Apparently there is going to be some 2023 news released by Promobricks this Friday or something. I don't know where they will take the series, but they definitely need to bring back the Oni IMO, perhaps as more of an ongoing "arc" villain. I just want more sinister Oni minifigures haha, and the battle pack is both expensive and elusive to get.

These are obviously VERY preliminary and the previous weeks Zane Jet is the more modern or final product (albeit blurry). Nice colouration used for the enemies, black, purple and pink. I suspect these are the images Promobricks saw as they still have the (presumably) placeholder Epic Battle moulds instead of the new scythe.

Will the rest of the sets leak soon? I'm keen to see the other villains. EDIT: Is that crystal sword the same piece as his scythe? Looks like the Scythe of Quakes. EDIT 2: Also notice the four-headed golden dragon teased next to the Lloyd image. Looks like the dragon will be having unique-coloured upper-jaw/head pieces instead of just gold, which is a nice contrast.

Tommy Andreasen commented on the next season: "the seas are restless" So Nya is restless over something...I think we're heading back to the dark island. You know, that giant landmass opposite Ninjago... * Crystal King is probably new form of Overlord, said to resemble him somewhat * pink, purple black and gold colour scheme of le evil on all the enemies *Crystal warriors are the new Stone Warriors *Golden power returning, only ever used to fight the Overlord I honestly can't see it being anything OTHER than this scenario, it just fits so perfectly. Which brings into mind: is this supposed to be a cross between DotD and Final Battle waves? Because the Overlord is definitely one of the "final boss" villains of Ninjago other than maybe the Oni.

My theory for this next wave/season is that the whole Crystal King/ Crystallized enemies is a return of the Overlord in a new form. The evidence is heavily in favour: 1) Crystal King build is described as having armour similar to the Overlord's, is also described as purple, black and gold in colouration which are his colours more or less 2) Golden power, golden ninjas are back, and the only time this happens from what I remember is when they fight the Overlord 3) The crystals themselves are pink in colouration, a "corruption" colour associated with the colour schemes of the Overlord and his elemental powers. Black, purple and pink are used on the returning enemies, making me think that these "dark corruption crystals" are empowering the villains in service of the Overlord (I don't think they will be crystal "imitations" as most of these returning villains are alive) 4) Vengestone buyer is Pythor, vengestone is maybe used for some darker purpose or for creating/formulating something sinister, probably to do with these crystals.
