  1. you planning on making instructions for this model? Looks pretty cool
  2. This is unreal. Probably one of my favorite MOCs and Lego supercars of all time. Exquisite bodywork, instantly recognizable as an F40.
  3. It better not be another crane truck though. A tipper for a change would be awesome.
  4. Off topic but once I acquire enough parts my ultimate goal is to build a 1:10 E92 M3. I love bimmers ^
  5. $250 is a lot for an F1 car, even for a 1:8. Weren't the Williams F1, 248F1 and the SC around $140? I would gladly pay $250 for a 1:8 Laferrari or a 918 though...
  6. I think we're all blowing this way out of proportion. Of all the technic sets that have ever been released only a handful have had 4WD drivetrain. And they weren't all bunched up together in one era either. I think 4WD and gearboxes have always been novelty features even in large scale technic models. In fact IFS and IRS used to be one of these features as well but we're seeing it way more frequently now.
  7. At least they evoke emotion. The current ones are so bland. Agreed! Some realistic truck wheels and tires would be awesome as well.
  8. IMO the current technic 56mm D.* 34mm wheels are ugly and boring. The 70mm.*28mm futuristic wheels ( with fatter tires) would look much better on flagship supercars. Not my MOC ( it's from brickshelf user Njarzzz) but I think it looks much better than the TLC Enzo. Although ideally he should've used axle-3 with stud instead of the axle-6 with stop to connect the wheels.
  9. I seriously think that we'll be getting a 1:10th scale LaFerrari or a 918 sometime in the future, à la 8653. What I'd really like to see is a 1:8th scale model of either one of those cars but unfortunately that'll never happen. I'm really hoping these Mercedes Rumors turn out to be an Actros dump truck. I'm sick of crane trucks.
  10. I don't have either one of these sets but considering that these have been on my wish list forever I think it's an accurate representation of what I'd keep. 8421/42009 8461 - chose this over the silver champion because of the smooth panels, Michelin tires and color scheme. 8258 8455 8466
  11. Thanks for the reassurance guys, I'm mostly interested in the build-experience, realism and the ability to create interesting MOCs rather than playability. That's why I was absolutely dead set on the 42009 when I saw that it was the biggest technic model ever made!
  12. Seriously disappointed in the Le Mans racer. I was expecting at least a gearbox and some (semi)-realistic suspension. Instead we got the same cr#p again, just this time around in an ugly green suit.
  13. I just ordered my first big Technic set ever, the 42009. Amazon is selling it for $190 so I thought I'd jump on the deal but there seems to be some negativity around here regarding the 42009. Am I making a mistake? I could still return the order. Why do people not like it as much as they liked the original Mobile crane 8421? Back when I was a kid that was my dream Lego set, I would look at pictures of it for hours upon hours...
