Review: 75060 Slave I
I built mine and decided to skip the stickers entirely and it looks fantastic still. it wasn't until I looked at this review that I even remembered there were stickers to add. this set is one of those Gems that if you build it and sticker it, it looks stunning, and if you don't sticker it, well it still looks stunning! (in my opinion)

GUESS what this Part is?
So hints so far are… There are at least 100 of these. They are Always in front of us. Part of a TV in a “Metaphysical” way. (Metaphysics implies that it isn’t a tangible object) So, is it a shadow? There are always shadows, and its non-tangible, can be cast from a TV screen. (and I’m probably thinking to analytically for this, but I I’m intrigued enough to keep trying)

[MOC] McLaren F1
GallardoLU replied to Pvdb's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modelingwell I was sort of right (except I really wasn't) the fronts and rears are both 17" rims, and have a side wall of 45, but tire width changes side wall actual height. and with 235s front but 315s rear.... the side wall does increase in size, which translates into a 3 inch difference in rear tire OD over the front. learn something I already knew again :Pwith the Tire debate settled, let me compliment you on a remarkably well built and stunning car. instantly recognizable as a McLaren F1. I would love to have a model that looks as good as this does!

[MOC] McLaren F1
GallardoLU replied to Pvdb's post in a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modelingthere are some supercars that run an inch or 2 larger rears but the McLaren F1 isn't one of those cars, the rear tires are far wider than the fronts bit diameter is the same. EDIT: *see below, where I prove myself incorrect*

[MOC]: Gallardo's Garage (6-wide Cars)
The Renault Alpine A442B, was the 1978 winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and was the 3rd year in which it competed. after the victory Renault withdrew from endurance racing entirely, and moved into F1 racing. the A442 was the last French built and designed car to win the Iconic French 24 Heures du Mans. My MOC is of the A442, before the "Bubble Top" was added to the car, the "Bubble" was used on the 1978 victory car. this is my longest city car to date, at 19 studs in length. this is due to the extremely long rear section which was meant to reduce drag for the very high speed Mulsanne straight, at Circuit de la Sarthe (name of the track which hosts the 24 hours of Le Mans) the Minifig driver sits fully upright in this car thanks to its open roof design.

[MOC]: Gallardo's Garage (6-wide Cars)
Welcome to Gallardo's Garage, here I will be posting up each of my newest city Car MOCs including past cars I've already shared here. the newest car will be added to the end of this first post. Featured New Car: The Dodge Viper ACR (2009) The American Club Racing (ACR) model's upgrades included street-legal racing tires (Michelin Pilot Sport Cups which Michelin describes as "Ultra-High Performance Sport tires"),two-piece brake rotors, adjustable suspension, and significant aerodynamic revision. No engine modifications were made, so power and torque remain at 600 hp (450 kW) and 560 lb·ft (760 N·m) as in the standard SRT-10. The ACR is street-legal! Weight was also decreased by 40 lb (18 kg) by using the "Hardcore Package", without AC, radio, speakers, amplifier, trunk carpet, hood pad or tire-inflator. Its aerodynamic upgrades produce up to 1000 pounds of downforce at 150 mph (240 km/h), or roughly 10 times the downforce the standard Viper SRT-10 can produce at the same speed. The interior was upgraded only by the addition of a beacon-tripped lap timer (Hardcore Edition Only). The Lego version is quite similar, with its aggressive stance, large brakes, and complete aerodynamic package. this Viper is ready to Terrorize the streets of a quite Lego city near you! (well maybe only near me for now). so here it is, The 2009 Dodge Viper ACR, 6w+, 18 studs long! Side view here it is easy to see the large disc brakes. Big thank you to ER0L for showing the tire trick this was adapted from! the signature A-symetrical racing stripes are very easy to see from this angle, running across the entire car length! this last one is for the MOCpages contest, just to prove that yes a Figure can fit in the car completely! (if i remove the stripe on the roof i can give him a helm too) Current cars: KTM X-BOW: (Original thread: X-BOW) Ford GT40 MKI: (Original Thread:GT40) Renault Alpine A442: (Original Post:A442) Pagani Huayra: (Original Post:Huayra) Maserati MC12: (Original Post:MC12) Renault Espace F1: (Original Post:Espace F1) Dodge Viper ACR: (Original Post:Viper ACR) Comments and Critiques are welcomed for all cars!

[MOC] 1966 Ford GT40 MKI
Thanks, I've played around the lines on it a couple times since posting this, and i keep coming back the the what you see already. the only change that has been made to the car is new headlights as mentioned above. I found a simple little trick that allows a for more accurate headlight shape. good luck on your version as well! Ford GT40 headlights 2.0

Is it ethical to sell the bricks needed to make someone else's MOC
its not unheard of for people to sell MOCs like what you described, but there are usually 3 routes that happen. 1st, you sell the MOC and the original designer finds out and gets upset. 2nd, you sell the MOC and no one finds out (or if they do, are cool with the sale). and 3rd (the right choice in my opinion) You contact the original designer, get permission to sell the MOC, and then sell to whom ever and everyone is happy.

In which country is Lego the cheapest....
another consideration that is very hard to calculate accurately is what each USD/EURO/GBP's buying power is. for example in the US if I had 100USD places like Indiana can buy approx. 110usd worth of general goods (meaning the dollar is stronger) while someone in California can only buy around 85 USD in general goods.... So the price of Lego is uniform sure, but the impact on Indiana is far less than the impact in California. (and for those wondering there was a study done not to long ago rating the value of the Dollar on a state by state basis, if anyone wants a source I can look it up again for you)

if you do add a bias factor, you may need to take into account when that person first arrived in SoNE, for example I arrived for EP6, but missed EP7, so my participation is at exactly 50% but if going back to EP2, its only 14%. so I think a good measure would be to go from first entry each person has had, and then ad a factor based on total entries (as an adder to our rankings amounting to at most 10% of the ranking criteria. (scored from 1-7 would probably suffice, 1 point per episode entered)

Lucky LEGO finds

trust them to not read here, no we cant do that, in fact we can be assured at one Bothan Spy will find his way here the bigger question is are we as a group going to sit down and agree to not "spy" on the rebels? I for one vote no spying (un-enforceable i'm aware, but at least put it out there that we intend to play as fairly as possible)

MOC: The Cars of Wasabi District
on the Vette, overall its a great looking representation of the new Vette, the vent below the mirrors is well done along with the main body work. the only things I would try and change are the roof line, one plate lower I think would put it better in line with the real car's profile. this however might push it to low to fit a figure upright inside, which I don't usually worry about, but I know others that do. the only other change would be to move the 2 1x2 curved plates back so that the 1x3 angled plates points are not hidden beneath. your current model makes the nose feel more Ferrari and a bit less Vette. Keep the cars coming! its motivating seeing all these great cars, and helps keep me building them as well!

2015 Speed Champions Sets - Rumours and Discussion
So, I finally got my hands on the P1, and the LaFerrari, and I both love and hate them both. for Lego sets the both do a great job (once stickered) of representing the cars they are modeled after. the P1 I agree is less impressive than the LaFerrari (and I am a huge fan of the P1) the color of the McLaren is wonderful though, and I need to get quite a bit more of that color for a custom P1 attempt later on. but the down side is hard to ignore, and that is how tall and long these are as 6wide cars. I feel this comes down to the massively oversized wheels added to these cars. they are comparable to 40 inch rims on a real car (relative to a minifigure's height if assumed to be 6 foot tall) the real cars are all between 44, and 46 inches in height but in Lego's version they are much closer to 72inch (full minifig height) my GT40 MKI is a full brick shorter (and still a bit too tall) but its profile is nearly spot on for its scale. I'll post up a picture to better drive this point home later on. so over all for a "Lego-ized" model in city scale I feel they are just too big, while still being accurate enough and enjoyable. i'll probably complete the road car sets but wont spring for the F1 cars (at least not yet)

[Review]: 75079 - Shadow Troopers
the "Imperial remnant" is now Disney Legends material and therefor not Cannon. the other entry you reference is from a time after the second Deathstar is destroyed. a time when a group called "the Empire of the Hand" who are also no longer cannon. limiting the time frame to only the era of the films it is clear that Human, and Clone are the only ones serving in the Imperial military, and those humans that serve must fall in a certain size group. (edit: the below is taken from the very same wiki page) "After the failed uprising on Kamino in 12 BBY, Emperor Palpatine came to the conclusion that an army of clone soldiers was far too susceptible to corruption. Thus, he expanded the Stormtrooper Corps to include clones that were created from a variety of genetic templates, effectively marginalizing Jango Fett's progeny into a minority status.[13] In addition to the massive influx of new clone sources, the Corps began recruiting real Human beings to serve in the ranks as enlisted stormtroopers.[19] If a man between the ages of 18 and 30 scored in the top fifth percentile, an Imperial recruiting agent would contact him and presumably arrange for the extraction of a DNA sampling for cloning. Men who did not score high enough to qualify as a genetic template were still used as regular soldiers. Also, it was preferable if enlisted troopers met a certain standard in height and weight.[source?]Princess Leia Organa was seemingly familiar with Stormtrooper Corps's standards by 0 BBY, perhaps as a result of her work with the Imperial Senate.[2] For a time, the Stormtrooper Corps remained evenly balanced between clones and recruits, at least until the onset of the Imperial Civil War, which occurred alongside the ongoing Galactic Civil War. Due to the loss of Kamino and its cloning facilities, as well as many other cloning centers throughout the galaxy, clone stormtroopers became a rare commodity that the Empire could no longer afford to sustain.[30] As the Galactic Empire's unity became undermined by various splinter cell factions, a few successor states opted to vastly reform the Imperial recruiting policy. Unlike the old Empire, the Empire of the Hand recruited stormtroopers from a variety of Humanoid sources. Though the stormtrooper ranks remained consistently dominated by Human male recruits, it marked the first time that Non-Humans were allowed to serve as Imperial soldiers.[27]"
