  1. I am really interested in this and would like to back this project. But before that, I do have a few questions: 1. Would it be possible to build a version that user can detach the top part and connect to the battery using a lego PF cable? That would make the product much more flexible. 2. Can we build custom profiles like sBrick?
  2. Hello all, I am from Toronto, Canada. I have been calling my local Lego store every Wed since last month because Wednesday is the day that new shipments arrive. Everytime I called, I was told either it was sold out or no stock will be coming in today or next Wed. So I decided to take a day off and go to the store today to try my luck. I arrived just before 11am and guess what, a box of Porsche was sitting right in front of the cashier desk. I walked to the cashier and began our conversation: Me: "Is it the new Porsche..." Cashier: "Yes, it is." Me: "Can I have it? (I am afraid that it is just an empty box or pre-order waiting to be picked up)" Cashier: "Of course you can. In fact, it is the last one we got." I immediately pulled out my wallet and finished the transaction, walked out of the store with a huge grin on my face. During my conversation I had with the cashier, I told her that I cannot order online. She then told me that due to the size and weight of the box, Lego decided not to make it available online until they come up with a better shipping method that can keep the box in pristine condition for collectors. And the only way to buy it is to buy it through a physcial store. The one that I got has couple minor scratches on the side of the box but I am okay with it. Not sure if the situation applies to other countries, but it may explain why the delay in shipment for online orders.
  3. Yes, please do make instructions. MOC with such complex design deserves its own instructions
  4. Thanks for sharing. This platform looks promising! I will try to see if I can fit an automatic gear box like this http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=38999 in the frame to save my self some motors. Just ordered some parts, can't build it til next week
  5. I also purchased the building instruction. It is an awsome truck! Still waiting for my parts to arrive but that doesn't stop me from going through the instruction over and over again and appreciate the design and attentive to detail! Just wondering if I can fit a technic figure inside the cab?
  6. Still building the kit, but also did some research on the actual vehicle. Assuming the scale is 1:16, Cab According to http://tools.mercede...Atego-Arocs.pdf, Arocs S-cab and M-cab has the width of 2300mm Using Sariel's conversion tool to convert it with 1:16 scale, the cab width is 17.969 studs The Lego model width is 17 studs, which is fairly accurate [*]Tires According to http://www.moderntir...-in-europe.aspx, Actros trucks use 385/55 R 22.5 tires Tire diameter is 39.17 inches based on https://www.mcgrefer...522.5?prefs=128 Convert the tire diameter to 1:16 scale is approximately 62.2mm, which is about the same size as the tires included in the kit However, the tire above may or may not be off-road tires, I cannot tell by looking at the picture From another source http://www.autoarabi...buts on new ..., the tire used by Acros should be 385/65 R 22.5 According to https://www.mcgrefer...einfo/3856522.5, the overall diameter is 1072mm, which is 67mm in 1:16 scale, 5mm bigger than the kit's 62mm tires A lot of people talk about the huge gap between the cab and tires, thinking that the gap is too big. I found a few links and confirmed that such huge gap does occur in the actual vehicle. Actros crane : http://autoline.info...0742075000.html. Arocs crane: http://www.fassi.com...45az-crane.html, note that the front grill only has 3 rows Arocs military truck: http://www.armyrecog...duty_truck.html Based on cab and tire sizes, I would say Lego did a pretty good job to keep the model within the scale of 1:16. The gap between tires and the driving cab does actually exist on the actual vehicle. Overall I would say the kit is a pretty accurate representation of the actual vehicle. Just my 2 cents, and I am sorry if my post disturbs/confuses anyone as I am a scale freak and I insist that everything has to be in scale :P.
  7. Great news from Toronto! Bumped into one at lego store yesterday and bought it right away. Shopkeeper told me they just received it yesterday, limited to 1 per family and 1 per lego VIP.
  8. Another tire that may work with 32019, http://www.gardentrucking.com/details.tpl?action=search&cart=1420410948870397&eqskudatarq=1303&eqtitledatarq=Wheels05&eqvendordatarq=pmd
  9. Thanks BiFo, would love to try these tires out. Just wondering if you know any North America sources selling these tires? Attempt to buy 2 for 23 EUR to try them out, but the shipping cost is 42 EUR ......
