  1. I think we have just to wait a till summer (hopefully even earlier) and then we'll start to get info and rumors about 2016 sets I can't wait to see if we are really about to get a new Castle them next year
  2. I agree. The most recent Castle theme was very undertone. I have the old pirate sets too and those have been more lucky than Castle and Space ones I have few still intact (including a ship) and the other have been dismantled but I should have all the pieces I look forward your reviews. Thank you for your wishes. I truly hope I'll find those sets one day
  3. Taking a little break from the anti-Jar Jar images ( I'll resume the anti- Jar Jar activities very soon ) I made a little Clone Wars inspired one. ARC-Trooper vs AAT This time we have a professional dealing with the AAT not like in Episode I lol The AAT is set 75080
  4. Since the "junior" Spiderman hideout has been mentioned: Do you think those junior sets are worth their price just for the Minifigures or do you suggest to use than money to buy something else? The build itself is, of course, very limited so the only value would be the Minifigures ( Perhaps also few parts to be "re-used" for some project). Thanks for the advice
  5. I'm actually an "all Lego eras" fan lol I love both the classic and the new ones. Every of them has something to offer in my opinion. I admire the progress achieved in the last years but I still appreciate the "old memories" of the "vintage era" I truly hope I'll find them. I had both the old Castle and the old Space themes. It appears some of them would have a great collection value. As for the invest vs build part, I'm like you. I can't simply keep a set sealed, unless I have more than one. But even in that case I often build the two of them. I have some promotional set still sealed only because they wouldn't add anything to my collection, so I'm keeping them sealed. Anyway enjoy your newly acquired sets and happy building
  6. They are indeed interesting sets. I had most of those sets ( I was born in 1985 so they were among the toys I grew up with) Sadly I can't find them. I know they should be around, in some box but I can't find them. All I have managed to recover from that era are 11 Castle Minifigures. One day I'll find those sets because I know they are somewhere Btw do you plan to build them or collect them in sealed conditions? Personally when I get a Lego I always want to build it. I wouldn't be a good "Lego investor" I guess
  7. Great photo indeed Great lighting, perspective, angle: well done
  8. They are truly old sets, 1980s; if I'm not mistaken. How much did you pay for them? Anyway happy building (or collecting, if you plan to keep them sealed) with your new acquisitions
  9. I bought it from Lego and I didn't remember which other store has the exclusive. Thanks for reminding me It is indeed a very interesting set, very different from the "mainstream Batman-filled" ones. The only downside is Supergirl's hairpiece but it's a wonderful set
  10. I agree and I have to say it was a very smart move from Lego. Brainiac may be unknown to the average younger Lego fans but he is going to have a central role in the DC Multiverse. They put him in a sort of "exclusive set" ( If I'm not mistaken it's not available to any retailer) so they don't take the risk to have many sets going unsold in the "mass market" but it is very appealing to collectors Oh don't forget that set also come with Supergirl (too bad about her hairpiece) and Martian Manhunter: I think it's a must have for Lego DC comics fans
  11. Indeed I know sometimes it's hard to be a collector because marketing reasons will always prevail. Especially when it comes to toys. Anyway who knows, maybe one day we'll get Raven. I'm sure not a lot of persons thought we could have got Brainiac Minifigure. Of course he's a central point of the recent "Convergence" but I guess he is not as popular to younger Lego fans like Batman is. So I guess we can still hope. After all it can't hurt us
  12. I never said it was not smart, marketing wise Like you you said they want to focus on the main characters. Yet, I wonder why they focus more on Batman than Superman. I actually said "Is anyone surprised etc". Beside I think even someone at Lego is "obsessed" with Batman EDIT: Typo corrected
  13. I know, even though perhaps Superman is as popular, if not even more, and the focus of every Major event in the DC universe. I was talking from the collector point of view: we are truly getting an army of him However, like I said, he is a connection between the Lego DC and the Lego movie universes so it makes more sense to put him in the started than placing him in nearly every single DC set released
  14. Perhaps he prefers Alien Soldiers over Drones or perhaps he really likes the first Avengers movie, perhaps he loves the Minifigures. I don't see anything "strange" He could also use them for non-Marvel projects and just use them as "alien troopers". I usually don't focus on older sets because I find extremely difficult to get them at reasonable prices but in the end every set and Minifigure can be useful
  15. Looking at Dimensions' starter box one of my first thoughts was : Is anyone surprised the DC Minifigure they put is... Batman? Again I know Batman Minifigure is a connection between Lego DC Comics and Lego Movie but we are truly going to assemble a "Batman Clone Army" with all the Minifigures of him we get EDIT: Typo corrected.
  16. I'm having a very busy days so I hadn't the chance to check all the info on Dimension. If I'm not mistaken, please correct me if I'm wrong, we connect the brick-built portal to our console and when we put the Minifigure or micro vehicle through it, they "appear" in-game. Am I correct? Well I think I'll get the packs anyway for the Minfigures, I know I won't resist and I'll collect them They are not cheap but we also get a "micro scale" model so I guess it's not that bad
  17. I noticed the prices of the "Exclusives/ Direct to consumer" sets are not bad in Europe but the "mass market" sets have indeed much higher prices
  18. All things considered it wouldn't be a bad idea to get to set. The fortress and the tank may not be superb builds but I think they may be worth the price difference. In the worst case, if you really can't stand them, you get some bricks for MOCs
  19. I checked mine and it is white. However in certain point I can see the "red beneath". It's barely noticed. Since it appears the white is painted over the red I guess they just "blended" the two colors together when they assembled yours. You can contact Lego costumer service and ask them to send you another shield
  20. I noticed the reference However "Islander Clones" sounded cool Every time I make some cultural reference in photos/projects etc half of the viewers didn't notice it and a good part of the rest consider it too "geeky" etc. It's a bit disheartening sometimes lol. Anyway keep up the great work with the "anti-Jar Jar League"
  21. It's also "Warhammer 40K" stuff Anyway back on the Ultimate Ultron Minifigure: it is indeed very likely Lego didn't get a lot of details and made the sets based on the "concepts" they got
  22. Indeed. I just built it today: it's not bad and the Minifigures are nice but it's indeed very overpriced. Let's hope those two will have more reasonable prices I know even in UK Lego prices get much higher than USA. I always wondered about the cause. Lego is located in Europe, of course the sets are manufactured in various part of the world, but the prices increase here on the "other side of the pond" always puzzles me
  23. Wonderful work The roof is truly impressive and the colors are very eye-catching: perfect "Fantasy-style". Well done
  24. Breathtaking MOC! It's truly epic: a masterpiece Congratulations for the outstanding work
  25. Disney strikes back lol Thanks for the info
