LEGO Star Wars 2016 Pictures and Rumors
DarkLordSauron, Oh, I get it. I run a forum for 1:18 military toys. Lego has been great in the past couple years and now Mega is filling the adult brick building and adult military gap for me. Takara is the only toy company I know that actually makes toys for 80's adults and they carry the price tag to match. Gotta love the Japanese for doing what other's say can't be done. :)

Most of that $ was on 3 UCS sets straight from the Lego Store and the rest was scooping up the entire first wave of Ep VII due to temporary insanity. I'd be perfectly satisfied if they could just put out 1 highly engineered set a year geared towards display. 2017 has me worried we will not see another set of Slave I quality until I've already wandered off completely. Just seems like they ignored us 30-40-50yr olds at the exact time their only real competitor is embracing us. I just hope that 34" starship lights a fire under Lego's bottoms to pull something cool off the shelf for May 2017. I mean seriously, go watch Jang's video on that beast.- LEGO Star Wars 2016 Pictures and Rumors
In 2015 I spent a solid $1000 on Lego SW. In 2016 I've spent $30 and that was out of boredom really to compliment my Sandcrawler with the Droid Escape set. WTH happened? I guess Lego just doesn't want my money anymore. Thankfully in 2016, a certain competitor cleaned up their QC issues and focused their designs on adult static display models all while keeping their prices at sane levels, so they have gotten all of my brick money. I mean, heck, they got me to buy a 34" long starship from a 50yr old series I never purposefully watched and I squeal a bit inside every time I walk by it. You might want to put some focus back on us 40yr olds with cash to blow Lego unless our money is not good enough for you. A good start would be to get rid of stickers on $200+ sets.- Megablocks (sorry) Star Trek The Original Series!
After seeing Jang's review there is no way I'm building this beast. Those printed pieces alone seem to take this model from challenging to complete frustration seeing how numbered bags are not allowed. The LCAC took me 3 evenings to complete after the parts were sorted by category, but there is no way I have the patience to actually sort by each individual type and then match it to the parts list to see if I'm missing anything from that sea of grey. The missing bag explains why it took so long for his review to be posted from the unboxing video. I must say I have built 30 or so MB COD and Halo kits over the past year and just this weekend while building the Mantis (old) and then the Apache (brand new), I found my first missing or malformed parts. The Mantis has a malformed cheese slope and the Apache had a malformed 1x2 plate to get studs on the side. Thankfully the Apache was still buildable by using an extra 1x1 part and and you do not notice the missing part on the Mantis. This experience makes me realize how frustrating it would be to have to wait for a part in the mail and why so many are spiteful of MB. I have had one Lego kit missing a part in the past 2yrs of building.- 68 replies

Funny. I was just logging in to ask for honest opinions about MB COD sets from people that love (and own) as many UCS sets as I do. Anyways, the brick quality, unique small pieces and design quality of MB COD sets these past 2 rounds have blown by Lego and are not looking back. The complexity of even $50 sets has advanced to where most children would simply get frustrated and walk away, but is ridiculously satisfying for adults. They have started building using 90% tiny parts and the detail and stability is incredible as a result. Lego UCS has really gone backwards since the Helicarrier (Tie, Hoth) to the point I can no longer justify the Ep 7 tax. This makes me sad. Thankfully MB has jumped into the adult market with both feet discarding stickers completely and keeping the ppb under the $.10 mark. Usually well under, especially since Amazon always has sales. If you have not built a MB set in the last year and you enjoy military models or Halo, I highly suggest you pick up a midrange set to see the difference for yourselves. The Harrier can be found for under $30 these days. Do you guys think Lego will get back to selling beautiful and complex sets like Slave I and the Helicarrier or do you think we are stuck with playsets for the foreseeable future?- 68 replies

I fall into the new collector category with the AT-AT being my first set 2 summers ago. All I can say about this Echo base is meh... The Ewok village seems far more interesting and substantial. I would have much rather gotten smaller sets to pick and choose how to build a base since they decided to go modular.- LEGO Star Wars 2016 Pictures and Rumors
I don't get Lego's set list for this summer. We usually have 2-3 $100 sets sitting on the shelves from different waves at any one time and now practically all the sets are $100 and above? What the heck are kids suppose to do? This also eliminates all of those sets I buy out of shear boredom because I need something to occupy my evening. It just doesn't make sense.- LEGO Star Wars 2016 Pictures and Rumors
Sounds like I need to go buy the Resistance Transport at Target and return it to the Lego store to get my $10 back. I do have to admit it is worth $70 having just finished building it (heavy and much larger than it looks in pics), but $10 is still $10. That is an extra FO battle pack.- LEGO Star Wars 2016 Pictures and Rumors

If you built it white, then you would lose all detail unless you put a wash on it and I doubt any of us want to coat our legos in dirty paintbrush alcohol. White Falcons do not look right. Hasbro's: Hasbro's after I gave it a wash: Lego has to use grey and I found the use of tan bricks very refreshing. It captures the screen model perfectly. The AT-AT is even a better example: It takes a lot of wash to make it right.- The Millennium Falcon colour thread (White, Grey or Blue!)

But there are no rubberbands and therefore this must be photoshopped. If the wings could work without rubberbands, the Lego would have done it. :p On a serious note I noticed the black intake parts and the landing gear change between modes, so I wonder if the wings actually do work without adding parts to brace them. Rubberbands are an eyesore.- LEGO Star Wars 2015 Pictures and Rumors

I picked one up from Target last night and built it. Initially there was a half stud gap on the left side (pilot's view), but adjusting the two clip blocks to make sure they were even immediately fixed it. Makes me wonder if this is the issue a lot of people are having.- LEGO Star Wars 2016 Pictures and Rumors
