  1. Nice one. Maybe it is an idea to put two batt boxes on it that rotate also. One for the power and one as a contra weight to keep it all in balance.. you can put marbles in one to create the same weight as the box who provides the power to the pf..
  2. I think we can say that we can not build in every scale. This because there are just no wheels for every scale.. but some builds are so good, that to me it is a minor issue. The bigger the model, the more detail you can put in to it. I like the fact that there are a lot of builders out there that use skills to create difficult builds. Everybody has his own opinion, that makes them unique as human and builders.
  3. When are you going to post WIP of actual build? I am looking forward to see them. LDD looks nice but i prefer the real build of it. I keep following this topic, i am sure that real build of the ant would be amazing.!!
  4. Did i understand it correct that you can post 3 pictures, that are made out of 4 pictures? In the size witch are stated in the rules of the contest?
  5. Parts are in for a few days now, but didend have the time to go on with my build. Try to get some progress on saterday. I have some ideas, so i give those a try on saterday, and post some new pics then.
  6. I love your airplane build. Aspecially because it is build out of technic. 2 fortieth anniversary liftarms 1 on eatch side would look nice on your airplane.
  7. Or a few subforums Scale modeling with mostly technic Scale modeling mini builds Scale modeling of non vehicle builds..
  8. @TechnicSummse the rules are the rules. But @Milan i think @thekitchenscientist has open the door for a contest in the future. To build a crazy build out of official lego sets. ( parts of the sets like thekichensientist build it ) into whatever the staff can come up with. Or maybe an Falcon. It would be a challange..
  9. Looking forward to bigger pictures..
  10. Nice build, it is fun to see what all the people come up with. I will follow this one..
  11. Totaly correct..!! And those big builds can be driven only by the builder. Exception, yes young kids who are very sick, can drive them. I would even drive to a hospital to realize that for them..
  12. Hmmm yes, your the one who started it.. and they are all 3 still here. I dont have to say how many parts it took because you know that allready, but it whas wurth it. My kids, no they are allready adults. And friends yes they can look at them, but not touch them..
  13. Looking forward to your build. I think i this contest we will see a lot of weird stuff. And i am looking forward to that also..
  14. I think builds with normal bricks will be more realistic. A car, truck, boat ect. dont have holes in them in real life. And a truck like the trucks from @dikkie klijn or @2LegoOrNot2Lego... are more realistic. If you want the technic models to be realistic, the you should build it in the way the horsetruck from @Edwin Korstanje is build. Dont get me wrong i like the technic models a lot ( have a few build from @Lucio Switch) but creator build is something else then a scale model. And maybe not every build is 100% as it should be ( my vw t1 is an example of that ) but that is the way to learn. You have an idea, build it, post it and get comments on it. The little models are nice also, but like allready sayd here in is this topic, a scale model is a little version of the real thing. With all working components, and a realistic look to the real thing.. Thats why i would like to see those little builds ( for now and maybe in the future in its own forum ) sub forum.
  15. I like the idea and concept. But i would ask @Jim or @Milan if it is allowed. The 2 sets you used are known lego sets. And the rules say that you model can not be known on any media. Maybe a grey aria.. But again very nice idea..
  16. I think the name scale model refers to building a model of a car, boot, truck, house ect. Of the real thing. That being sayd, it is trying to get as close as possible to the real thing. Cars for example with doors witch can open, a lot of details ect. If you have a little build, that is allmost impossible. So minimum size would be recommended. A maximum size could be as big as you want it to be. This because the bigger it gets, the more details you can bring in to it. An example is are the trains from @Bricksonwheels. Or the ships from @Edwin Korstanje. Maybe it is an option to create a mine scale modeling subforum. And if the staff see that is going to be to big to be a subforum, then a normal forum is an option. But i think that scale modeling shouldend be limited to cars alone. Say you build a beautyfull moc of lets say the Eiffel Tower on scale with all the details, then that can also be qualifeid as a scale model...
  17. Rain so yeh. But had to make some overtime at work, so maybe tomorrow...
  18. Dont know how the build will look when you post it in the Wacky topic, but the Wacky part is allready there. Like it..
  19. Maybe a sub-topic @Jim that you can put directly under this one.
  20. Its an idea.. And the weather, it is raining overhere. Maybe tonight i will build i few hours. First work untill about 16:15.
  21. A little beauty and in bleu. I love that color.
  22. @Jim the first wip are allready in my [TC12] Caterwheelerpillar topic so you can see them there, but its to hot at this moment to work on it. So when the weather get a bit cooler, i will go on. Then i will also post some new wip..
  23. I know that feeling, but sometimes you just have to deal with it.
