  1. there is also the Toronto FanExpo, Lego is going to be there, with a Star Wars exclusive set(Rebels Ghost if you've forgotten) it starts on August 29th. Would make sense for them to announce it there if its going to be a Oct, or Nov, release.
  2. MR Man, I'm not sure where you found your info but it appears to be incorrect. A very famous Noah Webster is the cause of many of the words being different. color being one of them. he also is the reason for Theater, the letter Zee (not Zed) risk instead of risqué (Brittan would later adopt, though I could not find when it happened). the list is quite long. all of it was done for a singular purpose, to separate the newly formed United States from Great Brittan as much as possible. OK that said, lets get back into a galaxy far far away
  3. it's not being lazy it's being efficient!
  4. first and foremost in my purchases I look for any representation of a bounty hunter, from any sub theme group (even characters disguised as a bounty hunter apply to this) if this is met its an Automatic purchase, no other info needed. if that is not met the next criteria is Expanded Universe (not CW, rebels, OT, or PT) if that is met its an auto buy. after that is OT starting with ships/locations I don't already have. for example I have an AT-AT, so the new one is on the back burner currently, it will be a sale purchase but not full retail. finally if there are no OT sets I don't have a representation of then I look to PT, CW, and Rebels equally.
  5. I'm working on it! but there are not many missions suitable to a pilot there! (but seriously i am working on a build there)
  6. well, those are currently the only UCS sets I own, and the SSD is extremely impressive. if it is only for display then its definitely a good choice. 75059 is also an impressive sight, the play factors are huge, and it suits itself well to scenes. the figures in the Sandcrawler are great (Jawas have only ever been in the Sandcrawler sets). if I were to chose one of the 2 to buy again it would be the Sandcrawler, but if I was only going to rebuild one of them the SSD is a more entertaining build. tough call though both are well worth grabbing!
  7. Still more than a week left on voting, the wait is killing me (not literally of course) can't wait to see who the lucky winners will be, so many great entries! and I'm kind of glad I am not permitted to vote (joined to late) because I am not sure I could limit it to 9 votes! I would need almost 300
  8. I expect these to settle around 70 bucks and the SDCC ones to dip a bit but still hold a slightly higher value. will be interesting to see what happens though.
  9. personally I enjoy the palace far more than the Barge. the rancor is really the only part of that set that is all that interesting though. at the same time the Skiff is a nice fairly cheap set with a very detailed Boba Fett. it really comes down to figures in the end though I think. which of the extra characters do you like most? (ideally get all 4 sets, but I know that's not an option for every one)
  10. am I reading this right? Kragle AND clone bricks... you might as well forsake Lego all together! however, I know a few highly skilled painters who could easily paint that into a Lego Death Star. that is the only reasonable option I can see.
  11. check the date on that VHS tape if it is from before 1997 you likely have an original film (ok not original, as the film was sped up by 3% making it just a couple minutes shorter, with out losing a single scene) also some sounds have changed which you may never even notice :)
  12. Yes, its the exact same part, and its the only printed part on the whole model, should be able to build a replica of it for about 20 bucks (plus more if you want Kanan too)
  13. actually I'd bet this set will sell very poorly, relative to the SDCC version. there are already 1000 of this exact same ship out there (with Chopper, not a unique one at that) and The Kanan Jarrus in this is also NOT unique. making it 2000 ghosts out there. I like that Lego is redoing an exclusive set with a different figure, its a cheap way to get more sets out there to the people that can't all get to SDCC (and hopefully other future shows will be the same way)
  14. 7130 is by far my favorite, I know its not accurate in shape, but it was my first Lego Star Wars set, so it picks up points for that. the following ones have improved but not far enough, there are still to many flaws for me to hold one over the others, so nostalgia wins it for me.
  15. Glad you like the combo, I didn't note it in the first post but the Minifig part was actually an after thought. I built the micro scale hillside and wreckage and had a large empty area under it, so I built the Minifig scene to fill that space too. as for the head piece it is from the Sith warrior in set 75025: Jedi Defender Class-class Cruiser. *Edit: yes the above head is the one from 75025*
  16. AudiBobaR5-D2, to answer your questions to build Cloud City (with out figures) can be done fairly cheaply, (estimate 150-250 range) but if you want the figures to go with it that will climb to 500+ for the entire set, even pieced together. your second question of making a bigger MOC of Cloud City is tough to know, start on the high side for the no figure version and add in the changes you have in mind, this could come in from 250 to well over the price of a complete set depending on your changes.
  17. I Love the cross over ones with GotG! specially the second one!
  18. well as it has been noted above selling any sets is just not something i ever plan on doing. BUT if it came down to that there are 2 sets i would go out of my way to hold onto. first being the Original Snow Speeder 7130 (1999) this was my first Star Wars set and is my sentimental favorite. the other one i would fight tooth and nail to hold onto is Celebration V Bounty Hunter Cude Dudes. far and away my most prized set!
  19. i know overhang is allowed, but i am concerned that the Mon Calamari is standing outside the 16x16. the rest of the build looks really good, just needs some final clean up near the glass windows. (some foundation would really spruce it up well)
  20. on the earthy tree note, i literally just played the Felucia level of Force Unleashed last night, and most of the colors are browns, very little ground cover, and mammoth fungi, some of which were tall brown stalks surmounted by a egg shaped mushroom top. so from a ground perspective they appear to be giant tree trunks, until you look upward. over all though this has a very otherworldly feel to it and definitely leads me to believe this is Felucia more than any other planet in star wars universe.
  21. thanks for comments, it wasn't until you mentioned it that i realized i still had the green plate under the build, that's now removed and I've also reworked the base to remove the white, and replaced it with light bley. the rock wall I'm working on changing a bit, the problem with that is 2 fold. 1, its not actually meant to be all rock, this is a junk yard planet, so i was trying to make junk covered walls, so in some sections you can see past the surface junk to larger structures behind it, but it is a bit jarring on the eyes. the 2nd problem I'm facing is parts, not a large stock of browns Thanks also for the compliments on the wreckage and interior, those are my favorite parts as well. @Lego3364 thank you too! i'll have updated pictures swapped in in a few days, no point rushing those at this point.
  22. Gallardo reporting for duty, after returning from Ord Mantell: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=99035 (episode 6 entry)
  23. Officer: Pilot, you are needed for a Patrol mission over Ord Mantell. Gallardo: Sir, what am i paroling for? Officer: this is a special mission from Lord Vader, you are to fly to the surface and look for any indication the Bounty Hunter known as Boba Fett, is still on the planet. Gallardo: Understood sir, if i should find this hunter what is the objective? Officer: umm.. tell him Lord Vader says "Thank You" Gallardo: affirmative, *chuckling* does this come with Hazard pay? Officer: Yes actually, and if you are successful in delivering the message you will have the freedom to chose your next deployment. Gallardo: Yes sir! i will leave immediately! *Patroling the war torn Surface a ship matching that of Boba Fett's is spotted* Gallardo: Star Ship Firespray, Identify yourself! Firespray: ------ Gallardo: Star Ship Fierspray, i repeat Identify yourself! Firespray: ------ Gallardo: Command, this is Imperial Patrol 300418, I'm in pursute of a Firespray class ship, its not responding, what are your orders? Command: Do Not Fire! this is a peace mission. follow that ship, Boba Fett is notorious for not responding when spoken to. Gallardo: Affirmative, pursuing unidentified Firespray class ship. the Junk wall, notto be confused with rocks, i wanted the appearance that this was a cliff made from ancient structures, ships, and who knows what else, with the possibility of collapse at any moment. imperial hallway, simple efficient and clean I had quite a lot of fun with this challenge, below are a couple pictures showing the scene in full and how it managed to fit in a 16x16 box! (barely) Changes from original: Base has been redone to remove the white, and to clean up the presentation. Rusted junk wall/rocks have been redone to minimize floating bricks, this wasn't completely achieved due to my small assortment of browns. check the spoiler below to see the originals. over all it was minor changes. Hope you enjoyed this episode! and Constructive Criticism is welcomed!
  24. yes that may be the new storm trooper helmet. its not confirmed but a picture of the same real helm has also leaked. I'm guessing this will belong to a "New Empire" Stormtrooper. one can only hope!
