Wow that's a really neat idea and execution. I love the way you used all those islander parts as well as the nice use for that bionicle head. And the townhouse next door is also really nicely detailled, great job!! Is that red giant tiki idol also coming from the islanders series? (Sorry for the ignorance)

Yes, I've never found a satisfying way to reproduce the rainbowy mosaics on the front walls, hence my constant postponing on the project, yet I always find myself thinking back to it because it would be my dream peace to achieve to MOC and stuff in my modular street. There was a pretty cool moc for it here but it's nowhere close to modular scale, plus I think the technic you used for the roof gives a better result. Oh well, I'll keep trying. PS: Nice sagrada familia too ;)

Wow, that Sweets & co is just stunning, and I love the final result of the look for the walls, it really achieves the effect well. (I'm also in love with the roof aspect of Old ben's gallery, it really does look like it). I've been trying to MOC a modular-ish Casa Batllo for my city and I've never quite found a way that statisfied me to render the outside walls sadly, but your roof is on the spot! Really cool work!

Fallout 4 - Red Rocket Refuelling Station
EvilBlackSheep replied to Rolli's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I know i'm late to the party because however I missed this post back then, but luckily somebody on the lego subreddit quoted your picture as an example of what an amazing lego fallout set could be and here i am. I wanted to say i had seen other Fallout Mocs before but yours is just so incredible I'm speechless -
As someone who has the original, I'm really a bit bummed. I mean i'm glad for people who had missed the first one but I'm pretty sure for me it's a pass, I don't think i can afford to buy this as an 'update'. Like some have said I'm not sure how it makes me feel for the next modular. (I have missed the first modulars BUT i don't think it's interesting if they start cycling them and not add any new).

I was already totally in love with your previous winter builds (especially the chalet, I'm still amazed by all the details of it) and this one is no exception. I really admire all the attention you put into details, I wish I could manage to see it in person some day. Great great work :)

2015 The LEGO Movie rumors and discussion
EvilBlackSheep replied to just2good's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Is there something up with the Lego Movie sets from the last wave? I mean i understand that the ones from the first wave are now hard to find for some of them, but I've been looking for the double decker couch for weeks now and it's out everywhere, and even the online lego shop (at least the french one) have it out of stock for what seems to be forever (no future availability/wait date on the page). In the end I had to go out of my way and pay it more than what it's originally worth, and of course it's my own fault for not getting it immediately, but it's a 2015 set still, how come it's already out of the line (or at least it seems so)? -
[MOC] Modular Bike Shop and Cafe 31026 (WIP)
EvilBlackSheep replied to Tombacus's topic in LEGO Town
Nice structure! You can make the appartment of the cafe's owner on the second and third floor maybe? -
If it helps, my sister used a "soft" laminating sheet one of those that leave the thing pretty thin & flexible afterwards ? I'm not sure of the details as i don't have a laminating machine myself but i can always ask if you want. In any case, yours really looks better as i said, especially the sidewalks part. What is nice is that the kids don't really mind those are not lego, they're just happy to have the road :)
-
That's a great idea! I would recommend laminate it indeed, my sister did the same kind of thing for my nieces to add around their lego town when she saw the price of the road plates (but with a less pretty sidewalk than yours) then passed it to the laminating machine she has at home. Turned out it was very useful when some liquid involving accident happened (The 3yo tried to fill her sister's lego pool with real water, no need to say it didn't go well).

Licensed Sets LEGO Missed the Ball On/Never Made
EvilBlackSheep replied to adotnamedstud's topic in LEGO Licensed
I think one of the biggest miss on the LOTR license was the total absence of the scene with Eowyn vs. the Nazgul. That would have made a great set and i saw a lot of people wanting one. -
Personally I have more of a dust issue when taking photos than the fingerprint ones but in case it can help you, here's my trick: I use a small retractable pen-brush that I use for cleaning my camera lense to clean whatever unwanted 'detail' shows up in the photo just before retaking another photo. Hope it helps or someone has better advice on this:)

This is awesome! I love the rooftop scenery you picked! (Also I can't wait for your game, but that's another thing ;) ) Great work!

Nice! Is that accoustic guitar a custom piece ?

LDD MOCs - Number 4 Privet Drive + Flying Ford Anglia
EvilBlackSheep replied to Murdoch17's topic in LEGO Licensed
You have a fair point, I have to admit i didn't think of that when i first commented. And like i said, even without the closet, your model is way better than the official privet drive house.
