Bionicle 2015 Discussion
If anyone's interested, a guy who interned at LEGO a little while back (set designer for Tarix, actually) was given a "Bionicle Style Guide" as a parting gift, and recently he decided to show it to everyone. Lots of really cool stuff, including original Photoshop files for the logos, character art, etc. This is legit stuff, date last modified being March/April 2003 and everything. I can't get most of it to open on my Mac, but... http://www.bzpower.com/board/topic/14948-bionicle-style-guide/page-4

Y'know, the Toa Mata had no Technic to speak of save for the gearbox, and the '15 gearbox is far more complex than '01's ever was. Also, we had /one-piece/ torsos back then. I think what the '15 line is missing is more pistons and stuff in the design, is all. The smoother features are what makes me associate it with Hero Factory, not necessarily the designs themselves. I still don't understand the blue eyes on Tahu though, they stick out in a weird way. o.o

Hmm, true. The 2006-2008 story felt /seriously/ rushed, while seeming to drag out for way too long at the same time, if that makes any sense. I really loved how 2009 felt like a return to Bionicle's roots. I think that there was finally an exploration of the location's culture that we hadn't truly gotten since the Metru era that really brought it to life. And yep, got it during the B.R.I.C.K. thing when I guessed LEGO Universe's tagline. :D I was never able to play it though, didn't have a good enough computer at the time. Shame it went out so quickly. The Creation Lab actually got taken down recently.
