  1. The switch moves in tandem with the arm. It should be resting at the same angle when not in use.
  2. I'm actually hoping for an array of stickers. Not for the books themselves, but to use for custom classrooms in my Hogwarts builds. I've zero interest in little fold up books, but I'm anticipating unseful stickers and little builds. :)
  3. It's just so much more cost effective. You get exactly who you want without extras to unload later, and no shipping fees. I also try to favor shopping at local stores rather than ordering. Even the big chains provide jobs for local people, versus random warehouses who knows where. That, and mail order can be extremely inconvenient if you work 9-5 hours. Couriers are unforgiving sometimes. Sadly, with the pandemic, it's really not a viable option. I ended up grabbing random fistfuls and did manage to get the whole set in two goes, at about 1/3 the cost of a box. I've a disproportionate number of spares this time, but I still came out ahead.
  4. I may be in the minority here, but I really just want to see Hogwarts modules more than anything else they might offer. The bell towers would be amazing! More little sets like the RoR would be great too, but I want to see sets to add to the silhouette of the rooftops. For minifigs, the only character I'm really jonesing for at this point is Kreacher.
  5. I really hope so! I was enjoying the FB films and Lego sets long before hopping on the HP train this year. It feels woefully underrepresented in the theme, but the sets and minifigs we did get are all spectacular. I'd love to see more!
  6. Just to match the facade detail, it needs to be far more intricate than the average Hogwarts build. The price point on the DA buildings is based on it being a D2C, which have lower ppp ratios than mass commercial releases. The Hogwarts sections all have less than 1000 pieces, whereas DA has an average of 1160 pieces per section. That, and Gringotts will need to be built up on a larger baseplate in order to align with the DA shoppes. The Hogwarts builds are all constructed on regular plates. I just can't see a satisfactory build coming from anything but a larger than average set. /shrug
  7. Wait until you've built DA. It is wildly out of scale with the rest of the line. Which is fine, it's a lovely build. Compare the structres of any of the castle modules to any of the shoppes in DA though, and you'll find them a bit lacking. They'd need to at the very least double the piece count on one of those to produce a Gringotts that wouldn't look positively anemic next to the rest of DA.
  8. The castle sections are the main appeal, imho. I don't know that I'd have started collecting the theme without the lure of those builds to sucker me in. Everything else is fantastic, but I love the castle itself. I think next year is going to be very expensive (again). If, as people seem to believe, Gringotts is coming, it will need to be a large 200$+ set to scale properly with the buildings in DA. They're out of scale with the builds in the main line. I'd almost expect it to be another stand alone D2C set. I do hope they have room to include another castle section in the wave.
  9. I didn't really pay attention on the first day. I was at it most of the day, until my back and fingertips (so many little 1x1 plates to align perfectly) hurt too much to continue. It took me about three hours to build WWW yesterday though. In comparison, it took me about an hour to build 4 Privet Drive this morning. There are suddenly so many sets to build, after months of nothing but minifigs and polybags here. I'm almost there though. Just the Astronomy Tower, Grawp, Headwig, and the RoR to go. I should be all caught up by this weekend! :)
  10. Yeah, nobody gets an assigned wand. There are so many in the set though that you can just give them each one as you like. I'm 3/4 done building it now, and the only complaint I have so far is the dreadfully printed newspapers. They all look like they've been smudged. I've never seen such dodgy printing from Lego before. At least it's just the DP prints though. I've several decent ones already from other sets.
  11. Which is insane. You were on the fence before, but one disheveled Harry figure is the tipping point? He's absolutely going in a ziplock with all of the other extra, unwanted Harry variants straight away.
  12. The Astronomy Tower cuts a few corners, but I don't really mind. If the use of the window frames allowed them to release it on budget, I don't mind chipping in pieces from my own collection to fill in the gaps. The structure is otherwise on point. That's the only set in the line where I feel it's a bit lacking. The other sets have all been brilliant.
  13. I'm fine with DA as it is. I hope the add the bank next year. Other than that, I've zero interest in seeing any more of it. As it it is, it threatens to overshadow the castle... which is absurd. There are far more interesting things in the HP universe than more shoppes. I do hope DA is a one and done affair.
  14. Distribution is so broken with the HP stuff. I finally found some new stuff on local shelves today, but it was the advent calendar and the CMFs. No sign of the summer sets anywhere yet (other than ordering on S@H), which were released across the pond long before either the CMFs and thd calendar were even announced. So, I've got a pile of new characters and furniture now, but no new spaces to put them in, hahaha.
