set# 6964: 2004 set# 6209: 2006 set# 8097: 2010 set# 20019: 2011 set# 7951: 2011 (part of Advent calender) set# CELEBVI: 2012 set# 75023: 2013 (part of Advent calender) set# 75060: 2015
  20. thanks for the breakdown on how to make those wheels, so simple and striking, will definitely use that on future builds. love the Ferrari and all your other cars, but the Ferrari is by far my favorite.
  21. with all the hype that seems to be around Lego reveals and Jango being the "Finale" by the looks of things he had better be the best of the group by a serious margin. if not then lego really screwed up on this event
  22. Star Wars needs a Villain that: 1, lasts through the first film in an impressive way, heroes survive and thwart the plan but take heavy losses. 2, a villain who's first scene is a wave of devastation. and most importantly 3, isn't bested in a way that undermines the character's abilities (Vader knocked out of fight by a stray tie... Emperor thrown off a balcony...) as for sets, I can't wait to see the new Tie, and shuttle craft in Lego form. and I know it's not been mentioned yet but the new Star Destroyer screams UCS treatment!
  23. Although your point is valid, talking about the new film does also matter to this thread to a point. speculation into what the future sets will be is what this thread is for until the sets are revealed. this is a rumors thread, so you have to expect a certain amount of off topic talk either for or against set possibilities. That said, if anyone wants to talk about the trailer / film without relation to future sets then yes please head over to the multimedia area where that discussion belongs.

Random facts about my car history (all 12 years of it): My first car was my fastest and most powerful: 1994 Chevy Caprice Police Package (Corvette LT1 engine swapped) and yes it had the Police push bar still I’ve owned a Front wheel drive (98 Eagle Talon), Rear wheel drive (94 Caprice) and All wheel drive vehicle (2004 Subaru STi ) I’ve been airborne in my car (hit railroad tracks WAY to fast, in a village I’d never been to before (the caprice) I’ve driven on Michigan International Speedway with my own car. STi The STi has $400 headlights $800 for the pair… (Auto adjusting, with remote override)
  25. Jango Fett, and Boba Fett have both appeared on different lists, not a clue which one really to expect. Jango was technic built previously, so good chance a repeat of that, but Boba is far more popular. i'm leaning to think it will be Boba, we will have 3 prequel and 3 OT figures of Boba is made, and only 2 OT if Jango is made. guess we will see soon enough though!
