I don't have a Kmart locally (Southern Oregon), but Yesterday I was at my local Wal-Mart and was very excited to see that all the Pirates of the Caribbean Lego sets were on pretty heavy discount!!! I ended up buying 4195 Queen Anne's Revenge for $79.99 and 4184 Black Pearl for $69.99. It made for a wonderful Memorial day surprise! ~Wowplayer

I'm so excited!!! After 3 years of waiting, I finally got my hands on a New Sealed in box copy of the Lego set 8039: Venator Class-Republic Attack Cruiser!! I purchased it on EBay for $139, which is a heck of a deal considering that it cost over $200 on amazon market place (USA).

I for one really hope that they continue this theme. This theme has so much potential. I'm still trying to get my hands on the QAR and Pearl.I'm hoping to get them for my Birthday and for Christmas, later this year. However, I was reading over at All About Bricks that there hasn't been any information or rumors about the theme continuing next year. I know that it is only August, and rumors of next years sets are just barely beginning to surface, so lets hope that we hear something positive soon.

This is Awesome news!!! I can't wait to get a list of the upcoming sets (an pictures of course). I have almost every set in the batman theme, and I love them all. I can't wait

At the Toy Fair in New York earlier this year, it was mentioned that the Black Pearl would retail for $99.99 in the US

Yay! Finally a picture of the Black Pearl! I'm slightly disappointed, but not enough to stop me from picking it up. But when you compare it to the movies, its not that far off. The Black Pearl in the movies is pretty meh as well. As far as the figs go, I think they could have provided a better selection. We will probably get duplicate or slightly altered figures on the Flying Dutchmen when Lego decides to produce it.

Thanks for pointing that out. But we might be getting more than just the Pearl later this year. Both Harry Potter and Star Wars have been released in two waves during the same year. It is possible that the Pearl wont be the only PotC set we see in November. Then again, maybe we will only get the Pearl in November.

Oh no, I guess a 2nd wave was inevitable. I'm very excited to hear about more sets possibly coming out later this year, and I'm sure I'll be adding some of them to my wishlist. But I still haven't had a chance to buy any of the current available sets. I'm having a hard time figuring out how to afford this first release. And I want some of the Alien Conquest sets, and some of the Kingdom sets too...I'm in so much trouble...

Great review! Still not sure if I'll be getting this one or not. Does anyone else think that it's weird that the QAR has stickers, but the London Escape has printed pieces?? I'm curious if maybe the QAR will come with printed pieces in a later printing, and maybe Lego just wasn't able to get it done in time for release.

Thank you TheBrickster! That was a wonderful review. I agree with most of your Likes and Dislikes. One that I would add is that the ship only comes with three cannons. It should have come with four, and they should have wheels. I'm not a fan of stickers either, and about 99.9% of the time I don't use them. But like you mentioned for this one, the stickers on the windows might be necessary. I can't wait before I get my hands on this ship. It is a beautiful ship, and quite possibly my favorite Lego ship released to date. I really want to see it next to my other ships: 10040 Black Seas Barracuda, 6290 Red Beard Runner, 6243 Brickbeard Bounty, 6291 Armada Flagship and 10220 Imperial Flagship.

Okay, I'm starting to freak out ! Every picture that I've seen of the QAR indicates that the ship only comes with three shooting cannons. Even though there are slots for four cannons. Can anyone confirm if the QAR has three or four cannons included? I know that I could just purchase an extra cannon from bricklink or ebay if I wanted, but I'm a little obsessive compulsive (purist) about that sort of thing Another note about the QAR that bothers me, is the six cannon flaps (sorry don't know the official term) on each side of the ship, when only four of them are functional. Anyone else feel the same way?

I hope we don't have to wait to long before we see what the Black Pearl will look like. But I kind of doubt it will look as nice as the Queen Anne's Revenge. Especially when it's 300 pieces smaller. I know that the Black Pearl is the focus point as far as ships go in the POTC franchise. But if you compare the details of the two ships used in the films, I think you'll agree with me that the Black Pearl is pretty ordinary looking in comparison to the Queen Anne Revenge.
