  1. Speaking of hoses, whats the recommended source to pick up a fair amount? German ebay is flooded with 10-20m packs of "lego compatible" hoses, but I also remember being able to order hoses directly from lego 15-20 years ago, back when the shop at home catalog had parts packs. I've picked up two cheap 8455 backhoes for the cylinders, but need longer hoses for my crane than this included.
  2. Didn't notice the 2x2 round ones at all, either I missed em or they were put out this week. Grabbed plenty of hinges, 1x1 flat trans red/green, and wings tho.
  3. Is someone who lives in one of these cities willing to pick up 1-2 PAB cups the next time they are near the lego stores and can ship them domestically? Drive to cologne is several hours for me and thats not worth it just for PAB. :/ I'm looking for a specific selection of parts available at these stores (large plates, transparent cheese wedges, etc.) Send me a PM, we can figure something out to cover shipping + the cups + time, and I'll list the pieces I am looking for + ratios in more detail.
  4. Victor NY put out trans black 1x2s last weekend, they may also have had trans clear, do not remember.
  5. I got myself an FPGA board and half a dozen power functions extension cables for christmas, someday I will hopefully have time to splice the cables to a power source controlled by the FPGA and can use that as a cheapish mindstorms replacement which can be programmed with VHDL or a GUI frontend.
  6. probably just what they had back when they designed the sets. I'm gonna get both the heli and the 4x4, but heli is the set I am looking forward to more. Maybe I will find it really cheap and can get two....
  7. S.I replied to ACPin's post in a topic in LEGO Star Wars
Its going for 30 euros, and you got one free for spending 55 euros, its not what I would call cheap :P Got mini tie + TC + SSD today, when I ordered it late on the 4th the site said out of stock until end of may.
  8. I'll have to try it, I noticed both my bought as used had worn out springs. Have you noticed any issues with the tracking when the off roader is being pushed forward?
  9. I'm in germany, so always have to pay in euros :/ Already spent half a grand on ebay this year so I have been trying to hold back, and skipped bidding on those. but with auctions like these its very difficult :( On the plus side I have a second 8285 towtruck on its way, so I can build a giant mobile crane using two of these.
  10. Bumping for more offtopic, am I an idiot for not getting any of these? http://www.ebay.de/itm/330722482159 http://www.ebay.de/itm/270963628658 http://www.ebay.de/itm/200748730338 <- admittedly I never expected it to go for so little so I didn't pay attention until it was over. http://www.ebay.de/itm/251039625371 I'm trying to spend less money on technic parts and always see these good deals :(
  11. If it didn't require a facebook account, I would do it :P
  12. The text mentions them using a laser 3D prototyping system to create new parts overnight, thats probably where the unusual parts are from.
  13. I don't mind, if my account weren't completely empty I would get myself a second one right now because its hard to beat that price. We need a special thread for european technic deals!
  14. Its 98 euros on amazon.de, not sure what shipping to nl is but when I bought the unimog on amazon.fr shipping as under 10 euros so it would still be cheaper. I've seen it on german ebay for 95 w. free batteries and free shipping to DE, should be able to find a better deal than 110/120.
  15. Depends on the set, I picked up most of the missing miny models over the last months to put on my desk at work, didn't really care either way tho. However after I finally got 8466 I was fairly happy, and this week also got an almost complete 8285 which I thought looked nice, but after building it its alot more impressive than I expected and has such a huge amount of parts, I might even get a second one. Very happy with that set. OT question about the 8466: is it normal for the front wheels to want to go off in different directions when pushing the set around? I think there is alot of play in the steering or something, both models have this problem.
  16. I just finished dismantling them, two are dusty, one is really dusty and stinks, after I finish washing them I cant wait to build each model once. I wasn't planning on getting three but this way I should have two complete ones and a spare set of wheels. If you find someone willing to ship to the US you could try buying one here, they almost always sell for under 100 euros, most of them under 70. ok the prices in the US are pretty crazy. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lego-Technic-8285-Tow-Truck-Pneumatic-RARE-New-Sealed-/290675870667?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item43ada1cbcb http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Lego-Technic-Model-TOW-TRUCK-Set-8285-SHIPS-WORLDWIDE-New-/280836589847?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item41632a4917 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lego-Technic-8285-Tow-Truck-Pneumatic-RARE-New-MISB-/300544098513?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item45f9d300d1
  17. Haha ya, I ended up with 3 8466s last weekend after bidding between 50 and 60 euros on every set listed because I was gone for the weekend, and two or three others were also sold for under 60. US ebay shows them selling for over 200$ I'm not gonna complain tho because this way I can buy each set once when new, and if I like it or it has alot of good pieces get multiples of it for cheap.
  18. I still hate myself for not getting one or two when they were half priced, but back then I didn't have much income and got the bulldozer instead. It didn't look that technicy to me.
  19. Ya. The seal doesn't really mean that much imo. And a site that has a longer FAQ about their debt collection methods than everything else combined seems really sketchy. In addition their prices for the other technic sets aren't really great.
  20. Is that store trustworthy? I've never heard of it.
  21. ALl it needs is an outboard and a hull and you can enter the competition.
  22. Finally got my hands on a 8466, so now I'm prepared :D
  23. Ohh nice idea, I can combine that with my next batch of random parts. :)
  24. Thats ok, now I know I have to ask lego directly and am not just overlooking a download option somewhere.
