I'm hoping to build SNOT roads for my city, but I'm stumped on how to implement a few things. I'm hoping someone here will have some good ideas I'd like to make a thin lane divider, the width of a panel. How can I build this in a structurally stable way? How can I incorporate flush street level grilles (2412b)? Thanks very much for the help. I'd also be interested in hearing about how others use SNOT roads in their layouts, and any tips they have for someone new to it.
  2. I just built the Mercedes Arocs (set 42043) and it seems that the crane drops hard on the table or truck bed when I set the switches to lower it. Is this the expected behavior, or did I do something wrong in my assembly? If it is the expected behavior, are there any mods with instructions on how to remedy it? I'm wondering if swapping out the lift pneumatics for linear actuators might be viable? Also, if there are any other mods with instructions for the set I'd be very interested in those as well. Thanks so much for the help
  3. Anyone know which stores in US or CAN still offer by the box?
  4. Stash2Sixx, are you still around? Any word on this?
  5. I don't really have much electronics experience :( so I don't really follow what you are proposing. But more outputs with just one microcontroller would be awesome. :) are you saying like maybe an add on piece that would expand the outputs, or control the lifelites, or make sound? That could work. I can program however, so I'm happy to help with that in any way I can. I wouldn't worry about iOS too much, in my experience most makers use android.
  6. This is really awesome. I love how it's all open source. Some thoughts on the form factor... What about something that connects directly to the battery box, saving you the need to run the pf wires. And it could then be bigger and thus allow for more outputs. If enough extra space, maybe even a speaker could be included. Also consider adding outputs for led lighting, a 2x2 stud space should be able to easily hold 8 instead of the 2 you get with PF. See lifelites so an example.
