The interceptor is a net positive IMO. The old windscreen was better in the sense that it was specially designed to just be an interceptor windscreen, but it was also huge, this new one feels a bit smaller but i will need to see more angles. I also really hope the cockpit seating is actually inset instead of being a bed like it was in 2019. The angled pieces on either side of the windscreen are perfect, the old way they used to do those was trash. I was holding out hope for a new hairpiece but this is the version of anakin I wanted so net positive for me. Ahsoka looks great. This set will look great next to the coruscant guard gunship, those colors really work for me, this feels more like a standard issue republic interceptor than ahsoka's. I like the white and deep red combo.

I wasn't aware, thanks for bringing it up! I understand why this is disappointing, but for me these character models represent the most iconic era in clone wars, I remember when they changed over midway through season 3. I never liked Ahsoka's tube top look and while Anakin's early CW armor looked cool in live action I felt like his early CW model was a bit too "wooden maquette" style. Also I think lego would be dumb not to pick the version of Anakin that has crossover with ROTS. I understand there are slight color differences between this and ROTS but in Lego form I don't really care, it's close enough lol. I am 100% with you though that if they are going to be doing live-action versions of these characters like they did with Padme (they gave her a CW costume but did her face normal in the gunship, no CW eyes), then IMO they should update Anakin's hair to reflect Hayden's hair from the Ahsoka Show. I just worry about potential downsizing for fans of this ship, sometimes they will downsize a set and turn it into a glorified starfighter where it has space for figs in the cockpit and the interior gets turned into a storage space for weapons and a box.

I am not interested in a U-wing but I do love the ship, it's a rebel dropship. Dropships and Troop transports are my favorite type of set, I am very worried that they will shrink this build down to the point where the interior no longer holds figs. Looking at the old set I think I can see a few ways they could streamline the design but they really need to be as efficient as possible to preserve interior space. My fear is that they focus on nailing proportions but it basically becomes a glorified starfighter like Ahsoka's T-6 where the cockpit seats 1 or 2 and then the main hold gets shrunk down to a little storage cubby.

Yeah I would be happy with either version of anakin so long as they update it properly, I am also hoping for a shorter montral piece for young ahsoka, and arm printing, if they are charging us 45 they better go the extra mile haha, and I am so excited to see the new build for the interceptor, it's such a cool ship and lego desperately needed to update the design. "Milano-esque minifig compatible spaceship" this is what I wish the entire UCS line was, and I am very excited to see the build. I really hope they find a way to clean up the round base and put an actual interior in it. As a prequel kid I always prefered Jango to Boba.

One of the posts I saw on the leaks reddit listed him as "Clone Wars Anakin" it's tough because anakin had two looks in clone wars, early one and then the later one that's basically interchangeable with his ROTS look. They even had both versions in the Ahsoka flashback episode. Either one would be excellent to me, I just want him to have a new hairpiece to reflect the live action wavy hair instead of the cartoon polygon style.

Plo koon's fighter is way too many Tirangles on the market at one time haha I am excited about the updated news on Ahsoka's interceptor, that set keeps sounding better and better. Jango UCS is really interesting, I would love for a Freedom One set to finally have a decent interior, and since it has young boba the cockpit should be able to seat both of them, and the entry won't have stupid carbonated block so they can actually turn it into the boarding ramp and maybe have a decent interior with a place for Jango to put his jetpack and pistolas and helmet.

Thank you for clearing that up for me, in that case i think the rumor could be true, a couple minor print changes and the good will from fans for having more named characters, but for someone like me who just wants pilots it still works. Yeah Jang rips this set apart, and I am in full support of his opinion.

can someone explain to me what the named characters in the ARC set would mean in terms of helmets, wouldn't they all still just be normal clone pilot helmets? i looked the characters up and they don't seem to have custom phase 2 pilot helmets, is it unique markings? named or not, I just hope the set has 3 clone pilots.

it's a cool set, basically a star wars pirate ship, as always the value is abysmal unless you're a committed adult collector. Easy pass, but cool for OT fans. Now show me the spring wave, I cannot wait to see the updated jedi interceptor and arc-170 builds, those are going to be really really fun to see considering the interceptor has remained the same core build since it first released. Then for the arc-170 they have tried some different things with x-wings in the last few years so i am curious how they will handle the s-foil mechanisms on this new one.

My guess is that we will see latter half clone wars anakin and ahsoka, and IMO he needs a new hairpiece, depicting his curly hair from Ahsoka show. I guess they could keep the old hair if they did early CW anakin, but It makes more sense to go with the look that would satisfy the desire for ROTS coverage next year and the desire to cover the flashback episode of Ahsoka. I am very excited about the rumored overhaul on the eta build, new cockpit mold would be a dream come true. If they can improve the cockpit and get the s-foils flush to the wings it would be perfect. It's one of my favorite star-fighters but the lego version has yet to really achieve the silhouette and proportions. Agree about the snowspeeder--It's so wild to me that the UCS Hoth waves came and went without a new Snowspeeder model. I can't believe lego missed that window.

Glad to hear we have a reliable source on this, so there is a chance there are more figures besides anakin? Though honestly he's the only one I really needed to be in this set to sell me on it. Also a new cockpit design is the best news I could get for this set. The jedi interceptor has needed an overhaul for years, the core design has never been altered. Also the colors on ahsoka's interceptor are deep red and white, which matches perfectly with other republic ships: coruscant gunship, grogu escape speeder, and the new ARC-170, if you want a fleet of standard-issue republic vehicles now is the time to collect, I personally dislike a hodgepodge of color variants. I couldn't disagree with this more. In universe Ahsoka is well below Anakin's height and in minifigure form with the custom headtail piece she winds up being taller than him. Mid-legs fixes that and fits with the intent of the CW version of the character being a teenager. In my opinion this set is being made as a direct response to perceived demand for both characters after episode 5 of Ahsoka and in that episode especially it was clear that CW era ahsoka was much shorter than anakin. It will also look much better to differentiate between young ahsoka and older ahsoka we have in T-6 and Peridia. We also just got a bunch of mid-legs in the skeleton crew set and I think the height looks perfect for her.

starting to see it reported on instagram that ahsoka's interceptor comes with Ahsoka Anakin and R7. If true I need ahsoka to have harry potter short legs and arm printing, and Anakin needs a new hairpiece, but his typical ROTS outfit would be fine. The only way he would need arm printing is if it was his CW appearance but I doubt it.

not this topic again, talking in circles over the maturity and violence level of an IP Lego has been doing for decades is the deadest horse to keep beating, the bones of said horse have been ground to dust. ROTS proved decades ago that if something will sell the maturity level isn't an issue it's the marketability. Lego doesn't do real world violence but they do fantasy sci-fi violence all day long if it sells. Dune/Avatar/LOTR/Harry Potter...insert 500 other examples over the years We get anakin burned alive minifigures every couple of years, none of these properties are actually being held back because a soccer mom is gasping somewhere at the levels of violence, it's all about whether or not enough folks will buy the set, that's literally the only thing they care about. If the market is big enough they will make a set. Acolyte wasn't too dark its just mid imo, but my opinion has no bearing on whether or not enough Lego customers like it enough to buy sets of it, if there is real money to be made there will be sets, same goes for outlaws, and Jedi Survivor and anything else. Lego released a BD minifigure and a buildable figure, and they just did Cal this year, they are clearly just waiting until they know a set will sell huge so they can price it at a premium and sell to the gamer market for big bucks. If outlaws ships 14million copies I am sure we will see a set from that as well.

This is where we will see focus shift in a year IMO. It feels like behind the scenes lego was told to "go play outside for a bit" which is why they did the meme wave instead of using slots for new show sets in the way they used to for D+. In general it feels like the D+ live action show craze may be coming to an end, nothing new is filming and all focus seems to be on getting a movie in theaters. Next year will be some more filler stuff and ROTS connected sets and then I think we will be gearing up for a big movie wave.

I kinda think having a discussion on liking vs not liking a show including perceived internet controversy and moral values gets way too subjective for a consumer product. The only thing that matters is $$: viewership numbers, engagement, and sales. If we don't see sets for a show then it probably didn't perform well enough. Some stuff is a calculated risk up front like the onyx cinder, and it makes sense to take a risk on that show over say the acolyte considering the target audiences. Black series seems to be marketed at older consumers imo and it went all in on the Acolyte. Depending on those toy sales we may see acolyte sets in the future. I am sure folks get paid to assess how much crossover exists between hasbro and lego customers. I don't think the onyx cinder is going to sell well. I don't think the show will be big enough for kids to want it. I don't really expect more show sets outside of the mando era since that's the only era confirmed to going back to theaters. Everything else is up in the air, but mando is actually shooting ( I think ) so gears are really turning. I also think lego is gauging the value of the Jedi Survivor series, it all comes down to how many players will drop 170 on a mantis set. Those games have sold well and the third one has a lot of potential to grow the success. I think Lego has time to wait for that series hype to peak with the release of the third game. I jumped in on the second game and it seems like a quality series, ratings are okay but the sales jumped from first to second game. I definitely won't buy the new SD for that Cal figure, but I would buy a quality mantis set day 1, provided it doesn't get the T-6 treatment.
